Thats the difference between me and most homosexuals, they sin intentionally and dont have a problem with it. But Iam sure you don't understand..Thats why you need the Lord! Remember only he can save the unrepentant sinners of the world.
Christians have persecuted everyone that doesn't believe as they do for century's. Just stay in your christian life and leave us alone, and we will leave you alone. Fair enough?
Leave Marriage alone. Marriage has been between men & women for centuries. Marriage was created by God so leave it alone. "But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate" (Mark 10:6-9).
@texanrob Wait a minute, what about the many CHRISTIANS that are persecuted. That isn't okay either. Everyone needs to come to a happy medium, learn to get a long regardless of whether or not they like or believe in what others believe.
We are all taught to love one another. I do not agree with many things, but I am not going to be cruel to someone or condemn them for what their beliefs are.

America is being overrun with religious sects these days .. It a world gone MAD over here . All based on HATE.. Jesus is never even a part of the discussion any more.
"lol..and you'd be burned at the stake. carry on nuball"
You're right--THEY'D be burned at the stake. Another marvelous thing is that hetero progressives overwhelmingly approve of gay "marriage", but at the same time shun it for themselves almost as a point of honor in favor of shack-up arrangements or relationships--proving that both groups are screwballs. Gay marriage is just a whim but in today's shallow culture whims are interpreted as rights.
These people act like they are supporting something of great significance. This is what happens when people become affluent and bored, they have nothing better to do with their time. If by some miracle of science fiction they could be transported in tact back to the midst of the 13th century, with full knowledge of the 20th century, they'd change their tune in the blink of an eye. Having to forage for your daily ration and avoid the plague would bring things sharply into focus.
HA! ya, lets just put people back into feudal warfare, squalor and poverty to get society to progress a little. "Who needs civils rights," you ask? down with the lords and up with the serfs! brilliant
This country is becoming a mess! Gays asking for civil rights? What a heck are they talking about? It is insane! Mormons church don´t have the fault. Gays should go to protest black churches because they voted against it but of course they will not do that because it is against Obama! What a hypocrital people..
Liberals are dangerous people whose don´t accept popular vote saying NO!! They are assaulting people included an old lady carrying a cross. More reason to say NO TO GAY MARRIAGE!
julian ninnie; religious fanatics are dangerous people because they turn a loving and compassionate gospel into a hateful and ignorant dogma of the prejudiced,ignorant,anti-questioning AMERICAN CHRISTIAN.
I don't understand what's wrong with the Christian Evangelical church turning down gay rights in a civil manner. At least they arn't going into gays' homes and throwing around leaflets onto the yard.
73% of all Black voters rejected gay marriage! YOu gays are hypocritical! Go Protest them.. Oh ya that won't be politically correct will it? Lets not change the definition of words we all agreed to so they now fit your warped actions!
Don't even start that. This argument is ignorant. Black voters made up 6% of the vote in California. So pretty much the black vote made up less than 10% of the "yes" on prop 8 votes.
This is disgusting. The people voted and they have spoken. Back off the Mormon church. Go protest the black community they were responsible for the loss.
I'm glad 8 passed. It's good to know a lot of peeps know right from wrong.
Oh and same-sex marriage is not a civil rights issue. Without exception, every adult in in the U.S. already has a right to marry. But everyone also has restrictions on whom they may marry--again, without exception. No one is permitted to marry a child, a close blood relative, a person who is already married, or a person of the same sex. These restrictions apply equally to everyone--there is no discrimination involved.
People don't realize that this "religion" like most (except maybe Baha'i) is inherently intolerant of equality/freedoms including each other's. They seek to impose their will. This one didn't allow ordination of black men until 1978 for Christ's sake. The other Christian religions forced Mormons to give up polygamy even though the greatest men in the Bible often were polygamists or had concubines.
