  • i love the 20 rounders. send me yours if you dont like them.

  • They make better ones now....u got the 1st gen.

  • The 20rd mags you have are the first generation while your 30rd mags are the 2nd.

  • I remember I got my first 20 rounder and got home and thought I had a fake P-Mag I literally thought a very reputable store had ripped me off. My 20 rounder so far runs great but my biggest dislike is i cant clip the dust cover on the bottom.

  • i have a spikes tact too!

  • @SKRIBBLE4ME ...thanks bro.

  • I agree I did the same and it kept malfunctioning with steel cases... I rather get usgi metal ones for sighting and bipod use and rely on mpags 30 for other needs from now on..

  • @fox5110 ...I got some C Products 20 rounders with anti-tilt followers. I love um. Much better.

  • All the quality points u mention in difference are the upgrades in the gen2 pmags which are not available in 20 rnd. All 20 round mags are gen1. So u can see the difference for sure. Use the 20 for range and zeroing, 30's for business...

  • @fox5110 ....I used them again last week at the range sighting in. They were acting up again on me, and that's at slow fire rate.....maybe it's time for magpul to upgrade them?

  • @fatboyR6 I have the same 20 and 30 round mags from Magpul and I see what you are saying about the covers and the texture, mine don't fit on the floor plates either and the texture is different? Not too much of an issue especially if you decide to use a ranger plate and I don't really care about the texture too much, you can always stipple it. As far as the follower issue you have, I don't have the same issue you do but, I think the problem may be cuz the 20 round body does not have enough room

  • @fatboyR6 if you open up the 20 rounder the back of the follower is not near as long as a 30 rounder so, it won't have the same leveling ability as the 30 rounder. Again, not sure if a 30 round follower will fit a 20 round body cuz of the size with a full 20 rounds in it? I can check and see what happens if you'd like?

  • i just got mine in the mail today, i ordered 2 30rd pmags, and a 20rd. yes the texture is different but im no critic... i like the 20rd pmag it solid in the hand and it sure is gonna be good for hunting now that they have the 5 round stopper for it.but an opinion is an opinion.

  • Is the MagPul PTS PMag 20 (AIrsoft/PTW Version) just as bad as the normal one?

I want to equip my AIrsoft G36 with a STANAG Adapter, and the 30 Rounders look like shit in the G36...so the 20 Rounders are my choice, but only if they are good quality...sorry for asking Airsoft questions on a Real Steel Weapons video ^^

  • @andromedarr ...I know nothing about airsoft

  • they do seem cheaper but i've never had a problem with them...guess thats what counts right?

  • @kab4485 ....as long as they function when it counts...I have 2 and 1 is good and the other sucks, so luck of the draw I guess...LOL

  • I actually just put 2 rounds in it and pushed from the tips and it flew out just like yours did.

  • @zk360 ....thanks for the comment. I mostly get "experts" telling me how lame I am...LOL

  • @fatboyR6 LOL! I know what you mean.

  • I just recieved my first Pmag20 in the mail yesterday. I think you do have a lemon or knock off because mines totally solid! I agree with the texture being different, it's more matte flat then the Pmag30. But if im not mistaken, the new Pmag30 is able to clamp the dust cover to the base plate. The older first gen Pmag30 didn't have the dust cover storage floor plate. Also, the Pmag20, is still in first gen. I read somewhere that Magpul wasn't going to change or update the Pmag20 at this time. M

  • You repeated the same sentence 28 times, you whiner

  • I cannot find 20 rd pmags mags anywhere!!! I use 20 round steel GI when I hog hunt because I use a scope and stay low. Mail them to me if you fukn hate them lol

  • The 20 round followers have to tilt. The taper of the 5.56 case is handled by the curve of a 30 round magazine. The 20 round magazines don't have the curve that the 30 round magazines do, so to handle the taper of the case the follower has to tilt.

  • Fuck China!

