  • @KgirlHasTheWits

Valerie was both highly important and a destroyer...her voice was necessary even if extreme. A necessity to the movement! She stirred things up and said things many others in the women's movement was too afraid to say in the desire to smooth things over with the opposition...please come up with a different kind of criticism for a change...one that hasn't already been stated and restated in a way over all radicals, hateful in their speech or not.

  • Around 6:01 is what I came here for...

"radical" is always labeled mentally ill. I don't see that some of her ideas weren't promoted by other and sometimes completely opposite people. It's just her delivery that makes it so much worth it.

  • I am a male, and I read her manifesto. strangely I find my self very attracted to her way of writing but I know not to take her hateful remarks seriously :-) oh and we are all equal here, men and female, but maybe "some of us are more equal than others" lol jk

  • I've read this bigot's manifesto. It's nothing more than the psychotic ravings of a seriously mentally ill person. Because of her multiple mental illnesses and delusions, she can be forgiven. What's frightening is apparently perfectly sane people read it and agree. She and those like her have done more harm to feminism than any elitist, sexist man could ever dream of doing.

  • @CaptainSmallFoot Well said. I find it very difficult to blame her for what she did: She was obviously a very ill woman. But the fact that the likes of those one radfemhub see it as some kind of legitimate political statement shows that these aren't simply marginal ravings. Theres actually a base of support for this kind of hate speech.

  • If she is good for gender equality and women's rights, than so is Aileen Wuornos.

  • She's portrayed as eccentric, whimsical and street-smart (would you agree?). If I were a teenage girl this character would appeal to me much in the same way as Sal from On The Road did.

  • How was Valerie's play worse from the crap that Andy and his Factory people made and they called that crap movies?

  • why are all lesbians angry?

  • @Alos21 I dont think all lesbians are angry, its wrong to think that for some people that do somethings everybody does them (im mexican dont know how to write english very well) But its a movie of a revolucionary women of her time, she didn't give a fuck, she express her inconformism, i like her and im not lesbian or an angry women.

  • @ganjahnnabis she was a bit nuts, hand on heart...but anyways I agree with you on all the other counts! all the lesbian chicks I know are angry as fuck and I always get questions from my point of view,so if I offended you in any way I apologise !....you have a great taste in music btw and your english is great ;)

  • @Alos21 You didn't offended me, its good to share points of view, i get questions and agression too sometimes, because im feminist and most of the people think im lesbian or a women that hate guys jajajaja... have a good day!

  • but fucking think about it, how many women (girls) do you know that have been mollested, abused, raped, etc, a whole fucking lot. Men are not completely functional as humans emotionally, they do not understand the impact of their actions. Its something women choose to ignore because we are hetero, but if we band together and help each other out, we can change all of this.

  • @Smellycats4eva True. All men do that, rapes and kill and torture bla bla bla...Thats who we are and we love it. No thats not true we cant love because we have no feelings. Now go kill your sons and be a feminist.....

  • @Smellycats4eva whaaaa?

  • SOMEBODY HAD SOME DADDY ISSUES!

  • crazy bitch.

  • What-a-nut-case.

  • Powerful movie !

  • Crazies like her give the women's rights movement a terrible name. Valerie Solanas is to feminism as Osama Bin Laden is to Islam.

  • Crazy bitch, had a messed up childhood so wants to associate all males with men who abused her.

  • Imagine that, a feminist who hates sex

  • the actor reminds me of Cate Blanchett as Jude Quinn in Im Not There.

    in other words, fucking amazing......

  • @DrowningArt94 Yeah, Lili Taylor is an amazing actress and very underrated too.

  • She seems like a nice enough girl, but I don't think she'd be much fun at parties.

  • listen man...im fucking tired...dont bring me down...strangely that is not

Me agrada Valerie.

  • So I can write violent hate-speech, slap the satire label on it and be called brilliant for it? Cool!

  • Is she serious... 'cause if this is satire I didn't get the punch line.

  • FUCK VALERIE SOLANIS! DON'T YOU JUST LOVE FUCK-UPS WHOSE CLAIM TO FAME IS OTHER PEOPLE PAIN, ESP THOSE WHO ACTUALLY CONTRIBUTED TO CULTURE WITH A RICH BODY OF WORK...FUCK HER MANIFESTO WHICH SHE SUCESSFULLY TARNISHED BY THIS SENSELESS SHOOTING- SOCIETY FOR CUTTING UP MEN?....nice

    otherwise, great movie, esp Nico

  • To an Idiot SandozSaxonWilliams: You are a fag. a pour and a few man. A fag. Un hombre que o acepte todas estas cosas que dice Valerie, es un marica.