Mormons have weirdo marriages where they dress up like gods and wear magic underwear with masonic symbols on it. Christians aren't allowed to attend the ceremony, and mormons teach that their temple marriage is superior to other weddings. I don't want my kids taught this in school, and their wedding violates the religious beliefs of others, so I propose mormon weddings be made illegal.
johnPhilos -- Please stop trying to share your religious bigotry. Your hatred and negativity is appalling. As always, you fail to support any of your outrageous claims. Just because you hear it online, does not make it true.
When I apply the same reasoning mormons use to to justify banning gay marriage to banning mormon marriage, then all the sudden you see bigotry. How interesting.
If you don't want gay marriage allowed because you find it repulsive, then I say ban mormon marriage, because many find your cult weddings just as objectionable.
I've seen their temple "endowment" on youtube, but I haven't seen their temple weddings on youtube. I was brainwashed into the mormon cult by my parents and wasn't able to free myself of it until recently, but I did get married in the temple so I know how weird it is.
Please don't be so naive to only read your church's sanitized version of its history. Clearly you have never researched mormonism outside the church's approved sources. That is like only believing what the used car salesmen tells you.
jP - You are kidding right? You assume that I do not know my Church's history. You assume that everything I have read about my Church is favorable. I am tired of your ridiculous assumptions.
My answer to you is if you have read anything outside the sanitized history of the church, you wouldn't be asking better questions.
Why do you pretend to be an expert on mormonism and you don't have a clue about mormon history or beliefs? You act ignorant about what happens in the temple which means you are either really stupid, or you are being dishonest about what happens there.
If mormonism is true, why do the apologists have to lie to defend it?
jP - Why do you always assume? Why don't you ask questions to find out what I and other Mormons actually believe.
I said that I know my Church's history and beliefs, I did not say I was an expert. I am know what happens in the temples and I know that your statement about temples is inaccurate.
I don't believe that apologists lie. If you have a problem with what they say, then discuss it with them.
I don't have to ask what mormons believe after having been raised in a mormon home, attended seminary, institute, and having taken Religious Education classes at BYU, I have a pretty good idea about mormonism. I also know how mormon apologists like you misrepresent mormonism to shield it from the scrutiny of outsiders.
What did I say that you find inaccurate about the temple? Admittedly, I didn't use flattering words, but what I said was accurate.
jP - Well, my friend, you "pretty good idea" is completely inaccurate. Especially when YOU mixe YOUR ideas with LDS Doctrine to create your conception of jP's Mormon Doctrine that is not consistant with true LDS Doctrine.
Nothing you said about the temple was accurate.
I am not a Mormon apologist. I stand up for my faith by questioning others and inviting them to find out the truth for themselves. I do not intend to, nor do I explain or attempt to apologize for LDS Doctrine.
You snake, no wonder you are a lawyer. When did this become about mormon doctrine? If you want to talk mormon doctrine, first you will have to define what that is. Good luck trying to get a handful of mormons to agree on what qualifies as "true LDS Doctrine".
I didn't pretend to know what you consider to be doctrine. I do know what mormons usually believe, and what they are taught, and once were taught; and I know what happens in the temple because I've been many times.
jP - You are the one that brought up LDS doctrine. LDS Doctrine is simple and clear. However, individuals, like you, try to complicate it through your philosophies.
Please stop your attacks on the LDS Church. There is no justification for intolerance and bigotry.
cryan -- The "reenactments" on YouTube are misrepresentations of LDS beliefs. Please do not be naive enought to believe everything you see on YouTube.
@cryan71 What is this supposed to mean? I am Mormon, and I will be the judge to decide whether those videos are accurate or not. So please, post a link.
johnPhilos -- According to the Californie State Department "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" made a donation of: $4,943. That is it. How have they lied?
johnPhilos, you often make false accusations about the LDS Church without supporting your claims. Please support your claims. Thanks.
