  • welcome back ed, lots of other heads have shown up any plans for carvins or boogie amps ?

  • @wakomaniac45 - Nope.

  • Welcome back Ed!

  • Man this doesn't make any sense and maybe I'm crazy, but Ed, you rip even better on upright! So damn tasty.. Totally awesome

  • @SpagsJippy - Thanks. I've been playing it for almost 40 years, so that might have something to do with it.

  • If the opportunity ever arises, you should totally review some of Warwick's Pro Series basses. I'm interested to see how the Pro Series Thumb BO stacks up against the German made version, and if I should invest in one or not.

  • @AllanBlack - I think I did review one of those a while back... didn't I? I did so many Warwicks last year, I'm sure I did a Pro Series. Could be wrong.

  • Man !

    your Finally back !

    I missed your vids .

  • sweet lull p man

  • Great. Now I need a new amp. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW MR. FRIEDLAND?!? ;)

Looking forward to the full review! I love your videos, you're one of the best reviewers out there. A full, in-depth, and *properly explained* look at the bass/amp, lots of sound samples instead of just a guy talking. Thanks!

    Regards,

    JG

  • You are really good at tweaking amps to find great and distictive sounds Ed! By watching your videos I've learned alot that has been very handy when playing in different situations. Thank you!

  • I bought a Shuttle 6.0 210T last fall because of you. very satisfied. It's powerful, versatile, lightweight and lets the character of the instrument unadulterated. I use it with a J-Bass, a 78 P-Bass, a Godin A4 and Carvin lb70 in different band settings from jazz to hard rock and it plays everything.

  • @Karmaneoeric - I just got a Shuttle 210 cab about 4 months ago after using the 12s for 4 years. It's a great little box! I use it a lot as a standalone cab, or put it under my 6.0/12t combo.

  • Loving it! Go Ed!

  • I actually want to hear a distorted double bass

  • Yes! finally Ed is back

  • ED! THANKS! Man, I saw the video thumbnail pop up in my email from my channel subscription and I thought, "Man, what a cruel trick. Somehow an old review just burst through the email alert thing, or whatever. It's a desert out here without you. Thanks for kickin' the vid and yes -- slap, P, upright, etc. You da man! :)

  • So glad you are make video review again?

  • Ahhh this made my day, welcome back!

  • Good to see the videos are making a comeback! Thanks for sharing Ed.

  • On a compleeetly different note - pun not intended - I saw an article related to a KS 6. Sorry to ask about it here, but I was looking through YouTube to see if you'd done something on it.

  • @hahabass - As in Ken Smith? I used my KS 6 for some of the video. You'll see it in the finished product.

  • sweet fat baby jesus yes!

  • I love your vids Ed. I watch in awe and wish I had those kind of chops. Fantastic.

  • @chadhargis - These kind of chops are a curse! They never work when you need them.

  • It sounds delicious with that jazz bass. I've always loved Genz's gear since you started demoing it...maybe this one will be in a price range where I can grab one.

  • Ed has returned....

  • You have no idea how relieved we are to finally see you on here again.

  • man, this is so impressive. Ed can play any bass, any style!

  • YES@!!!!! FINALLY A NEW VIDEO ON IT'S WAY. YOU ARE MY BASS MESSIAH.

  • Dang it ed, just as I was about to purchase my new amp, you had to throw this on me? Its ridiculous how amazing you make these amps sound.

  • @leegro - No, the guys at Genz Benz make them sound good. I just play through them!

  • i really cant wait , i love seeing these videos ed and i love the small community that is in the comments. bassist really are a great bunch of people!

  • @henry12350 - One thing I am grateful for is the generally good behavior of my commenters. I look at other YT channels, and man.... there's a lot of trolling and bashing going on out there. I'm lucky!

  • @BassGuitarMag its just the way your channel is! i love watching these man!

  • Thanks for doing some double bass through it!!

  • @fryBASS - You're welcome. It only makes sense since I use that amp all the time for upright.

  • @BassGuitarMag And if I got it, so would I.

  • Good to see another vid by you, Ed! Can't wait to see the full vid!

  • I thought you were gone forever! :O

  • Nice Ed, which bass is that 5 string P-bass?

  • @LarvaVengadora - It's a Mike Lull P5 - awesome!

  • We missed you ,Ed!!!!

  • Awesome! Good to see you back Ed!

  • We all missed you :´)

  • It's been a long time waiting for you to come back ;)

  • welcome back! Ed

  • Good to see you again.

  • ED!!i didn't know you master the upright bass! you're even more awesome now!

  • @GodHetfield - Master? No, it kicks my butt every time... but I've been playing for 40 years, it lets me feel semi-competent once in a while.

  • @BassGuitarMag That's right, Ed's not a master.....he's a Practice Master, just like Charlie Parker (the secret of all great musicians).

  • @BassGuitarMag Don't kid yourself, Ed. That intonation and fluidity sounded good to me! Even so; your bass guitar playing is a pleasure to watch. I hope life is treating you well.

  • @BassGuitarMag too humble ;)

  • Great to see the channel back. Definitely looking for that full demo.

  • yaaaaayyyyyyyyy

  • finally , back on track!

  • been a very long time ed nice to see you

  • I almost think I prefer your upright playing!

  • Wow very full tone coming from that cab. I really like it!

  • Ed, I have a question: Does the slap tone varies according to the amplifier or to the bass guitar itself?

  • @asaness1k - Both! The bass (and the strings, and the hands!) is the source of the tone, but the amp also has a big effect. This Jazz and the Shuttle 6.2 is a great combination, but it also has new strings, and I have a little bit of understanding about how to play it. Your mileage may vary...

  • @BassGuitarMag I see, thanks for your response, Ed. It really helped me alot.

  • Ed Friedland is awesome

  • Woo Ed! Good to see ya!

  • genz benz must love ed very much

  • The Lull makes an appearance again!

  • yes

  • great to have you back

  • Sounds like an awesome amp!
