Go back and look at where most of those early games that Utah won were played. Mostly in Salt Lake City. The rivalry didn't start regulary switching back and forth between Salt Lake and Provo until the mid-1960's. Overrated? BYU has the longest win streak in the nation, back to back 11-2 seasons and Mountain West titles, as well as back to back wins over Utah. Utah's run is done. It's all about BYU domination now. A Smith also led Helix High (with Reggie Bush) to 3 state championships. Smith was undefeated in his high school career. wow that is good coaching. At SF they are trying to change his mechanics and they just need to leave him alone. At the U his mechanics were amazing cause of Mullens.

The Utes dominated the rivalry in the 20's through the 60's. byu barely ever beat Utah until the early 70's. When Lavell Edwards came in about that time, then byu dominated Utah in the 70's and 80's, but even then, Utah and byu tied the last 2 decades at 10-10 each (which were the 1990's and the 2000's), ............................

@bartsthoughts, .............And even though Utah and byu tied this previous decade at 5-5 each, Utah still has the upper-advantage because of the 2 BCS bowls that they won and had 2 top-five finishes over this last decade. I believe that Utah's early success AND current success over this previous decade gives Utah the better all-time bid for the better team of the "Holy War" rivalry. Go Utes!!!

The BCS system sucks. I'm a huge cougar fan and I think utah could have had a shot at the national title game that year if there was a better system. I think they had the best non bcs conference team to be in the BCS. Better than boise state and hawaii. Mountain west needs some respect. Both Utah and BYU need to be good if that is ever going to happen. I'm just glad we snuck a national championship in back in 84.

As a BYU fan, I have to give credit to the 2004 Utah team. They were a great team who should have played Auburn for the #3 spot in the country instead of lackluster Pittsburgh. I was glad to see Urban Meyer leave. I would have gladly paid for his plane ticket to Florida.

Both BYU and UTAH are great schools. Some years Utah is better some years BYU is better. I am a big Utes fan but anyway you slice it the holy war game is always good. Both schools were founded by Brigham Young.

Alex Smith and Utah were only successful because of Urban Myers. Otherwise, no one would have heard of Alex Smith. He's even less than a servicable pro-Qb. Better than me, but not better than even Brian Greise.

Not even close. Urban is a great coach, and we wouldn't have been undefeated without him but as for your "smiths a less than servicable quarterback" comment, try this on: With smith playing the whole game, (dont try the seattle game because he only threw one pass before leaving in the first quarter) the niners are 2-1. Without, 0-3. Obviously, he is a good qb if they cant win without him.

Heisman candidate doesn't translate to Pro ready. What happened to Andre Ware? The qb from Florida years ago (don't remember name), Troy Smith (last year's winner). I still submit that Alex Smith was a product of good coaching more than talent on his own. SF will be looking for a new Qb in the next draft or the following. GO BYU. Utes are pretty good too.

A Smith also led Helix High (with Reggie Bush) to 3 state championships. Smith was undefeated in his high school career. wow that is good coaching. Dan Mullens is amazing and I agree that A Smith was coached phenomenly by Mullens but there had to be a ton of raw talent in him. At SF they are trying to change his mechanics and they just need to leave him alone. At the U his mechanics were amazing cause of Mullens.

Usually Utah is the better team, but for the past 2 years, BYU has been the better team. This year Utah has the talent, we are just lazy and need to get it together. I don't really have anything against BYU, but it's fans are some of the most arrogant people I've ever met. Geez, ya win one national title 23 years ago and your head is still swollen.

2) University of Utah hasn't had a BCS appearance since 2005 (2 years)

Actually, if you check the date, this video was posted before the season even began. And to colbygfp, Utah didn't get "owned", they lost by 2 points. If anything, BYU got "owned" in this video, losing by 31 points!
