I love this song because it is metaphorical and authobiographical at the same time. It's about the Doors and a whole generation of young people who were trying to change the values of humanity. They may or may not have succeeded, but the last two lines hold the point - we need an answer, not just a new way (new set of philosophical beliefs and blind teachings).
