There is no shame in not wanting to fight. Those of us that did, chose to do it, for whatever the reason. For those that hate us for it, I'd like for them to take this with them. I didn't fight for your freedom to curse me, I fought to try and save a 19 year old young man, I had known since he and I were in a sand box at home. I fought to try and bring someone I had met in bootcamp from New York. We fought for each other. If you hate us, when the time comes do your own fighting.
just a thought from the Revoulutionary War and Vietnam and the streets of middle eastern cities today. the term "Armed Combatant" can be of a grey area. Sure, VC is definatly out to kill you. as are the extremists.every once in a while someone will flash a weapon.is it best to shoot before you know? he might be out to kill you or in a rare event help you. other "civilians" may be waiting and you may have more allies. in truth. the montenyards were nothing more then "armed" combatants practically

Glad to know I not the only one. Glad you made it back, and all the 'Nam vets. And to those who still "haven't come home" yet. You're right, unless you've been there you'll never understand.
@jimEdee1 Ieve never set foot on a battlefield,i dont think i want to honestly given the choice. pictures and footage even in black and white were enough to disgust me alone. i fear that this will become vietnam, actually and im gonna start seeing rocks thrown at the troops. we already desecrate funerals. thank you for your service. i just hope this generation dosent pull the same crap that happened in vietnam
Thanks to all soldiers and shame on the protesters of the world that would spit on we the sholdiers. We don't choose war it is generally cast apon us from elsewhere.

