I had to use the Dodge Viper done up to the max to beat him on the canyon race. The Viper is the only car that can pass Darius on the FIRST BEND in the canyon. Its just really hard staying in front for 10 seconds, usually he just cuts inside that first bend and goes past you like 1 second after you passed him. I ended up doinf the 2 stages and won in the Viper by about 2,000 points. I tried the Lancer Evo VIII and Lamborghini Murcielago and couldn't do it in either of those two.

Don't use Exotics to beat him. I suggest to use an EVO IX or Skyline it's the best solution, trust me. The city is easy, if u know how to drive a canyon race, you can overtake him easily!

I suggest using the gallardo with all racing package upgrade. I beat Darius with it on the first try. I never passed him though. Instead of trying to go fast and pass him, try to take your corners without crashing too much. This will make a big difference in the end.

A muscle car can attempt to pass him at the very first corner, but it can be a bit inconsistent. A tuner can hang with him up to that point in 5:19 and use its superior handling in relation to its underpowered speed and acceleration to pass Darius, that point there is your attack point.

I don't mean grandma slow, but slow enough to be able to almost hit the apex of the corner, and then u can floor it out from the apex or a bit earlier. plus, in the second part of the canyon race, when he gets close - let him ram you ;) brings you 5k points :D