Don't feel bad to talk about those shady crooks

  • You're an idiot. The 30 rounder is an MREV and the molds were changed as well as the overall texture of the mag. The straight magazine doesn't allow for an anti-tilt follower the way the 30 rounder does. Notice how it sprung right back after you stopped pushing on it. As for the covers not attaching to the baseplate, they aren't necessary for anything other than to keep debris out of the mag as feedlip creep isn't an issue with the PMAG. As previously stated, you're an idiot.

  • @MrBiscuitsbrown ....Im ignorant not an idiot. There is a difference. Look at the title. It's in a question form. Thanks for your explanation.

  • Thanks for the reviews dude. I wish I had watched this before buying one. I'm LE and I only bought it to be able to wear it on my duty belt (for SHTF purposes) other than that I guess the quality wouldnt differ much from a conventional 20 rder after watching this.

  • @irondotrod ...they are decent mags, and basically look cool. Other than that they dont come close to the gen III 30 rounders.

  • I bought a 20 in FDE that will NOT keep the feed lip protector on fully loaded. My friend has one in black that has this same problem. After I tried the other 5 protectors I had from 30's I had, ONE of them stays locked.

  • - The P20 does not have the P30's 'm-rev' updates, including the more aggressive surface texture

    - Polymer in the P20 is the same as the P30

    - No straight-bodied mag can have an anti-tilt follower because you are putting a tapered cartridge stack into a straight tube

    - Even if you added the new floorplate you could not mount the Impact Cover to the bottom due to its angle (required by the straight body)

    - Don't know why the bolt is not locking back- contact us for a replacement

    Magpul Ind.

  • WTF ?

Wow, the poor quality of the p-mag20 is obvious here in this video. Im shocked by this. Ive been buying P-mag30s because of all the good reviews about them, and they do seem durable, but i have not used them yet.

But I hold on to my old USGI alum. mags. I am upgrading them with magpul improvement kits.

The improvement kits for the GI mags are great.

  • magpul updated the 20 it doesnt have tilt, and the reason the floorplate is different is that the follower is different

  • Ya know, I don't think you have enough AR's. Lol

  • @trumpetdood ....one I bought and one I built. Now its all about more uppers and more uppers!!!!

  • @fatboyR6 This is why I need a job.

  • good vid man good points you made....

  • damn those rounds just flew out... POS!!!!

  • If you have an older pmag you will probably have the same issue" that the 20 round magazine has. They probably have not updated the design or this particular mag is an old design.

  • Thanks for the info

  • good to know. I had no idea they were different

  • @808Arsenal ....me either, so I figured I would make the video to see what the deal was. So the 20's are the old gen 1 style and my 30's are the new gen 3 style with the gray followers. The 20's have the old black followers in them.

  • @fatboyR6 aha....wow, i guess there was a huge difference between gen 1 and gen 3 eh? I've only got the gen 3's myself. I guess it just shows how much magpul has stepped up their game over the years. Makes me respect the company even more now, knowing that they did not stop improvements until they had a completely solid and bulletproof design at a good price.

  • Hmmm. The 20rnd is not a gem.

  • My 20 rounders are the same way. Occasionally the last round wont lock the bolt back. Keep in mind though your comparing the 1st gen 20 rounder with the latest REV M 30 rounders, so there are bound to be some differences.

  • @NIKON777 ... Thanks for the info. I guess o was spoiled by the gen 3 mags. They are much better. Plus the 20's don't have the fit and finish as the 30's. Lots of injection marks and sharp edges from them. I filed them smooth.

  • Cool video!

  • @hakjason ....thanks dude

  • They let you have brand new 30 round mags but you need a bullet button to take them out. Makes zero sense. In my state we don't have the button and can only have mags that were made pre 94.

  • @semiautoriflelover ....gun laws are so crazy. Hard to keep track of the madness!!!!

  • @fatboyR6 In my state unless I have a receiver made before 94 I have to pin and weld a muzzle brake instead of flash hider and pin the stock so it doesn't go in. Stupid laws.