1:00 it says the church claims to have made no donations--the mormon cult lied. Thanks ScottsdaleStylee, a mormon apologist, for proving the church lied about this. The mormon church in addition to the millions of dollars it had its members donate, the church as an institution made a donation of $4,943. I hope the laws are changed so political corporations like the mormon church lose tax exempt status.
johnPhilos -- All we know is that there is a record of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" making a $4,943 donation. Is there anyway to verify if the Church actually made this donation or if it was made by someone else that listed the Church as the donator.
Further, I am NOT a Mormon apologist. I do not try to excuse or explain Mormon doctrine, I believe it speaks for itself. I merely ask others to seek after and find understanding.
WTF?! Californians voted to give rights to farm animals (prop2), but voted to strip the rights of tax-paying citizens who simply wanted a marriage license? Are you kidding me?!?!?!
Farm animals should have rights. Not necessarily human rights, but they should be protected from abuse. America treats farm animals worse than most countries.
Gays are bringing more hate towards themselves by vandalising churches and etc.Gays remind me of Filipinos thinking its"cool"to say that they are Pacific Islanders even though they arent.Gays just want to use the word married because they"like"using it.Gays are starting to piss me the fuck off.Why arent gays satisfied with a civil union? Its the same thing as marriage but spelled differently.Fucking dumb asses. Why protest a church, they have a right to believe what they want!CA voters have voted!
What it's so hard to understand that they would protest against the church that poured millions of dollars into the anti-gay marriage movement? I don't really see how a protest to reclaim rights means they aren't respectful. It's a peaceful protest. Maybe religion should be more understanding and respectful and do the right thing and not spew propaganda in order to deny rights. Why doesn't the church do that? I know why, it's because religious folks for the most part are close-minded.
toftor -- Where are you getting your information? According to the CA Secretary of State the LDS Church only donated $4,943. That does not look like "millions" to me.
Also, many claim that LDS Church members contributed millions. I do not dispute this, but there is NO WAY to verify whether they did or did not, b/c donators do not need to declare their religious affiliation to donate.
Please do some research before commenting in the future. Thanks.
These gays are clearly showing how bigoted they are against Christians and religion in general. This is unfortunate. I thought that gays were more understanding and respectful of other's views.
your an idiot... These people had their rights taken away.... lets take away christians rights to organize and not pay taxes see how they like that.....
ettubrute - Why don't we take away your right to comment here? If you are going to make ignorant comments, then perhaps you should no longer have the right to comment. Think about it.
We're FINALLY a united community demanding RESPECT. We pay taxes, obey the law, are kind, and will not stand for being treated like evildoers any longer. We're only wanted and respected when we hand over our hard earned money.
Sunshine - If you want respect, then you need earn it and treat others with respect. These demonstrations agains the LDS Church have caused me to lose respect for the GLBT movement.
The Mormons didnt do anything that will take away their tax exempt status; these people need to do a little more research. Do we tell their church leaders, or any churchs leaders for that matter, what they can or cannot say? How would free speech exist in that scenario? We are a Democratic nation and decide rights based on the values of the majority. The right being voted on was gay marriage and the majority won.
Mormons are cult whack jobs Mormon men have a ceremony where they all get together and oil up each others balls with this special oil concocted by the bishop in charge if you dont believe me ask a Mormon manhe had to have his balls greased up at some point.
African Americans voted overwhelmingly YES to say we know Civil Rights. This is NOT a civil rights issue. Please stop pretending, we find it offensive!
Then maybe you should intiate a proposal to ban mormons for the next election and see how it does asshole. I'm guessing that it won't be quite as popular to vote yes on as prop 8 was...lol
Ban churches? What kind of shit is that? What about we ban you from fucking taking another breath? Im not religious or anything but your a fucking dumb ass. People a fucking right to believe whatever they want to believe. If U dont like it go to China where they have banned churches. U piece of shit!
