  • the wire + efuge efuge ******** oleyyyyyyyyyyyy offfffff beeeeeee

  • the wirw 10 puan Efuge Efuge 10 puan şampiyon

  • psssssss

  • Geia soy re terasteie STELARA ATHANATOS!

  • S T E L A R A S ...our LEGEND !!!! <3 <3 <3

  • And I'm not even Greek.

  • RIP Frank Sobotka. One of the, if not the best characters that has ever graced our television screens! Man I miss this show!!!!!!!!!

  • @binarystar21 Interesting comment. Why did you rate Sabotka so much? I dont think i could take him seriously enough half the time because he kept me in mind of andy belfleur from True Blood

  • @mrevilpants maybe he overstated it a bit, but D'Angelo, Sobotka, "Bunny" Colvin, they are all practicly victims of the constant failing of the sysyem, and are the only people trying to change it... and Frank is maybe the most honest of the all characters, a true working man, completly selfless, and like most of the characters a "criminal" not by choice, but by necessity... thats my (uninvited) two cents :)

  • @Radeffc Thank you for sharing. Could you argue that Carcetti ultimately falls into this category?

  • @sevensixsixtwo He is willing to change things, but not at the cost of losing voters and his job as a mayor... that there is one significant difference... Carcetti is ultimately motivated by his personal ambition and goals, just like McNulty, and i don't mean that as moving through the ranks, i mean that as being the best detective in the unit and ALLWAYS solving the case

  • @binarystar21 man frank sobotka is a good charcter, agreed. but season 2 sucks compared to the other ones!

  • @thebunk2012 its a slower takeoff, but once it happens you are HOOOKED! ;-)

  • Geia sou re stelara!

  • hes saying " she left she left"..

  • Soulful music!

  • Respect from sweden and serbia

  • what means "efuge" ?

beautiful song, greets from France to all Greeks ! x)

  • magnifique!!!

  • Everyone who thinks The Wire is the shit when it comes to TV and HBO, go back and watch Oz and Rescue Me and watch Third Watch too. Third Watch wasn't on HBO, but if you want to know what it's really like to be a first responder, watch that show. It got a lot of critical acclaim, but not enough viewers.

Anyone who thinks Oz was gay, go get your sexuality checked. If you can't watch it without getting hard, that's the the show's fault.

  • @bahramf real talk, oz was the most disturbing entertaning show i ever watched. and the whole naked thing just proves how real it is.. this is prison we talkin about, not disney land

  • @bahramf Oz is freaking brilliant. The acting, violence..some episodes made me feel sick to my stomach.

  • I just started watching the wire a couple months ago. The whole way through the second season I was thinking how much better the first season was, and all the crap starts raining down in the episode with this song... even better than the first. Phenomenal show, and perfect choice in music for the episode.

  • I never thought I'd love a heartbreak song so much. It's so upbeat.

  • I'm Greek and everytime i hear this song i miss Greece

  • a re elladaraaaaaaa k stelaras os ta perata tou kosmou

  • Thanks for the lyrics ... makes the song even better. It sounds so bleak and the lyrics match perfectly. Love this tune!

  • I love Kazantzidis' voice, and love the bouzouki!

  • The Wire makes everything better, including this song.

  • alllll the pieces, matter.

  • Frank Sobotka would be appalled... he thought the unions were gettin busted back in '02??? Thank God he's not alive to see this political jerk off in Wisconsin tryin to make himself somethin by destroying the right of the worker

  • @bradin187 dude....you realise hes an actor right?

  • I am a Turk, and I fuckin love this song! LOVE IT!

  • @nightwatcher82 you are not alone kardeşim, I love it too, çok güzel şarkı.

  • @erdiea ben de varım lan 3 gün önce izledim the wire 11 i hala loopta şarkı :D

  • R.I.P Stelios Kazantzidis, our Greek brother. Hellos from Anatolia, Turkiye.

  • The Greek is not even Greek... LOL

  • R.I.P Frank, you are a great boy

  • The best singer ever!!

  • Awesome, I am currently watching the complete series of the wire on dvd, and heard this song and I got up and started dancing Greek ( I am Greek), I couldn't believe such beautiful music would be played on HBO, what a great series!! Stelios Kazantzidis parents are from the same area my dads parents are from in Pontus. Now Northern Turkey.

I was just dancing and crying, this music kills me!!!

