  • humour falls flat? get out.

  • terrible review

  • Personally, I really loved the style but it'd be nice to see more animation. It felt too much like an animatic at times but that style of animation did pay off with the gnomes. I was also disappointed with the shortness of it since I finished it under 3 and a half hours. None the less, I'd love to see more of Puzzle Agent. As an adventure gamer it was a nice change.

  • Jesus, I'm having a hell of a time getting my comment through. Thanks for the kind words about the voice acting. I too hope the pilot gets picked up as that would mean a steady gig for me ( a rare beast indeed in the voiceover world).

  • I'm sure you've been asked this before, but do you have a Nintendo DS? If so, you should check out the two Professor Layton games that are in English! Fantastic games, sort of like this game, but the story in the Professor Layton games are pretty good as well. I have had hours and hours of brain bending fun with Professor Layton, and I think mostly anyone would like it, but you most likely especially would due to your love of adventure games. Anyways, excellent review as always, keep it up!

  • The "Guess the time of explosion" puzzle is not broken, and yes, It CAN be solved by logic. I figured it out correctly on the second try. 2:12 possible answers is a good ratio I think.

Also the fans of Grickle (Graham Annable) - how has a channel on youtube - would find the game more satisfying in the story part.

  • @LordVidra A puizzle can't be solved through logic if that logic leads you to multiple different answers while only one is correct, which that puzzle does.

Although you may have gotten to the answer, perhaps you simply haven't discovered the additional 'correct' answers that, for no particular reason, the game does not accept. A friend and I have discovered three that fit the rules given, and I assure you we were both very thorough and methodical, taking notes and working things out properly.

  • Come to think of it, this is a LOT like Professor Layton. 3 hints, separate puzzles relying on logic, not items, and static environments.

  • @SpaceChinchillaFilms

Telltale Games stated that PL was the big insperation for this game, since there are no pc adventure games like that in the market (or not many at least)

  • Good review, tho i must say puzzles are not normally me, I can cope with the puzzle lite games like resi or silent hills but all out puzzle games wld most likely put me into a frothy rage of frustration. Each to there own i guess.

  • Yay, this guy is back. There was a drout of his videos but now he is on a roll. One of the best reviewers out there. Good job

  • i pull out my pubic hair when frustrated. but i recently ran out of pubic hair to pull out. so i guess it's on to the armpit hair. bring it on, puzzle agent!!

oh yeah, good review and all.

  • Why does he call the PC version of games "win version"?

  • @imbadatnames390 Win...dows? Maybe puzzles are not your forté!

  • *waits for someone to stroll in and 'correct' the spelling of 'humour'.

On a serious note however, this is another great review. In spite of the critical tone with which most of your reviews are delivered, it is still extremely refreshing to be presented with a frank overview rather than the typical bias and overly-positive reviews.

  • I like your reviews a lot, have you ever played Deadly Premonition? I would love to hear your opinion on it.

  • I didn't know that grickle made a game the animation in the game is just like his movies.

  • I don't think I will ever like a game like this.

  • I just finished this game today for the second time. I found it pretty good. Some puzzles will be really easy, and others will just baffle you, so I can't say there's a leveled path for them. I must add that the voice acting is great, but there's just too many dialogue (and scenes of you moving around) from one puzzle to another. The presentation is great and the music fits the game well. Overall it was a good experience, and I agree with fatman's verdict.

  • looks alot like professr layton, my favourite puzzle games

  • Fatman, what do you think of the Professor Layton games?

They're kind of like Puzzle Agent but for the DS and Japanese.

  • @SpaceChinchillaFilms I am aware of them but I have never played them. The first one was only released in Europe recently. I plan to buy it when I can.

  • Looks good, I like the style. Can't help feeling the amount of animation is in the wrong sweetspot though. Not enough to convey motion, too much to be like a comic that presents simple progress.

  • It really does look like Professor Layton...only missing the charm, and with less interesting puzzles. Not bad though XD

  • looks like professor layton

  • Cant wait untill you release your own game.

  • @6Nutsack9 Me neither! But it might never happen. We are working on it - on a few games, actually, but it just might never happen.

  • @antisocialfatman Don't be so negative. You should really know how awesome you are.

  • @theREALChadsexinton Thanks, but awesomeness really doesn't have much to do with it, I think. It is more like motivation.

There is a lot of work to do on it - a LOT of work, and there are things we can't do by ourselves, like the voice acting! It will be hard work!

  • @antisocialfatman What do you mean 'we'? Do you have your own team of devs? Do you guys meet up or have a website? I'd like to see what your part in the game-making process is (if that's quite alright).

  • @LTWalker108 There are two of us, hotlesbianassassin and myself. We don't have a website yet, but we are working on a site to be launched early next year.

I'm doing all the coding and dialogue/story and HLA is doing all the art, plus he'll likely be doing some dialogue editing. We are both doing general gameplay/design.

I am also capable of making the music, if I must, but we're hoping we'll be able to get someone much better than I. Same with sound effects.

Voice acting is the big unknown.

  • @antisocialfatman i never agreed to this!!!

and i think we should get elton john and george michael for the music, so that the gayness of the whole thing will be complete.

  • @hotlesbianassassin I think you are right. Let's not make a psychological horror game, let's make a celebration of our love for each other!

  • Very enjoyable review of yet another not so well known game. Well done fatman.

  • Hah, so you reviewed it, neat!

  • Good review as usual ASFM, I love your reviews.

  • Good review

  • Another brilliant review.

  • what do you think of Fear Effect, o man of fatness?

  • @MegatronYES I adored it when it first came out, but I replayed it about three months ago and I just found it intolerably awkward.

They should definitely do a modern remake. It was a great game.

  • first view and comment lol good video
