Always liked this song yet was not a heavy Led Zeppelin fan. Something about this song just grabbed me.....especially as he gets into the end and says" I'm in the mood......"
@TheSicilianSisters I actually like him by himself better I was like u not a big Led Zepplin fan but, him great! Not bad too look at either if you're my age!!!
@JohnGLewis1964 I understand Led Zeppelin perfectly well thanks. Granted Led Zeppelin wouldn't have been Led Zeppelin without him but Robert Plant was, in my opinion, the most obnoxious member of the band. I know all of Zeppelin's recorded songs and love all but maybe one or two of them. This is just empty.
@BillThrills321 With all respect to Robert... I suppose that he may have been one of the more personally forceful members of the band, Led Zeppelin, yes. In this negative, selfish, light, he reminds me of myself.
Generally when a great band splits up, the quality of the music (of the individual members) does go down.... But I don't see why you so dislike this song ("It's empty")... I think it is a reasonably pleasant, harmless song.
If you don't like it, turn it off. You can also change a radio or T V channel, Move to someting you like, This is the U S A.I am 65 (the new 45) been there: Done that. Rick
@BillThrills321 Zeppelin always had an abiding interest in "softer" songs and melodies. They even did a revision of one on their very first album... and I forgot the title of the song, but it was the best (song) on the album...(!)
So I believe you are incorrect; you don't understand Led Zeppelin very well. See "Thank You"; "All my Love", even the "Rain Song" (and featured on Robert's video the group put out in a movie compilation, 1975).
Sorry, I am not so up to date - it's been 10 years

I NEEDED this song. As if I didn't love Robert Plan enough already. I know you won't read this, but thank you

My dad had this song on a tape when I was a kid but I never knew who sang it. Eventually the tape got destroyed and I researched this for years...which is really hard when you only know the melody. I heard it about a year on the radio. Im 25 now so after about 15 years of trying to find this song, I feel like I have really accomplished something.
@haile3211985 that would be especially frustrating given that so much of this song's melody is one note! (not busting on the song here - it's totally cool actually)
@haile3211985 one of my favourite songs on the album and was released as a single which I bought and still have 12" superb song possibly my favourite on the album which had Big Log on it...simply exquisite and beautiful song...blessings to you and your Dad :)
@haile3211985 Its a sort of syth song with almost nashville like western guitar backing. These guys in that era had to play for decades before they earned the right to produce. You would never have songs like this today. Plant had been through a whole evolution of sounds from 1969 through 1983..20 years of playing. This was his lay down low album. I might be inbetween your dad and you. Some dude played this for me when I was 16 years old in his college dorm. That made me want to go to college.
@haile3211985 Its a sort of syth song with almost nashville like western guitar backing. These guys in that era had to play for decades before they earned the right to produce. I was hooked on it. .
@haile3211985 I also spend a handful of my spare time looking for songs my dad had on cassette and vinyl.. So I feel your pain! lol.. One song I had a heck of a time finding was "No Quarter" by Led Zep.. That one took me about 10 years.. and oodles of Robert Plant and Led Zep songs to sift through! So kudos to you!!

So after buying every Zeppelin album I was depressed not to have found it. Until 3 years ago, I'm 28 now BTW, a friends mom gave me all her old records. This album was amongst them.