its obviously about germany. but even writing a song like this gets some respect, and it made me reflect. we yell if we dont get something. we dont have the holocaust or the berlin wall in our closet.we do HAVE the a bomb. but for most that method was quite quick. ones that didnt go off first...yeah . "I Was Raised In A Small Town, Just A Little German Boy. Never Cared About History. Just Cared About My Toys. And I Never Felt Responsible For What Happened in a War they made me feel guilty even though i wasent born. i remembered that time i was 18. when i heard the army call. and i learned alot about killing men and drinking alchol. it was a like a game of cowboys, the others were the good guys. i was bad. aint nothing wrong. to love your home like anybody in the world (Cont)
@marlinshooter82 i second that. im gonna use some lyrics from a song i like. bear with. its a good piece of advice as it dosent only affect them. multiple post warning
im not bible thumping here, and actually im dragging bushido into this as well.
im not sure i want to get myself killed for religion or honor purposes. no use for a dead hero. id rather keep living and find some other way to fight.
ive said it time and time again. War is evil. never justifiable as you are taking human life, for EITHER side, whoever it may be. but as evil as it is, sometimes sadly, there is NO diplomatic solution, and it becomes neccesary. quite sad. and it will never end until ALL life is gone. i dont hate any middle eastern people or brand them ALL terrorists. but, its hard to reaason with people who have no concern for thier own lives, much less others, and hide among people. innocents get crossfired.
People sometimes try to associate governments with the people who live in that country . Lets be real all government is just a big Mafia preying off the less fortunate. This does not take away from the real people of that country . One Zillion thanks to all those who have served in our military who most times are forgotten when then come home lamed and crippled for only political interest only to be forgotten :( We love you !!!!
My husband arrived in Vietnam and mere boy of 18 and came back 23 months later a grown man. He has not been the same since. Each verse of this song describes him. God Bless all our vets....but especially the ones this song is for.
the problem with Nam was that the rules of warfare were so different. it really messed with the guy's heads because the enemy could be anywhere. it was the one war, where you really could expect to possibly be dead any second. even in your own base. you weren't really ever 100% safe. and then if that isn't bad enough, you get home and your own country hates you. the Nam vets are tragic victims of history.
nice video and one of my all time favorite songs.......Vietnam vets were and still are treated like shit for something they didn't even have a choice in. POW MIA NOT FORGOTTEN!!!!!
I have this on tape. I haven't listened to it for quite a while. It always brings tears to my eyes, as memories come back. Anyone who wasn't there can never understand just how it was. Thanks for the song!
FIRST OF ALL THANK U TO ANYONE WHO HAS SERVED IN ANY WAR!!!!!!!!!! YALL ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED BUT I WULD LIKE TO SAY THIS... FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT REALIZE THAT VIETNAM VETS WERE SOME OF THE MOST HATED VETS EVER IT WAS ONE OF THE FIRST WARS WERE THEY USED KIDS TO TRY AND KILL AMERICANS AND THEY HAD TO MAKE A DECISION TO DIE AND LET THE KID LIVE OR TO DO THE UNTHINKABLE AND FOR THAT I THANK U!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN AND AM HAPPY THAT PEOPLE MADE A SACRIFICE FOR ME!!!!!!
we have a new nam it's called the middle east and a president just as dumb as the one's who started the war in nam, dont people see whats going on what is it goint to take to wake the people up.read books by william w. johnstone home invasion, phonix rising and others and see whats going on out there.thank u to all the men and women who were there,my ex was he wasnt the same when he came home, god bless the ones who didnt come home . thank you toni maucelli sandoval, colorado
@TheWW32012 No, There was no draft. It's is an all volunter Army. When I enlisted there was no one holding a gun to my head or anyone's head making them sign there life away. We all did it on our own free will. If anyone regrets it that's there fault of not knowing what they signed up for. I know what I was in for signing up for the Infantry.
"I was bought up differently I couldn't break the rules"
This song tells how not just the Vietnam Vets feel but every Veteran from all wars past and present. They've seen so much violence and death that it's scarred them for life. They fought for my freedom, for your freedom, and for the freedom of all who live in this great country. And if you dont have any respect for them I got a few words for ya: GET THE FUCK OUT OF AMERICA!
@johnrambo55555 rofl, you babble about Freedom and then as soon as someone does something YOU DON'T LIKE, you demand they leave the country. WELL F*CK YOU AND YOUR BABY KILLERS TOO! YOU WERE TOO STUPID TO KNOW YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT WAS F*CKING YOU OVER. TRY SOME CRITICAL THINKING YOU MINDLESS ZOMBIE.
@sawdudeful Ya know what? It sounds like you're tryin to start an argument. Well it's not gonna work. I'm tired of people tryin to start a fight with me because of my opinions. So if you don't have anything nice to say then fuck you. I aint gonna argue with nobody from now on about a comment that they didn't like
enjoy fan made videos such as this while you can, becuase. somehow historical footage, ads, political videos, news broadcasts are somehow magically copyrighted and illegal. and now you cant take anything of anyone elses videos and build on them, this works to two ways. it puts out more originality, which is not a bad thing, the thing that is bad, the instant you would use something, like... the picture in the video start, by thier logic becomes illegal to use. and you will only see it on THAT video.
