Real Americans such as Pat Tillman were running to the recruiting center and enlisting. Other real Americans were calling their Reserve units and making sure that they were on the top of the list when their units were mobilized to be deployed!!!

This is a very important speech. Every veteran should see this. Even if he can't achieve everything here, he's being explicit. That's great. He's saying what his principles are. Veterans are used and abused, weather the war they were in is "right" or "wrong." They are always used and spit out. In every American war since the Civil War. And no President has really gone out of his way to explicitly explain their needs.

I was thinking of Bill Richardson as VP, he has a lot of experience with foreign matters and he's worked in the White House. It would probably help Obama's "experience" problem that he has now. You know if it's Hillary Clinton as VP that would be fine.

Well Governor Richardson will automatically bring 93% of the hispanic vote. That with the black vote + the younger vote, with at least 40% of the white vote he can pull it off. First of all, going into Iraq made us hated throughout the world. THAT made us less safe. Leaving will, yes, probably strengthen Iran's influence in the region, but, again, we did that by going into Iraq and overthrowing Sadaam.

Obama knows even after the drawdown of troops later this summer we will still be at pre-surge levels... McCain doesn't.

Obama knows that the 16% loss in retention will be made up by 16% increase in recruitment and supports the GI Bill and our troops... McCain doesn't (and only mentions the loss)

McCain seems to think our presence in the Middle East is the solution... when it's the problem. Obama knows better.
