Now that I'm all grown and know what this song about, makes me laugh that I knew all the lyrics and sang along when I was a kid. This movie is awesome!
What's wrong with people? This is a great movie. It's a very deep story, has great music, great songs, great dancing and one of the greatest villains of all time. I guess critics have to spit on everything that goes against commercializing the world.
I remember watching "The Apple" as a kid and being excited for the year 1994 to come so that everyone would wear leather pants and vests and jazz dance on mopeds while a silver space-hooker sings off-key about amphetamines. 16 years later and the closest thing we have is Lady Gaga? I've been cheated. Ah well, at least my new diet pills give me this feeling. :-P
I know the tune when she signs "I can feel the earth start quaking, when America starts shaking" was lifted from another song, but I can't, for the life of me, remember what that other song was. Does anyone else know?
OMG... this song is absolutely perfect for drag interpretation! Cries out for it practically!!! LOL! At what venue in S.F. do they perform it??? Would love to see it the next time I'm there. :-)
I like how it's set in '04. Did they think that much would change in 24 years?! Wait... nevermind. *she thought about American Idol and Dancing with the Stars*
HaHa! I have this movie since, my parents, sister, and I were extras in this movie, while stationed in Berlin, where a lot of it was filmed. I was only 2 years old. Considering how antidrug my parents are, I always get a kick out of this song and movie.
America's the land of the dirty jews, and their fucking faggot pyramids.

LOL--Girls Aloud's "Wake Me Up" video borrowed heavily from this number, particularly with the girls on motorbikes.

I don't know if it's taken from a particular song. I think that's a pretty common bar in this kind of music.

The woman who dubbed CMS can really hit those high notes. She reminds me of the woman who dubbed Dolly Read in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.