maybe a conspiracy bit,but i will refuse to believe bin laden is dead becuase the corpse is not shown as a picture for "disturbing reasons". for either 1 one of two reason, we will offend our enemy,or there is none.
so...its not okay to show a guys brains being blown across the wall......but pictures of the holocaust are acceptable. i cannot make ANY sense of that, and it will probably be taken as a cook theory as 9/11...but i put nothing off the table. until i am absolutely sure
well, id have to say then, dont target them, target the idiot who believes they are not human, a political tool, and sends them to die in utterly pointless conflicts that hurt us more then help
What have we learned from war not much, young men will be put in harms way as usual. However the U.S. military Indusrtrial complex has learned alot ,drag the war on and on and they'll make more money with missles tanks hummers bullets replacement parts etc. Bring our men and women home NOW
@fastacid714 It's kind of funny, I was just thinking the same thing a short while ago before I found this video...it seems like the war's NEVER going to end and I was thinking maybe that's the point, keep all the young and able bodied men and women over there, stretch it out, more money for more lives, etc. what's it all for anymore? Hussein is dead, bin Laden is dead, they're working on freeing his wives, but when it's going to end?
@TheBookWorm1718 There will never be an end to war in its sense until we are completey gone.
The reasons for war generally come down to bad politics,a grab at land or recourses, shoving culture into nation by phsyical non phys means,Religion, some people just like to kill as sick as that is,Creed and Ethos, and my least favorite, complete genocide.
@fastacid714 think of the logic this way. and it may sound cold blooded but lets say you bring them home without completeling the objective does that bring back the ones who died.and they died so thier country would lose, and the families .what are you going to say to them their dead and cant be brought back, making thier life a waste.War is not a pleasent buisness or a game.Fight to win,or its a waste. and i do not believe in wasting life just for a shot in your political direction
@duke3632 A nuke is a defensive weapon by design, as if someone lobs one, everybody unholster thier guns or so to speak. and the worst part of a nuke is it defeats any idea of taking ground. there are far more effective ways of eliminating the enemy,or even worse disabling them. and the collateral damage is far less if precisly used. Also, and this is the one problem i have with killing bin laden and its not on ethical or moral grounds a dead man is useless get all you can out of him then off em
@duke3632 THERE ARE MANY VETERANS TO THIS DAY GOING THROUGH HELL BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPEND IN VIETNAM .IM JUST THANKFUL WE LIVE IN A COUNTRY WHERE WE HAVE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN WHO BELIEVE IN THE VALI\UES OF AMERICA .AND IT ALWAYS PISSES ME OFF TO HEAR SOMEONE TALKING DOWN ABOUT OUR MILITARY I BELIEVE MERLE HAGGARD SAID IT BEST " YOUR WALKING ON THE FIGHTING SIDE OF ME"
Long live the American Soldier and those who willing support them all- Join the Tea Party regardless of your past and current political position and join those who want to get America back in control of the People- Liberal , Moderate or Conservative - doesn't matter at this point -- Monkey-brained politicians should have never been elected to government office- Vote them OUT! Its the best weapon for keeping our innocent children out of conflicts (like Libya) in the future. VOTE THEM OUT 2012
Its funny this song talks about the people who went to Canada to avoid the war. When my grand dad went over to America from Canada to fight in the war.
@PrairieMcFox Sadly there were those who chose to sit out in cowardly ways by staging riots, attacking the troops, putting money in college just so they could stay longer whilst the poor who couldent afford college were drafted, we won all the battles, but we lost due to the media making it look like a waste of life, which it was, after not accomplishing our goals, all of them died in vain. The Media by all apperences to me is making it look like another vetnam is being waged
@AigisFan it was not in vain! our goal was to hold off the north and to attempt to take them and i wasnt a waste of life because they held the north off and attempted to take the north and did not succed!
@mrcloudpaw i consider anything less then victory becuase of the media making it look horrible and men dying not completing thier ultimate objective a loss. can you get those men back? it was a waste becuase they lost in the end, and you can replace tanks, planes, artillery, ships, guns and ammo. but if you ever figure out a way to replace men or bring them back from the dead, let me in on it,
Sorry to bust your "Patriot bubble", but 9/11 was an inside job and can't be used for the reason to be in Afghanistan.
You should really start to listen to a radio hoast and conspiracy RESEARCHER, not "theorist", Alex Jones and the experts he interviews on his daily talk show; the USA (and Europe) is on the verge of collapsing and it all adds up with British bankers, 9/11, bail outs, media lies - simply just plain criminals running your government.
@Thetan1974 1st learn how to spell ( hoast ? ) try host .. i bet you wait for santa and the easter bunny to come see you... 9/11 was not an inside job it was done by nutcases who want and still want run the world and that is who my brothers and i fought in afghanistan
" it was done by nutcases who want and still want run the world and that is who my brothers and i fought in afghanistan"
Oh, did you specifically meet those who planned 9/11?
Sorry, but what you just said is the Santa fairy tale for 1000s of reasons. But, I know, it's hard to face something as horrible which makes you loose your identity as one of "Kissinger's pawns."
Everything. The same elite conspirators such as Kissinger, who both covered up a real investigation of the JFK murder and 9/11, were also in on having a "peace" price for his hidden demonic role in the Vietnam war.