Warren Jeffs and his Mormon crew were fucking little girls by calling them brides -- got away with that bullshit for years hiding behind religion. Joseph Smith / Brigham Young they all fucked little girls - that's accepted in the Mormon religion.
another idiot writing without facts. first of all warren jeff was with the FUNDAMENTALIST lds church u stupid retard its a church that broke off from the lds church. bringham young did not fuck little girls u dumb fuck
Joseph Smith did -- he married a 14 year old girl. He married other the wives of some of the members. The dude just wanted to get his freak on with as many women as possible while he had power over the saints.
Joseph (and Brigham Young) would send men with good looking wives on missions so he could secretly marry their wives. Sometimes their daughters too.
Mormon polygamy started when Joseph's first wife Emma caught him in the barn banging the 15 year old maid. His told her that god made him do it and told do it, and said they were married. Emma didn't believe him and made him "re-marry" the maid.
Do not submit to these bullies those of you who voted YES. Now we see what kind of democratic process they prefer. If the Supreme Court decides to repeal the law, then courageously go forth and vote yes again.
'They' are individuals, just as the gays and their supports, who put money into no vote are individuals. The church didn't put the money in. Some of the Mormons voted NO, some have gay family members or are gay themselves.
It's silly to target some of YOUR own voters.
That building is still a Temple, and that is where the protested did their protesting...not at the Church.
70% of those who voted Yes were black, but you won't be calling them names.- thankfully.
Well considering the Mormon church's history with blacks: support of slavery, blacks are that way because they are descendants of Cain from Genesis; no priesthood until 1978; no active recruiting till 1978, I wouldn't be so quick to run to them for support.
In 1835 , the Church issued an official statement indicating that because the United States government allowed slavery, the Church would not "interfere with bond-servants, neither preach the gospel to, nor baptize them contrary to the will and wish of their masters, nor meddle with or influence them in the least to cause them to be dissatisfied with their situations in this life, thereby jeopardizing the lives of men." (LDS D&C Covenant 134:12).
Do not submit to these bullies those of you who voted YES. Now we see what kind of democratic process they prefer. If the Supreme Court decides to repeal the law, then courageously go forth and vote yes again.
Fucking Mormon douche bags! Joseph Smith was a fraud - a snake oil flim-flam man selling a fairy tail about gold plates left by an angel in the ground in upstate New York. Mormon bullshit artists go fuck your fifth wife and stay out of our bedrooms!
With that loving, rational argument you have won my vote. - not.
Dismissing their views, not understanding why they feel the way they do, won't help you change minds and win votes. You are showing the bigotry here. We disagree, it does not mean I hate or don't feel pain those I disagree with.
hey stupid dumbass thanks for writing okay u stupid shit first of all it was OVER ruled after the voters who pay taxes voted aginst and now they did it again. look u dumbshit its over u cant get married oh and for stupid fuckers who want "equal" right and "fairness" stop hitting and harrasing people in front of temples and if ur really pissed go to all the religions that were for prop 8 not just the mormon church.i WAS for gay right but now i see i was on the wrong side.fucken assholes
my fucking church. u motherfucker first of all u dumbshit it was the catholic church, chrisitans, evange, jews and mormons so thats ur first mistake second of all its not a cult we all have our own minds and thoughts so dont u fucken tell me what i was for.
The memos on Wikileaks show that the Mormon church leaders saying that they aren't getting much else from the christians and catholics.
