So I would check your info before you try to call someone out.
The funniest part of all of this was that the unit was on its way home so wouldn't you think that if you were protesting to keep soldiers home you would want to let them COME HOME!!!! It would have made more sense to protest when they were leaving, although that would have been ridiculous also.

The police dealt with the situation wonderfully. They could have legitimately used more force then they did. People can protest all they want but that doesn't mean that blockades will be tolerated. If people set up blockades the police have the right to use force to break up the crowed. The more the crowed resists the more force the police are forced to use. Give'em the taser too i would say !

And in the midst of this several of the Army soldiers dropped what they were doing and and said Fuck the Army. They weren't blind patriotic sheep to go participate in an illegal occupation. They are attempts to end an illegal war that has taken the lives of nearly 4000 American soldiers and caused 30000 American injuries. The police dealt with the situation wonderfully. They could have legitimately used more force then they did. People can protest all they want but that doesn't mean that blockades will be tolerated. If people set up blockades the police have the right to use force to break up the crowed. The more the crowed resists the more force the police are forced to use. Give'em the taser too i would say !

The funny thing is, I was there and I am an Iraq vet. These were not soldiers on their way home. They were moving their vehicles to another port to deploy. And in the midst of this several of the Army soldiers dropped what they were doing and and said Fuck the Army. They weren't blind patriotic sheep to go participate in an illegal occupation. The point of these demonstrations are not to denigrate the troops in Iraq or anywhere else. They are attempts to end an illegal war that has taken the lives of nearly 4000 American soldiers and caused 30000 American injuries. Preemptive war is a Bushite euphemism for what it really is and that is invasion. Just as Bush and Cheney have lied about Iran's nuclear capacity knowing full well for a year that Iran has not pursued nuclear weapons since at least 2003.

While I disagree with the war in Iraq I dont think it is very wise to get in front of a large military vehicle. I guess they are very lucky that they did not get ran over. Next time just protest on the side of the road and let your voice be heard.

So, somehow "the government" has gone to work every day, made its own money, and pays for the ports to stay in working condition? "The Government" is not a person, people pay taxes to support the government, who uses the money to keep the ports open. So without average people, there would be no port. Really, it is the people's port.