It all adds up. You seriously need to, just TRY, listen to Alex Jones and his interviewees. Things are about to get hectic. You have been warned.
Also check out congressman Ron Paul - they try to demonize him and lie about him because he wants US back on track.
@Thetan1974 Amen brother, it is heart breaking, but you've got to get past the lies of the past 50 years, in how the establishment turned a great nation into one big psych-op, full of lies, half truths and division of playing people against each other.
Fortunately today we have the internet to find people with real truth and ideas, so that we can break the control. It is critical to do your own research, listen to many points of view and to take care of your own.
i am an Iraq war vet only 29 years old and when i was in school when i learned about how vietnam vets were treated when they came home i was pissed now that i am a war vet it pisses me off even more, my thing is if u dont support the troops or have respect for vets then you should get the fuck out of our country
@07iraqvet This is a grey area for me,i dont support afghanistan but still support those serving over there nonetheless, if that makes any sense. personally i think were in the wrong country after seeing how great an "ally" pakistan is :/
@1123tin Who hates vets? Nobody I know. And believe me, most of my friends are the liberal types I'm quite sure you despise. But I've never heard anyone express any hatred for the boys that went and fought, whether you mean back then or now. Hatred for the war? Sure. But nobody hates the vets. The Jane Fonda, spitting-on-soldiers days are long over, sir. We just don't want any more young men to die for a threat that was never even a threat.
@1123tin I don't hate you, brother! I don't know you, but I love you for what you have done for our country! I have a grandfather, father, and oldest brother who fought in WW1, WW2, and Vietnam, so I have a deep appreciation for what guys like you have gone through! Believe it or not, there are some of us that TRULY are thankful for the men and women of the U.S. military! YOU ARE THE BADDEST M.F.'ERS on the planet, BAR NONE!
Why do be argue about sensless issues? I believe everyone has a right to voice their beliefs and I also believe everyone has a right to who they choose to be their partner. And the whole "I believe gays shouldn't be in the military" thing is over with, I served two tours in Afganistan, and am going for a third, one of the Marines in my unit is gay and I'd bet he's a better man than most of whom argue that gays are an "abomination."
@macbainc God bless you son, you sound like an intellegent guy wearing Forest green. Semper Fi to the Corps and hoping you get thru your tour without a lot of grief.
my grand father was in 3 wars6 terms between the 3 1 in WWII 2 in Korean War 3 in Vietnam in the Army i have his diaries of all 3 wars. when i see movies about these wars it really pisses me off because they dont have any idea what our soilders went through my grand father was a cleaner his last term i remember some of the things he told me i still cant imagine what was done he retired as a Lt .Col in 1978 he pasted away in 1988 so to all you vets out there thank you for every thing peace
My brother did three 13 month "tours" in Nam. 30 months in-country. He was so eaten up with ptsd that he drank himself to death. His name isn't on the wall, but it should be.
@misssiberia69 My condolences on the passing of your brother.A few years ago I lost a friend to the aftermath of agent orange. His name should be on the wall too;along with your brother and many others.
as the song suggests there are some soldiers who simply cant leave the battlefield. remember them and keep them in your prayers and blessings as war has scarred them and they will never be the same again.
Awesome I was stationed at 3rd Field Hospital -Saigon Vietnam--this song always brings back memories -some good some not so good but I wouldnt trade the experience for anything in the world
again. i have no problems with gays in uniform, i have a HUGE problem with being politically correct and announcing your sexual habits to the entire squad as most soldiers arnt tolerant and it kills morale. there is no reason for me to shove whatever i screw in your face is there? so why does this even an issue. its pc. thats all it is
i know, but theres a chain of command. theres always someone at top. and as much i loathe i have to give credit to EVERYONE,including the CIA,The SEALs,The White House and even as it pains me to say it obama. dont get me wrong however. he still wont get my vote next election
And on that note some good news. Bin Laden is dead. the blood debt is repaid. what i want to know now is why was pakistan was going behind our back....hell ill even give obama some credit (i dont believe i just said that but its due sadly) however the timing seems convient and this could have been done earlier. and as Bin Laden learned "Special Forces:Mess With The Best Die Like The Rest"
there have always been gays in the military but the point is they kept to themselves what they knew would be a distraction. they were riflemen first homosexuals second and i respect thier service. why does the rest of your squad need to know if your homosexual or not. does being so get you better treatment? does the enemy treat you better? the answer of course is no. its a morale killing anti military move by politicians thats all it is
This country could use a couple more rednecks instead of self proclaimed liberal intellectuals who sit around with their thumbs up their asses and don't get anything done
This is one of my favorite Charlie Daniels songs. It reminds me of my cousins who did not make it back from the war.
For all you people who have problems with people in the military, you need to know that most of them want peace more than you will ever understand. I've lost a lot of brothers in wars (MSG, ret, army)
By the way, I have had family fight in every war this country has been in, trust me, you owe them your freedom.