  • him we dont know....

the one he calls boss, we know.

  • I always listen this song before killing someone.

  • @sendow01

    lol

  • we used to be a country where we built shit... now we just slip our hand into the net guys pocket

so true... industry and immigrants built America, not financial engineering and good ol boys network

  • R.i.p. The Wire, They will be missed.

  • I DON'T FUCKING WANT YOU WITH ME NICK. ! ! ! GO HOME !

  • @MrMcGibletts022

Ain't no shame in grieving..as long as we leave room for other things!!... Bubbs!!

  • You don't fuck with Brother Metuzalem

  • Such a great tune even though I have no clue what he's saying.

This was used perfectly on The Wire. But then again, that show does everything perfectly.

  • oh man i felt so sorry for frank sobotka in this scene. the whole plot of season 2 is just enormously great.

really great montage at the end.

  • When was this song in Sopranos? I forgot.

  • @jullsan Was at the Wire. One of the last episodes of the 2nd season...

  • @jullsan such an obvious troll, you're quite the handicap

  • @gt2e

lol troll? I dont remember hearing this in sopranos.

  • @jullsan I think it is in the sopranos during the scene with Carmela dancing with Furrio and again when she fantasises about him

  • @jullsan All you have to say is ok bitch?

Spiros, Sergei & The Greek ftw

  • what a great song, leave it to The Wire to pick amazing songs every time. Except the rap songs, they pretty much all blow.

  • @Poopsmith01 You cause me great amounts of facepalm.

  • PROUD TO BE A GREEK

  • im not even greek or from that side of the world but i do love this song. i heard it on the wire. and the guy sings with so much emotion you can feel. any one know what he is saying?

  • @sertsu24 I feel the same way!

  • @unknownuserXXXXX OMFG SAME HERE

  • @unknownuserXXXXX @sertsu24

    Lyrics are here gugalyrics(dot)com/STELIOS-KAZANTZIDIS-EFUGE-EFUGE-LYRICS/320535/

  • @sertsu24

    Its a love song.

  • @sertsu24 Efige Efige means she is gone , (she is gone i have lost her i am asking for her and wondering in the streets) and many more from the biggest Greek voice ever.

  • @sertsu24 no.but it sounds very good.its all about love and hate in Greece and all over the world.peace and stay cool.

  • @sertsu24 All i know it's a love song.

  • @sertsu24 he is the best singer of all time in greece, without exaggeration. Has singed about 5000 songs. Google him!

  • @sertsu24

That's so great to hear my friend!!. I am Greek; and it's very moving to read that the music of our beloved Stelios crosses passed linguisitc/cultural barriers, and connects straight to the heart:). He's saying.."Ena sidero anameno eho stin kardia; ine I thikiso agapi pou me tirana"..meaning.."I have steel on fire in my heart; it's my love for you; and it torments me". "Efige"="she's gone".

  • @Vasilis719

it shows that music is a universal language. Me being an African American and just appreciating pure good music by a different language and culture. it speaks volumes

  • @sertsu24

It makes very happy to connect with people through the beauty of the gift of a great musician/person like Stelios. I'm a musician as well; and am very deeply influenced by African American music like Steveie Wonder, Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, Maxwell, etc. All soulfull music is of the same God:)

  • @sertsu24

I have a hot (piece of) iron in my heart

It’s your love that tortures me

In my entire life I will have

    A burden on my conscience

For (because of) the so many mistakes of mine

That turned you away from me

  • @nafsika2004 thanks :)

  • @sertsu24 You dont have to be greek to love a song. Just like you dont have to be british to love zeppelin or beatles. Music is international.

  • Poor Frank!

  • There is a district of South East Baltimore called Greektown.

  • Dear God MrGeorgiep. . .your uncle is Kazantzidis??? Stelios wasn't even Elvis. You simply can't understand how important that guy was to a lot of people not just in Greece! There are Greeks living in Australia who play his records like they're brand new, they mean something to people, they talk about human experience. My grandfather is one of them and having grown up with it, I love it too (my grandad got to sing with him once). It's HONEST music from a very modest human being. he was god!

  • @tskolarikis he was good, but to cal la human, God, u wiill repent one day. i love stellara, but u cannot not comapirise!

