My most beloved aria sung incomparably by my most beloved singer. Someone wrote recently that the Jussi Bjorling rendition of "O Holy Night" was so superior to everyone else that they should retire the carol with his name forever etched upon it. I feel precisely the same about Kathleen Ferrier singing Gluck's "Euridice-Che Faro".
This Lady sings with a most distinctive passion in all her singing – her extraordinary voice crossing the tonal range and with its dark timbre that a male voice might own. Sublime!
I remember were I was & what I did when she died. Wish we had Youtube at the time.
Better late then never. What a time to live at my age!!! What joy!! Hope you are all happy, since we share the same taste of music & ostensibly the same emotions! Greetings, Dutch expat in France.
This can just NOT be better ..... Ferrier is even better than the music itself ...... and died of a throat (!) cancer ...... good bye "Mrs.Ferrier" , but we know that you were an angel ..... I really have doubts about your human nature .... just as "Mrs Jacqueline Du Pré" ....... just as terribly ill as you were ..... such a coincidence .... how curious ..... I recognized your divine nature of course between 3:39 and 3:58 , like all of us ; that is easy .... Thank You , God .
I'm crying...

It is very sad that such a wonderful talent wasn't allowed to flourish longer.
There will not be another like her, tastes move on and anyway she was unique!
Brings tears to the eyes on every listening.