@Robbi159 He had no right to release the information he released for ANY reason. When you are entrusted with top secret information, you enter a sacred trust, not just with the Government, but with EVERY man and woman who pays your salary. If he did not agree with the things he saw then there are ways out of the position he was in. Dishonerable discharge or the like. If he was seeing illegal activities then there is a chain of command to report too. "Leaking" the information risks Brave Soldiers
although there is 2 main beefs i take with our armed forces now,it has nohingto do with individual soldiers as much as policy:
1.Dont Ask Dont Tell gone. while i have no problems with gays, and KNOW theyve been in just not openly they needent announce it to the squad as some people arnt as tolerant and would be bad for morale.
2. Officer "Diversity" apperently we have too many white officers. would you want to serve under a LT whos only qualification is being of race or color. i wouldent
I don't get why gays don't like the don't ask don't tell. It helps em out I know me and a lot of the guys I fought with would not allow a gay to serve with us because you cant count on em when it gets down to it. I was in Fallujah in '03 and I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted my life depending on a queer who would probably end up folding and not doing his job.
@akfjeo Personally it dosent bother me if your gay as long as you put your rifle before your preference, but they have to remind the whole squad who gets a little eerie, and just to back your argument im agreeing with you,PVT.Bradley Manning was gay and released intel on people which most likely got people killed just cus he couldent have his lover. now we are homophobes for wanting to punish this traitor jackoff..and more will come mark my words
@AigisFan Are you kidding me? Bradley Manning did not release the info because he was gay, he released it because he wanted to get back at them and was losing his mind at that job. He wanted to make things right.
Thats exactly why gays shouldn't be in the military because they cant handle shit by the point he gave out that info this war was pretty tame so he folded easy
@akfjeo What has being homosexual have anything to do wether you can handle shit or not? I know some gay men who could beat the living shit out of A LOT of straight dudes and not even flinch. Fuck off you ignorant cunt.
@Robbi159 if you want to make arguments, attacking people personally will only turn people against you. you are not the first person to call me a hick. Obama called me one, and half my state did not vote for him, although he won,its not a good tactic to personally attack people. just some insight
@AigisFan Because you are one? You think homosexuals are shitty people and cant do their stuff correctly. There is no difference between gays and straights other than one likes the same sex...
@Robbi159 you need to read more into my posts if you think that. i salute all women and men in uniform regardless of what way your door swings and ive KNOWN theyve always been there, but now they are coming out openly and this will destroy unit cohesion, look at things from a unit commander's view point. morale is VERY important. before telling me how the military works please read The Art Of War. thank you
@SeveringAnthony That is just a stereotype within the gay community, are all straight men buffed out hardcore guys who hunt out people to fight with all the time? No? Didnt think so.
@SeveringAnthony There is a subculture within the gay community that focuses entirely on masculinity. Just because you're ignorant and equate the entire gay community to what you've seen in the media's coverage of gay pride parades doesn't give you adequate information to generalize any group of people.
Look up "Bear (gay culture)" on wikipedia. Don't get me wrong, I think homosexuality is wrong, but unlike you I'm educated on the issue.
@SeveringAnthony The term "subculture" doesn't denote a size. The "sub" prefix means "below" or "secondary", so I don't know why you emphasized that as though it has anything to do with size. The Bear community definitely constitutes a sizable portion of the gay community-- and that's just gays who emphasize masculinity. There are also many REGULAR gay people like Sir Ian McKellen who played Gandalf in LotR and Magneto in X-Men. Please, stop talking and just educate yourself.

