I heard this for the first time this past week when the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra played it... I fell in love with it. And the eight horns they used. :)

This was used as the opening theme to the early 1950s TV series titled "The Big Story" which featured dramatizations of front-page stories from newspapers around the country

Channel 2 (or 11) news once used this as its theme during the closing credits back in the 1950s. I remember shots of kids playing in the streets as the credits rolled down.