  • @francisvilll

    è

I was going to lower myself to even write you a reply but ill quote from the beautiful pete townshend: LETS FORGET YOU BETTER STILL.

    PS....lighten up francis

  • @SandozSaxonWilliams ,,American people is so Stupid, so blind. Warhol is invisible, no trnsmit to artistic sensitivity. Solans can do it. Not is a scientific theory, is literature. USA is a dumb country. You are a blind insect for me.

  • It's kind of a sad story. She is obviously mentally ill.

Hopefully her message of hate will dissolve away as it continues to be irrelevant.

  • Simply put, men are human beings created equally as women. Not problems that should be removed from the face of the earth.

If a women hates a man, she is no different than a sexist man who hates a women. SO LET'S JUST END SEXISM BY EACH GENDER LIKING EACH OTHER EQUALLY! Unlike Valerie Solanas who had an incorrect bias against men.

  • @JoshuaAaron13 Incorrect bias?? She was f**king raped by her own father!!! And excuse me, you don't really hear about women raping men... Oh wait! That's cause they don't! (Or to be precise, the rate is far,far less than the men's rate) Do you honestly expect women to just erase all these years of countless misogyny and prejudice? It's not that simple. Definitely not.

  • @silanthaler

Just this month I saw a girl on the news being held before a jury for raping several children sadly.

Wait a minute Valerie was raped 0_o!?!?!?! Well that explains it all! Now wonder she hated men.

Nevertheless, you can't judge an entire species over what one man did.

  • @JoshuaAaron13 Out of 100 rape cases, 1-3 are women raping men. And Valerie had gone through such a HORRIBLE (the most terrible of all) experience, so you can't blame her. Men can not understand what effect a rape can have on a woman, the full atrocity of such an action. It is easy for you to speak, but you can't understand. I agree that you can't judge an entire species over what one man did. But if you've been raped, you are allowed to hate it.

  • @silanthaler yes, but you can't then objectify men as a symbol of rape just because some sick, callous person/people did it to you.

  • @silanthaler Yeah men can't understand it, cause most of us aren't rapists

  • @silanthaler No, you're not. Nothing excuses logical fallacies. Nothing excuses intellectual laziness. Nothing excuses shoddy thinking.

  • @silanthaler This woman is no champion of your cause.

  • she turned out to be right. look at the world today. we need more women like her.

  • Comment removed

  • Women get away with sexism all the time and if a man make a sexist joke, you are the bad person, double standard much? Of course, all the people that agree with Valarie Solanas are no different than people who genuinely get pleasure for inflicting pain on others, sadists, even rewarding themselves for perpetuating it as well.

  • @anikinippon waahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...go cry about it.

  • @karlsmith00 I don't have to, most people already dismiss her claims as sexist anyways.

  • @anikinippon i really care what most people do. most people watch dancing with the stars and are entertained.

i think males have had it and still have it just a BIT easier. so calm down and stop crying. she was right, end of story

  • @karlsmith00 Oh sure, and what are you basing this on? How do we have it easier? As far as I'm concerned, men have the more difficult jobs and also the most job related deaths, and that's verifiable facts.

  • @anikinippon that's because males are reckless and stupid, and don't have any risk awareness. lots of job-related deaths are related to alcohol and drug use on the job, look at the statistics.

now i'm supposed to feel sorry for dumb guys who do stupid things while they're drunk on the job? like i said, go cry about it. if they had more common sense, they would die less. that's not my problem.

  • @karlsmith00 Ah, see, and there are your true colors. If I were to say say the same thing in the reverse for women about how stupid women are for not finding jobs that pay well because they tend to children so much and I wouldn't feel sorry for them, I'll bet you would have a different reaction. My point is your sexist arguments are pointless because you are putting a lot of assumptions based on the alone gender, nothing more than what the Nazi's said about Jews and Saddam said about the Kurds.

  • @anikinippon yeah i know. someone who points out men do stupid things especially while drunk is the same as exterminating millions of people.

idiot. when people have no argument, they have to start crying about nazis. just shut up.