Don't hide behind their skirts -- spotlight's on you. Maybe over the next few months, gays should go door to door with copies of the endowment ceremony to tell people what Mormon marriage is about.
the way these protest are being handled is with pure hate the ones that are shouting shame on u and no more hate are tagging the church and hitting people and threatning to bomb the temple right. so what do say to that
i dont have prove shit for to u. i was for gay right i didnt know how violent and stupid they were going to get. i was raised in a gay household but i can also be a mormon so fuck you and u fuck off

The other Christian religions forced Mormons to give up polygamy even though the greatest men in the Bible often were polygamists or had concubines.
chimeramax 3 years ago
Mormons have weirdo marriages where they dress up like gods and wear magic underwear with masonic symbols on it. Christians aren't allowed to attend the ceremony, and mormons teach that their temple marriage is superior to other weddings. I don't want my kids taught this in school, and their wedding violates the religious beliefs of others, so I propose mormon weddings be made illegal.
johnPhilos 3 years ago
johnPhilos -- Please stop trying to share your religious bigotry. Your hatred and negativity is appalling. As always, you fail to support any of your outrageous claims. Just because you hear it online, does not make it true.
Shame on you, johnPhilos!

When I apply the same reasoning mormons use to to justify banning gay marriage to banning mormon marriage, then all the sudden you see bigotry. How interesting.
If you don't want gay marriage allowed because you find it repulsive, then I say ban mormon marriage, because many find your cult weddings just as objectionable.
johnPhilos 3 years ago
jP - What do you think the "reasoning mormons use to justify banning gay marriage"?
You are misrepresenting Mormon history, Mormon doctrine, and the Mormon position on homsexuals. Please stop.
ScottsdaleStylee 3 years ago
If anyone wants to see the reenactments of the Mormon temple ceremony, there are plenty on you tube.
cryan71 3 years ago
I've seen their temple "endowment" on youtube, but I haven't seen their temple weddings on youtube. I was brainwashed into the mormon cult by my parents and wasn't able to free myself of it until recently, but I did get married in the temple so I know how weird it is.
johnPhilos 3 years ago
jP - Don't believe everything you see on YouTube. I sincerely hope you are not so naive.
Your allegations regarding Joseph Smith and Brigham Youn are not true. Where are you getting your information?
ScottsdaleStylee 3 years ago
Please don't be so naive to only read your church's sanitized version of its history. Clearly you have never researched mormonism outside the church's approved sources. That is like only believing what the used car salesmen tells you.
johnPhilos 3 years ago
jP - You are kidding right? You assume that I do not know my Church's history. You assume that everything I have read about my Church is favorable. I am tired of your ridiculous assumptions.
Why do you avoid my questions?
ScottsdaleStylee 3 years ago
My answer to you is if you have read anything outside the sanitized history of the church, you wouldn't be asking better questions.
Why do you pretend to be an expert on mormonism and you don't have a clue about mormon history or beliefs? You act ignorant about what happens in the temple which means you are either really stupid, or you are being dishonest about what happens there.
If mormonism is true, why do the apologists have to lie to defend it?
johnPhilos 3 years ago
jP - Why do you always assume? Why don't you ask questions to find out what I and other Mormons actually believe.
I said that I know my Church's history and beliefs, I did not say I was an expert. I am know what happens in the temples and I know that your statement about temples is inaccurate.
I don't believe that apologists lie. If you have a problem with what they say, then discuss it with them.
ScottsdaleStylee 3 years ago
I don't have to ask what mormons believe after having been raised in a mormon home, attended seminary, institute, and having taken Religious Education classes at BYU, I have a pretty good idea about mormonism. I also know how mormon apologists like you misrepresent mormonism to shield it from the scrutiny of outsiders.
What did I say that you find inaccurate about the temple? Admittedly, I didn't use flattering words, but what I said was accurate.
johnPhilos 3 years ago
jP - Well, my friend, you "pretty good idea" is completely inaccurate.
ScottsdaleStylee 3 years ago
You snake, no wonder you are a lawyer. When did this become about mormon doctrine? If you want to talk mormon doctrine, first you will have to define what that is. Good luck trying to get a handful of mormons to agree on what qualifies as "true LDS Doctrine".
I didn't pretend to know what you consider to be doctrine. I do know what mormons usually believe, and what they are taught, and once were taught; and I know what happens in the temple because I've been many times.
johnPhilos 3 years ago
jP - You are the one that brought up LDS doctrine. LDS Doctrine is simple and clear. However, individuals, like you, try to complicate it through your philosophies.
