not to be anal or anything but on all your other videos you have tab on the screen which really helps me, do you think you could put some tab on this? please
@Koasterking212 Metallica is not necessarily for beginners. If you can't drop d and tune and stuff, you should refer to a beginner's manual. Otherwise, you'll overwhelm yourself. Thrash is more at an intermediate level.
@m169marroquin listen dude im sorry but you suck ass at teaching[this song]. you went way too fast. try slowing down and explaining the notes alittle better.
@fectorage he doesnt suck ass, he is a good guitar teacher i learned how to play master of puppets from him if its too fast then you can keep rewinding it i mean sure it looks hard but this is metallica what do you expect
@m169marroquin listen dude im sorry but you suck ass at teaching[this song]. you went way too fast. try slowing down and explaining the notes alittle better.oh ya and your fingers were going everywhere. you said 3rd fret your fingers looked like 4th. sorry
Zxcymn Kirk wish he wrote this lmao. James Hetfield wrote this song along with all the rest of the evil riffs off the first 4 albums. Kirks first riff he wrote for the band was enter sandman, and did not start even recording rhythm guitar until the load album.
Hi! im wondering a thing very much. on around 4:33 you play that part, what you do when you release the two fingers on 7th fret? I cant get that sound.>.>
'500 Thrash and Death metal Riffs' now all uploaded. 41 Parts. 6 1/2 Hours. Keepin Thrash/Death Metal Alive....Perhaps this is the heaviest Riff EVER! Certainly one of the best. good lesson.
depends on the guitar, but u can get nice heavy sounds with different effects (metal/insane effects that come with some amp's), over-drive, fuzz, and god knows what else...
According to Kirk himself, the album version is tuned a whole step and a half down. As in C#, F#, B, E, G#, C# from low to high. Can't argue with the guy that wrote it.
Heheh, dude...you're blasting all these numbers at us, it's hard to keep up with audibly. It's a decent How-To video, and I appreciate you doing it, but I think your explanations are a bit frenzied. Probably cant be helped though, it IS a lot of info to get out. It's like trying to count bullets coming out of a machine gun LOL
I'm not posting to flame you though, it's just kinda funny. Thanks again for the vid, it's exactly what I was looking for.
The songs are played in Standard tuning cause not all of their songs are made in Drop D so they have converted the songs to Standard tuning so they can play all the songs in a row instead of tuning/changing their guitars
I dont think it is recorded in D standard, i think it's Drop D... In one of the Metallica videos they play it in Drop D atleast... I dont really know either but i think its played in Drop D
m169marroquin - I thank you alot for all the sick ass Metallica lessons - you're really great at showing how to produce the proper sound, so don't take this the wrong way, but FUCK ME you sure do studder/stammer alot. Makes it a little hard to follow sometimes...
I obeyed the Mattster and learn this song in no time!Never knew it was so easy to learn and to play! Thanks bro.ROCK ON!!!!!Everyone can rate my comment poor if they want.I'm off jamming to The Thing That Should Not Be!

Koasterking212 6 months ago
I thought this was in B standard?
masterlucario13 7 months ago
@masterlucario13 This song is in D standard on the record and they play it C# standard live.
Most people think it's Drop D in the record and Drop C# live, but it's not.
Still you can play it in Drop D, but it's not as heavy as Standard.
