@nordway1000 you are wrong-it was produced in Kiev (Ukraine) (Avian) and in Russia -Ulianovsk (Aviastar) in 1984-2004 then production stopped...Since 2009 production resumed in Russia (Ulianovsk) - alltogeather they got orders for 71 plane to be build.( Wikipedia)...as for Ukraine - you are producing An-148 passanger plane (70-99 passengers) since 2004 which is good plane and since 2007 Russia is too producing it in Voronezh as joint venture with Ukraine -no competition with you but cooperation
I deliver cater food 2 da private airport tri-county n south Florida and have had da pleasure of see n this unique plane for da pass couple of days. It's suppose to leave out 2 day or 2 morrow. It is currently sitting n format of Palm Bch Signature(FBO) located @ Palm Beach International Airport. Da word is dat this plane is use 4 many things world wide.even such things as mercenary engagement per line crew worker@ FBO. Interest n though I don't pertain 2 anything involve n violence. J.W.
Several years ago, one of these big beautiful girls landed at Trenton Airport, near Toronto Canada with Don Dnepr Livery, and it rolled off the tarmac and got stuck in the mud! It took the Canadian authorities about two weeks to figure out how to get it back on the runway! LOL.
Some this planes war chartered by U.S. at russian transport company "Volga-Dnepr" for delivery cargoes to Afganistan. But since october U.S. begin use C-5 Galaxy planes...
I have been working on a new hotel next to the airport in Philly and have been checkin out a AN-124 sitting by the overseas terminal. Wacthed it take off the other day. Very cool!
When GE began delivering engines form the test stand in Peebles Ohio, we used to see the AN-124 on a weekly basis at Airbone Express In Wilmington Ohio (KILN)
to transport them to Everett Washington for them to be installed on the Boeing 777
THIS PLANE IS AMAZING - Its currently grounded at Perth Airport, Getting fixed today. Its been here for about a week, parts coming in from Russia. Bit of luck i might get to do pushback
Because most jets around this size take off at 160-180 mph (sorry I don't know kph), and as a matter of visual perception it looks slower than a Cessna at 170 mph.
I love watching this aircraft land and take off at East Midlands Airport, even better when im airside on the ramp watching it taxi by. Thank for the vid, i should upload some on mine.

Nice video. I was landing in Philadelphia KPHL last Thursday 13-Sep-2007 and spotted one taxing for departure. Interesting and rare to see.

I have also seen this airplane often at Denver Int'l--many times with the nose cone up for cargo loading. She's a big one!!
