the shot of tony's face as he throws the dirt on jackie's coffin is incredible. It makes you think what kind of a man this guy is. His morals, his views on life. Then you see him when he looks at his son, showing that he loves his son and family more than anything else. And previous to these 2 shots how smart he is in dealing with business within the mafia. Take notice that he made the decision to make junior the boss because of advice that melfi gave him.

This is one of the most beautiful scenes in cinema. It captures that moment when AJ really has to accept what he comes from. He now knows his father is in the Mafia and when Tony winks at him it shows that even though his dad is a criminal he loves him more than life itself. Chase's musical selection never disappoints.

Tony should have stepped over Uncle Junior and let him know that Jackie made him acting boss right away, no pretending that Junior was boss at all, then he forces Uncle Junior to kick up to him along with Mikey Palmice and Chucky Signore, that would let them all know that trying to kill Tony like they originally did was a fatal mistake before they even tried it.

@riddick7819 - then the Feds would have went after Tony instead of Uncle Junior. Letting Junior be the boss was a very smart move by Tony. It avoided any possibility of a war in the family, it also kept the feds off his tail. Also, it made Junior happy and Tony loved his uncle very dearly.

Nope. He was the boss in the pilot episode (which was made in 1997) but they changed his role to captain in the following episodes in season 1, which were made in 1999 once HBO picked up the show.