Please stop your attacks on the LDS Church. There is no justification for intolerance and bigotry.

The mormon church is on record making a donation to prop 8 and now they are lying about it.
johnPhilos 3 years ago
johnPhilos -- According to the Californie State Department "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" made a donation of: $4,943. That is it. How have they lied?
johnPhilos, you often make false accusations about the LDS Church without supporting your claims. Please support your claims. Thanks.
ScottsdaleStylee 3 years ago
1:00 it says the church claims to have made no donations--the mormon cult lied. Thanks ScottsdaleStylee, a mormon apologist, for proving the church lied about this. The mormon church in addition to the millions of dollars it had its members donate, the church as an institution made a donation of $4,943. I hope the laws are changed so political corporations like the mormon church lose tax exempt status.
johnPhilos 3 years ago
johnPhilos -- All we know is that there is a record of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" making a $4,943 donation. Is there anyway to verify if the Church actually made this donation or if it was made by someone else that listed the Church as the donator.
Further, I am NOT a Mormon apologist. I do not try to excuse or explain Mormon doctrine, I believe it speaks for itself. I merely ask others to seek after and find understanding.

tarokirl 3 years ago
What it's so hard to understand that they would protest against the church that poured millions of dollars into the anti-gay marriage movement? I don't really see how a protest to reclaim rights means they aren't respectful. It's a peaceful protest. Maybe religion should be more understanding and respectful and do the right thing and not spew propaganda in order to deny rights. Why doesn't the church do that? I know why, it's because religious folks for the most part are close-minded.
toftor 3 years ago
toftor -- Where are you getting your information? According to the CA Secretary of State the LDS Church only donated $4,943. That does not look like "millions" to me.
Also, many claim that LDS Church members contributed millions. I do not dispute this, but there is NO WAY to verify whether they did or did not, b/c donators do not need to declare their religious affiliation to donate.
Please do some research before commenting in the future. Thanks.

The right being voted on was gay marriage and the majority won.

cryan71 3 years ago
Joseph (and Brigham Young) would send men with good looking wives on missions so he could secretly marry their wives. Sometimes their daughters too.
Mormon polygamy started when Joseph's first wife Emma caught him in the barn banging the 15 year old maid. His told her that god made him do it and told do it, and said they were married. Emma didn't believe him and made him "re-marry" the maid.

This protest is at a Mormon TEMPLE not church.
Only 2% of California is made up of Mormons, some who are children, some who are gay.
So they were not the majority vote.
I disagree, I don't think victory is sweet, to many people are hurting. Gloating is mean and probably short lived anyway.
a2wildchick 3 years ago
2% provided 4/5ths of the funding. They don't get away that easily.
The Temple is a major religious ceremony building and part of the church.
cryan71 3 years ago
Who wants to get away?
'They' are individuals, just as the gays and their supports, who put money into no vote are individuals. The church didn't put the money in. Some of the Mormons voted NO, some have gay family members or are gay themselves.
It's silly to target some of YOUR own voters.
That building is still a Temple, and that is where the protested did their protesting...not at the Church.
70% of those who voted Yes were black, but you won't be calling them names.- thankfully.
a2wildchick 3 years ago
Well considering the Mormon church's history with blacks: support of slavery, blacks are that way because they are descendants of Cain from Genesis; no priesthood until 1978; no active recruiting till 1978, I wouldn't be so quick to run to them for support.
cryan71 3 years ago

In 1835 , the Church issued an official statement indicating that because the United States government allowed slavery, the Church would not "interfere with bond-servants, neither preach the gospel to, nor baptize them contrary to the will and wish of their masters, nor meddle with or influence them in the least to cause them to be dissatisfied with their situations in this life, thereby jeopardizing the lives of men." (LDS D&C Covenant 134:12).