  • @karlsmith00 Yea because PEOPLE do stupid things when drunk, sorry you missed the point.

  • @anikinippon no you fat bitch. you have no point. that's the problem. yet that doesn't stop you from running your mouth, does it? lack of information never stopped a man from talking.

sorry you missed my point. now shut up and find a job. men need to be kept busy with manual labor, and need to stay off the computer where they just cause problems.

  • @karlsmith00 Smooth, losing it over comments on the internet and then making it seem like having the last word "wins" the argument.

  • Yes shes a terrorist and "definetely" not a feminist so NOW(national organization for women) which btw is the larges feminist org in america wouldnt say anything nice about her right?

Wrong NOW hailed her as a “champion of women’s rights.” Florynce Kennedy, a NOW activist, represented her at trial(after she attempted to murder Andy Warhol) and declared her “one of the most important spokeswomen of the feminist movement.”

So all of these lies about her not being a feminist is...well BS

  • Valerie Solanas was not a hero, or a feminist. She was a terrorist.

  • Valerie Solanas was not a hero, or a feminist. She was a misandric terrorist who even tried to kill Andy Warhol. Anyone who idolizes her is idolizing the main image of terrorism.

  • she was such an asshole

  • Comment removed

  • @troublename Congrats. I hope you rot in hell.:)

  • she sounds like a rather sad woman,i beileve what you might term a looser.

  • Wow, while I don't agree with her on everything, I find her amazingly intriguing. She raises powerful questions.

  • The angry feminist stereotype (which, if you were treated the way women were/are, you'd be angry, too) certainly wasn't helped with her shooting Warhol. I'm not saying she was right at all but she was actually an intelligent, insightful, humorous person. She was also very mentally ill. Andy Warhol could be considering just as crazy for using poop to paint on canvasses. and the like.

  • actually, her name is Lily Tomelin

  • I wish I could have met her (after screening by metal detectors and strip-search by hot lesbian security guards of her choice.)

  • Very funny !!..:-))

  • The pervert reminds me of Randy Quaid.

  • It is literary satire. She is angry, but she is selling this SCUM to people, then a man actually steals it, and wham-mo, she made her point. So she spent three years, we could all do that, just for one bad day. Life Stinks. She wrote well. I don't think she was all that crazy, just eccentric.

  • That's right...I think the same thing....Thanks

  • @DYLAND28 it stops being "satire" when two people get shot.

  • It stops being satire when two people get shot.

The only reason we are even writing about this person by the way. She couldn't get famous any other way than shooting people, and anyone who supports her supports violence and is no better than any man that ever waged wars.

  • You're an idiot.

  • One time Warhol actually called her a "disgusting dyke" (he just saw her walking while he was having lunch or something and saw her) and when she proceeded to explain the sexual abuse she experienced as a child (which doesn't happen to all lesbians but obviously shows she was at least very self-aware), he mocked her.

  • @harveybacon Literary satire? Yeah, and Hitler was only being ironic in Mein Kampf about the jews.

  • she was a real fuckin' psycho-path, I can't believe some people look up to that fucker.

  • valerie solanas. one chick i woulda love to known in my life.

  • Really? What do you find so interesting about a mentally twisted deranged lesbian lunatic :)))

  • i would just like to know what her fucking deal really was, and see if she'd be irritated with me like she was with other people. any mentally twisted deranged lunatic 'writer' can be interesting to me.

  • Well her deal was simply taking out her childhood traumas on all men. And that thing she wrote is nothing more than misandric hate speech, written manifestation of a serious psycological anomaly. Nothing special about it really. it doesn't even have any literary value..

  • @AlexGruev A perfect analysis of this person, I completely agree.

  • @AlexGruev I think you're right, but I can't really judge her for the way she reacted to her experiences. She is held up by some as a feminist icon though, and that's a good enough reason for me to assert that men can't be feminists.

  • @prschuster

Only mentally ill people hold other mentally ill people as "icons" :)

  • @AlexGruev Sadly, there are a lot of normal people who unwittingly idolize mentally ill people..

  • @prschuster you shame yourself with comments like this. Look at the life of a man like Stephen Lewis, then tell me a man "can't be a feminist". Shame on you.

  • You forgot to mention fantastic writer, buddo. :)

  • Well if you are interested in that kind of "writers" you can always find them in any kind of radical extremist groups and mental insitutions :)))

  • What´s wrong about lesbians?

  • I love her