ive said it time and time again.

One Zillion thanks to all those who have served in our military who most times are forgotten when then come home lamed and crippled for only political interest only to be forgotten :( We love you !!!!

the problem with Nam was that the rules of warfare were so different. it really messed with the guy's heads because the enemy could be anywhere. it was the one war, where you really could expect to possibly be dead any second. even in your own base. you weren't really ever 100% safe. and then if that isn't bad enough, you get home and your own country hates you. the Nam vets are tragic victims of history.

@TheWW32012 No, There was no draft. It's is an all volunter Army. When I enlisted there was no one holding a gun to my head or anyone's head making them sign there life away. We all did it on our own free will. If anyone regrets it that's there fault of not knowing what they signed up for. I know what I was in for signing up for the Infantry.

enjoy fan made videos such as this while you can, becuase. somehow historical footage, ads, political videos, news broadcasts are somehow magically copyrighted and illegal. and now you cant take anything of anyone elses videos and build on them, this works to two ways. it puts out more originality, which is not a bad thing, the thing that is bad, the instant you would use something, like... the picture in the video start, by thier logic becomes illegal to use. and you will only see it on THAT video.
AigisFan 4 months ago in playlist AigisFan's Favorited Videos
maybe a conspiracy bit,but i will refuse to believe bin laden is dead becuase the corpse is not shown as a picture for "disturbing reasons". for either 1 one of two reason, we will offend our enemy,or there is none.
so...its not okay to show a guys brains being blown across the wall......but pictures of the holocaust are acceptable. i cannot make ANY sense of that, and it will probably be taken as a cook theory as 9/11...but i put nothing off the table. until i am absolutely sure

What have we learned from war not much, young men will be put in harms way as usual. However the U.S. military Indusrtrial complex has learned alot ,drag the war on and on and they'll make more money with missles tanks hummers bullets replacement parts etc. Bring our men and women home NOW
fastacid714 4 months ago
@fastacid714 It's kind of funny, I was just thinking the same thing a short while ago before I found this video...it seems like the war's NEVER going to end and I was thinking maybe that's the point, keep all the young and able bodied men and women over there, stretch it out, more money for more lives, etc. what's it all for anymore? Hussein is dead, bin Laden is dead, they're working on freeing his wives, but when it's going to end?
TheBookWorm1718 4 months ago
@TheBookWorm1718 There will never be an end to war in its sense until we are completey gone.
The reasons for war generally come down to bad politics,a grab at land or recourses, shoving culture into nation by phsyical non phys means,Religion, some people just like to kill as sick as that is,Creed and Ethos, and my least favorite, complete genocide.
AigisFan 4 months ago in playlist AigisFan's Favorited Videos

Also check out this site. please: v911t. org

pyramidheadkitten9 7 months ago
@pyramidheadkitten9
Thetan1974 7 months ago
@Thetan1974 Amen brother, it is heart breaking, but you've got to get past the lies of the past 50 years, in how the establishment turned a great nation into one big psych-op, full of lies, half truths and division of playing people against each other.
Fortunately today we have the internet to find people with real truth and ideas, so that we can break the control. It is critical to do your own research, listen to many points of view and to take care of your own.

2. Officer "Diversity" apperently we have too many white officers. would you want to serve under a LT whos only qualification is being of race or color. i wouldent
AigisFan 9 months ago
@AigisFan
I don't get why gays don't like the don't ask don't tell. It helps em out I know me and a lot of the guys I fought with would not allow a gay to serve with us because you cant count on em when it gets down to it. I was in Fallujah in '03 and I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted my life depending on a queer who would probably end up folding and not doing his job.
akfjeo 9 months ago
@akfjeo Personally it dosent bother me if your gay as long as you put your rifle before your preference, but they have to remind the whole squad who gets a little eerie, and just to back your argument im agreeing with you,PVT.Bradley Manning was gay and released intel on people which most likely got people killed just cus he couldent have his lover. now we are homophobes for wanting to punish this traitor jackoff..and more will come mark my words
AigisFan 9 months ago
@AigisFan Are you kidding me? Bradley Manning did not release the info because he was gay, he released it because he wanted to get back at them and was losing his mind at that job. He wanted to make things right.

@Robbi159 yes it is a stereotype and stereotypes are started by generalizations which are made when a majority acts a cetain way

@SeveringAnthony No a stereotype is usully comes from the "louder" group, in this case, the group you were speaking about.

@Knarf009 SUB-culture which means a small group within a MUCH larger group
SeveringAnthony 9 months ago
@SeveringAnthony The term "subculture" doesn't denote a size. The "sub" prefix means "below" or "secondary", so I don't know why you emphasized that as though it has anything to do with size. The Bear community definitely constitutes a sizable portion of the gay community-- and that's just gays who emphasize masculinity. There are also many REGULAR gay people like Sir Ian McKellen who played Gandalf in LotR and Magneto in X-Men. Please, stop talking and just educate yourself.