  • actually check out these mags dude.

    cheaperthandirt(DOT)comMAG052-36.html

  • @SocomElite187 ...I've looked at those. They have some pretty bad reviews so I stayed away.

  • Just get metal army surplus mags, there ugly , but it works.

    Sick A-R by the way.

  • you got some made in china shit yo

  • @lynette1953 LOLZ

  • change the follower. you can get the green followers cheep. they look like older gen.

  • @glocklife ...that reminds me of something I forgot to say in video. The followers in the 20's are all black, and my 30's are the gray color. All my different color 30's have gray followers? I didnt show the ugly injection mold blimishes on the 20's too.

  • that's the first gen 20's the latest ones have the lip protector/dust cover storage cutouts on the underside...wanna get rid of them?

    PM me

    Seeya

    Dude

  • @80spodcastchannel ... I got ripped off then. That sucks.

  • @fatboyR6 naw man...all .. ALL mine are the first gens. I can live without the worry of "did I lose the dust cover I hung under the mag I used as an impact tool on the ground when I went prone?' seriously the main reason FOR that dust cover is long term storage, only a few of my mags EVER stay loaded long term.

    ROTATE your gear...

    seeya

    Dude

  • @80spodcastchannel ....cool. So I didn't get ripped off. My mags don't stay loaded long either. LOL. I don't use these for anything but target practice, so they don't really see action like my 30's do.

  • @fatboyR6 not really, you just got old stock.

  • @80spodcastchannel I never had a jam with Colt or Adventureline 20 round GI mags. The followers are great with those.

  • @semiautoriflelover Ahh I'm sitting on a heap of NEW C products

GI spec mags with the orange followers. but their my go to in extremely cold weather conditions, my standard field is with the MAGPUL's 30's, the tan 20's I have are for inside CQB, where the extra length would hang up, or for bench rest usage. some tools are for some jobs..and then there's MAGPUL...some tools are good for all uses.

    Seeya

    Dude

  • @80spodcastchannel In my state I can't have the new ones, only stuff made before 1994. Do you have any pre 94 dated mags or 20 or 30 rounders that are undated? Some times they date them inside.

  • @semiautoriflelover dude pm me ..maybe we can figure something out for you..

in the PM tell me what state though I am curious who doe s "DATE THING"

    seeya brother

    Dude

  • I know it is a pain in the ass, but you need to contact MagPul asap. I know for a fact that this is not the product they want to produce. Let me know if your results with them are not favorable, I have some contacts there.

  • @lambdog76 ...thanks dude. I guess since I opened my mouth I should see this through to the end. But what is my complaint? That I think the mags suck? One doesnt lock the bolt all the time, but I dont know which one it is.

It's just so cheapo compared to the 30's, so I figured I would let people know.

  • @fatboyR6 I'm sure it would help them if you expressed your concern about the feel, the last round not holding open, and the poor bullet retention (which could easily translate to feed issues during loading). That the lip covers do not have reliefs on the bottom could be a problem with the mold vendor. They can't just fart out the 20 as a cut down 30 as the 20 round app is for precision shooting, so they shouldn't be cut any slack.

  • I'll trade you a colt 20 rounder for your soul.. lol jk

  • @PBandHoneySammich ...LMAO!!!!

  • They look like the older model ones, The new 30 rounders have lower profile waffling and the dust cover retainer on the bottom and the older 30 rounders dont have the clip retainer and the that notch is also on my older 30 round mags. Not sure if they have released a new 20 rounder but thats def an older designed Pmag. Im going to ask my guy tomorrow if they make the newer version in 20.

  • @marcelloviscardi .....I just bought these mags a month ago. They came with the covers, so I figured they are the new version?

  • @fatboyR6 As the later comments says, first gen mags.

  • 4 letters.. USGI

  • Shoot it!!!

  • Interesting... thanks for the vid.

  • i dont care for plastic mags
