OMG! I used to wear these up until about the age of 10.In Scotland we call them "rovies".Would you believe that I actually have an adult pair in my home right now.
They were a gift from my mothers auntie before she passed away over a decade ago.
I have not been able to find a good adult slipper pattern. Do you have one on youtube? I have tried to follow a pattern I got, but I don't understand when it comes to the heel. any suggestions or video? Thanks
TWJ.... you are great....... i have not done this one but i need to learn more from you teach ... i guest not one can be more than my teacher , couse my teacher knows her wisdom what she its goin to give for all her people . nothing wrong with your videos theyre exelent exelent exelent........ i have found myself you teach too those do not know intaierly . i found out myself your videos how to sitch for those whom dosent know .thanks ....merry cxmas and happy new year.
I d like to make one of these as a present for a 6 mths old baby boy. Pleeease, if someone knows what size (length) would be appropriate, let me know because I can' t measure his feet:))
Very nice and easy. Thanks Teresa!I would like to do a baby pants in crochet. Where can I get a pattern. I have done some search but have not found any. Thanks.
@misshope2012 The pattern is in two places. You can follow along with the video or you can find the link to the written instructions in the video details below the video.
i love this! Are you thinking of making it for adults. I have some relatives that always complain their feet are cold and this would make great gifts for them. They' re in assisted living and this would fit the bill perfectly for them.
Each 8 year old is going to have a different foot size. You will need to modify the slipper to the custom size( fit ) of the the 8 year old you are making it for.
You would add more rounds. The instructions are posted on my crochet blog with three places identified to make the slippers longer. You can also use a larger hook to make the slipper wider around or even add a couple of extra stitches if you need them wider.
i am confused. seriously. i can make anything square. can anyone help me with this??? im makeing my baby sister(torrie she's in some of my vids) slippers!
@Sohfloren I do not think the child will fall because it is in crochet. You need to use a suitable thread. Teresa always recommends the threads for the different projects, but you can use your discretion to suit your needs.
Also, in the written instructions, it says to chain 3 in round one. I had to see the video to find out the right way. Hope this works out for me. I tried to increase the number of increases in rows 1-3, so my stitch count doesn't count. :) Thanks for all the great videos, if it weren't for you, I'd still be floundering. :)
The foundation crochets that you just did...I've been trying to get that...and I just cant. Do you have a tutorial where you show how to do that? I really couldnt see when you just did it. I kept playing it back and it looks like you chain 2x's and then go back into the 1st chain to double crochet..is that right?
This is awesome! My son is two, but his feet have always been too big for the footie pjs. He also refuses to sleep under a blanket, so in the morning his feet are freezing! This is going to keep his little feet nice and toasty warm, Thank you!
You are welcome. You can even applique some ears, eyes, nose, mouth on the slippers and make a simple face and create a little creature that kids will love.
Teresa thanks so much. I follow your blog daily and was so excited when I saw your post. Can't wait to make it. I'm 14 pairs down and 4 more to go for christmas on the regular size. thanks again Tammy

That means that you crochet with two at the same time.

What is your question?
tjw1963 3 years ago
Will a young child or toddler slip or fall easily wearing crochet shoes/slippers/booties?
Has anyone any experience? Please comment!
Sohfloren 3 years ago
My kids used to wear them all of the time and never had any problems. It all depends on if you have carpet or hardwood.
