lost the screwdriver bit with my skeletool. It was firmly locked initially but over the months the constant use and changeover of the bits made the lock a bit slack. The spring mechanism holding the bit tends to become loose when knocked around while you are busy using the pliers or the knife. It was a hassle to check it every time I closed the tool. Eventually I lost the bit. Ordered new bit sets but was not happy with this design
Great review but you fail appreciate the great carabiner. If you're in thick brush it's a must when one doesn't want to lose the tool. Also, when on a ladder you can clip the tool in it's open position to a belt loop and have readily accessible pliers when, f.e., on a ladder. I also use the Charge but that's more of a bag tool. It's not nearly as convenient to carry.
I EDC the straight edge for work, day in day out, for about a year now. It does indeed perform excellently and is my go to knife as well. One of the few multitools who do a usable decent knife. Just a few observations. You can get really decent torque on the driver if you leave the handle at 90 degrees. Really grips well and feels more comfortable in hand. Oh and I lost my alternate bit from the grip. It just fell out one day. I use the thing hard though and that my only complaint.
Very good and detailed review. I too have seen these and kind of shrugged as I passed it by. After your review I may reconsider my initial impressions.
Very cool. I think that means a lot when you were not really that excited about it, then you get it in your hand and dig it. Having that knife on the outside would definitely be a nice feature.
First impression just from looks, I LIKE, after the review I like MORE, will order this tool in a few IM sure. As for the serrated blade, I'll say I like that feature. Being in Law Enforcement for so long, I seen where serrated blades come in handy, rope cutting seat belts ect. So thumbs up to your review, and to this tool very cool on the cool factor :) ~John
I also have to mention that the bottle opener does indeed work FANTASTIC! Also, the liner lock of this blade has one of THE BEST lock-ups of any liner lock I've come across. I also have the Leatherman Expanse e33T and love it equally as much as the Skeletool.
My EDC Rotation: Skeletool CX, Leatherman Expanse e33T, Kershaw Leek G10, and Case Crimson Jigged Bone Canoe (1 of 3000 series).
Nice complete review, like his tool. Wish my wallet could come near my wish list, right now wish list comes out and the wallet runs and hides in a corner. LOL. Take care and have a great day.
I have the CX version and I LOVE it. I work in an office setting (business casual dress) and the Skeletool is the best knife/multitool I've come across for clipping inside Khaki pants' front pockets. Because Khaki's have sloping pockets, the design of the Skeletool means the CX basically disappears when clipped in the front right pocket. ALL you see is the clip its self and the top Torx screw that attaches the clip. AWESOME!!!! 154CM and a plain edge is worth the extra bucks for the CX to me.
Dude, nice job on reviewing something that has been looked at over & over. Your review videos always cover all the details, but also you're perspective is what sets your videos apart.
I have been EDCing Skeletool for more than a year and I fully agree with your assesments.BTW the cap lifter also works great and the pocket clip works better than for amny forlders. The only drawback I have noticed is that squeezing pliers is not that comfortable because the screwdriver digs ito your palm. Put in the flat bit and them try using pliers and you will see what I mean. Other than that it is agreat tool and I love it.
Nice review Scout..reminded me of when i bought my Juice S2. I really liked the Skeletool, and was sad that it had so little to offer tool-wise. If Leatherman ever jacks the Skeletoo, up just a LITTLE feature-wise..I'm all over it.
Yep, in my edc , I rotate my tactical knives about every month or two, just depending , but two tools I always carry and never rotate, is the leatherman CX skeletool and my Quark AA squared flashlight, absolutely love them and use them quite a bit more than I thought I would need to, lol.

Good vid as usual. That's a beautifully designed multitool, bit short on features though. Nice to see you using the Chill for a pointer! Cheers.

Love your reviews, but I had to stop midpoint... the editing (cut and paste) was making me a little nauseous. Still love your channel though

I have the leatherman freestyle pretty much the same thing but without the biner and the driver. I love it!!!! Try it sometime if you can ;)

I could do without the serrated blade. The pliers looked a little stiff opening and closing.

@beast12101 I remember seeing that in one of your vids. Great tool, and yeah, I can see it taking the place of an EDC blade easy.
