Comparing VU to Dylan is stupid. Anyone who thinks it's a good idea is stupid. Both are fucking brilliant in their own ways. To insist on taking a "THERE MUST BE A WINNER!" approach to music is just missing the point. Either way, though, this is a really great song.

Actually it's probably the most fashionable album of the period. However Velvet Underground really marked the beginning of the end, it allowed a lot of crap bands to make some real shitty albums. Lou Reed and John Cale could pull this sort of crap off, but many others couldn't, but God knows they still try to this day