  • Oh awesome. . . another fundamentalist. Firstly buddy, when balanced people say that someone is 'god' they mean it figuratively. . not literally. Secondly 'god' with a lower case 'g' is simply a word that describes something or someone that is all powerful (or talented). . . not the same as 'God' in upper case which is obviously what you're reffering to. I used the word god twice, go check. I honestly CANNOT stand people like you who make everything about religion when commenting. Get a life!

  • @tskolarikis go worship gays and skirts, my greek friend.

  • Very mature.

  • @tskolarikis takes one 2 know 1, my friend :)

  • the best series i've ever seen!!! HBO has always had high standards in its productions!!!SOPRANOS,BAND OF BROTHERS!! i'm greek and this song suprised me when i was watching that episode!!

  • AGREED! The Wire is unbelievably great. I don't watch alot of television myself because there honestly isn't that much "type" of shows or movies I like. I'm picky I guess. But the wire is just 1 of them shows that portrays so much everyday realism in an entertaining fashion that it's just hard to explain.

You named a couple of my favorites as well that I watch over and over on a regular basis. Sopranos I haven't seen all of yet but i'm on season 6 episode 4. Almost done! Great show as well.

  • @gerasilaos now how greek are u, if this is the only thing that made an impression??? the first greek tune in in tfhe backround was his as well, damn i got shocked, and i am bulgarfian.... peaced to all, but as theyr say in the series, i9'm not even greek...! So they "macedonian",Bulgarian, Albanian or fuxking serbs, LOOOOOOOOOOLLL

  • @Tarikatlar i dont understand the point of your comment...i just said that i didn't expect to hear a greek song in an american tv series(and yes i know that the music heard at the cantine was greek)....now for the last phrase of yours i don't know what you're trying to say....In your opinion what thing should make an impression to me?????TARD

  • u should expect it ! the wire is the sickest best show out there

  • @gerasilaos He can't help not making sense, he's Bulgarian.

  • @gerasilaos check out SIX FEET UNDER aswell

  • @AGE0FQUARREL I've watched some episodes of that series.I liked some of them but I found it a little bit depressing and ''heavy'' ...I reckon that it has very interesting characters though so I might give it a second chance! :D

  • @gerasilaos HBO just purchased the idea...its not like they made it up.

  • efige efige means ''she's gone''

  • Thanks for the translation. I'm an American that don't speak a word of Greek, & even though I can't understand the words to this song.......I just like the feel & sound of it. I could listen to this day.

Does that even make sense? LOL.

  • @unknownuserXXXXX greek is not only a language, it is science of life

  • @unknownuserXXXXX why.are you born in America.and your parents don't speak Greek or anything.why haven't they spoke to you in Greek.

  • Thats my uncle ya'll greek elvis!!!

  • The title of the song is not "Efige Efige" but "Ena sidero anameno" (=a fiery iron)

  • His voice is sad but beautiful. Like he's yearning for someone/something.

  • I love this song, es extraordinario.

  • One of the best songs ever to be soundtracked to a TV scene. The eastern melancholy in the song really highlights the tragedy of the fate of the Sobodka character.

  • @Carloshache What's eastern about Greece?

  • @merkowaty1 Greece is in many ways more similar to the Near East (Turkey, Syria, Israel-Palestine, Egypt, etc.) than it is to Western Europe. Music and food, for instance. Not in every way, but it definitely is not simply a "Western" country.

  • LoL!

  • R.I.P Frank Sobatka you tried to do a great thing.

  • @GTSTWINCAM16 yah frankie boy just trying to make some extra cash for his fam !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @GTSTWINCAM16 did it have a face? did it had hands? then it wasnt us.....

  • @Sasha99 your fucking retard thats what, you thick cunt you're little better than a fucking parrot

  • @gt2e wtf is this? i was quoting the series.......

  • @GTSTWINCAM16 what????

  • @gt2e

    What do you mean, "what????"........?

  • ta leei o lester.

    ta spaei to tragoydi.

    epos to wire.

  • This song sounds so powerful.

  • this takes me back to my youth growing up on the greek island of kastos, i can still smell the olive groves... ole'!

  • a-m-a-z-i-n-g-

  • This song was perfect for the ending to episode bad dreams, amazing how it was put together

    love the song

this guy stelios i hear was like the greek version of elvis presley

  • i wouldn't say that he was more like tha poor man singing songs about pain etc

  • LEGEND!

  • awesome song, can't find it anywhere else, thanks for posting it
