  • To mrhead. The ppl on death row are not Christians, they are atheist and antichrists. Was the Son of Sam a Christian? Was Manson a Christian? Name me one Christian that has ever been on death row. There's an infinite gap between a religious person and a Christian. Christians sin, but they are not on dr.

  • @cmpresents Actually several serial killers became born-again Christians, among them Son of Sam, Jeffrey Dhamer and Ted Bundy. Several others including members of the Manson family like Susan Atkins did as well. Most of those three denied blame for their actions, blaming porn or the theory of evolution. And according to Christian theology, they get to go to heaven for their faith alone while people like the Dalai Lama go to hell, anyone who finds that just is sick.

  • In the real world, which is the one one that I live in, atheist are a-moral, and I experience atheism from the moment I wake up, to the moment I go to sleep. According to atheism, humans are evolved savage animals, wow, maybe they are right. Just read the news paper, go into a bar, make a business transaction, go to your local mechanic. You will find atheism everywhere.

  • Stalin was an atheist, period. He killed because he hated God and his people. You did a terrible job explaining Eden, what makes you think you are right on this video. Atheist are a-moral, that's why they are a-theist.

  • @cmpresents

Its funny how you claim atheism and amorality are synonymous when Plato debunked the link between religion and morality 399 years before Jesus was born. Stalin hated God and his people? He was one of the first leaders to recognize the State of Israel, and he killed people for disagreeing with his Marxist-Leninist ideology whether they be Christians or fellow atheists because many of his victims were atheists themselves as they were Marxists.

  • @occamkant This is a great topic. Good has many different meanings including Genuine; real, Competent; skilled If you believe God exists and created the universe then he can be called good. I think your arguement is more concerning other definitions of good Worthy of respect; honorable for example. However, it is a common practice to respect military leaders if not for their decisions for their positions. God's position will always be as soverign over us.

  • i wonder how many religious people on deathrow compared to the number of atheist

  • Great stuff! - Subbed! ;o)

Yahweh is good... the bible TELLS me so.

Yahweh is bad... the bible SHOWS me so.

Yahweh's actions speaking louder than Yahweh's words.

    True.

  • Didn't Stalin want to create a society free of religion?

Not that I think that makes some greater statement about atheists. I don't, and I think it's wrong to try to malign atheists by mentioning Stalin, etc. But, I do think naturalism can easily lead to moral relativism, which is indeed dangerous.

  • Stalin's motivation was that he didn't want any competition.

Moral relativism is a fact - though of course we may differ on the precise definition of it.

But the best / strongest moral codes can always be based on the concept of: How would you feel if it was done to you. You know, like the golden rule.

I don't want my stuff stolen, and I don't want to live in a society that allows that, so I don't steal and I expect others to think the same way. For the most part, they do.

  • I love your presentation. It's really zen like with a touch of modernization. Way to use your head O.K.

  • another great video! nice quality too, id trade my left leg for that camera ;)

  • "What the fuck is a bear doing in the middle of the east, anyway?"

    LoL

You, sir, are one of my favourite YouTubers. :)

  • i am so glad i subscribed, another great rant =)

  • nice video occam

  • This is probably one of your best vids sir. Looking forward to more.

  • Good is that which promotes life, evil is that which destroys it. It's just as simple as that. No exceptions. Therefore, all major religions are warts on the ass of the world. They do not promote a healthy life. They promote death as the ultimate goal. They literally can't wait to die to go to paradise. Hard to believe that anyone over the age of 4 actually still believes in any of them. Do they still believe in Santa Clause? At least Santa brought me a Nintendo. Just my view.

  • Actually, I have to disagree with you a little bit. The muslims seem pretty happy to die and go to paradise - lots of muslim suicide bombers.

But Christians seem pretty scared to die. Think about when there is a big accident. People are always so relieved to be alive, or to have their loved ones alive. I understand that from an unbeliever's standpoint, but it doesn't make sense for believers, unless their belief was weak.

That's actually a good thing for us, if they don't really believe.

  • that is a very good point. Maybe on a subconscious level, they know it's all fiction even though they deny this?

  • Exactly. That's what I'm hoping.

  • Occam, I have two things:

    1. What camera you're using? very good video quality!

    2. Please make videos more often.

  • The camera I shot this on is my Canon 5D Mk II - it's a DSLR, but it records nice hi-def video. Plus I get to use nice Canon lenses, so you can get a much nicer picture.

You don't get as much manual control over things as you do with a full-featured video camera, but it's quite good for what it is.

And I am planning on making more vids. Thanks very much for watching! ;)

  • Great vid , however I don't think your going to get any christian video responses.

  • It's not all that bad to kill innocent children, if they get in the way of the war, because they'll go right to heaven.

    Assuming heaven is real.

    Great video!

  • very good video and speech :) Good job, OK.

  • The very concept of their god personifies cognitive dissonance, are we surprised that this ripples through every other thought process theists have?

  • Might makes right.

It is interesting the Old Testament is filled with these 'elohyim, mighty ones, whose judgements and actions are always right. And what makes them right? They are mighty, they have armies of men with swords and spears and they are able to enforce their judgement on weaker men.

I've listened to VERY bright Christians jumping through hoopes to equate the God, 'elohyim, of the Old Testament with something more than brutal tyranny.

Maybe they are programmed that way?.

  • There is probably a survival advantage associated with yielding to stronger men rather than opposing them. And emotionally, it might be easier to imagine that the strong man was right and you were wrong rather than just admitting that you feared for your life. Maybe the fear goes away when you join the strong man that you fear and then percieve the strong man as being on your side and being a protector or benefactor. Not much different than the way kids do it on the playground.

  • It could be seen as supporting the leader of your tribe.

It is certainly easier to sleep at night thinking that the leader of your tribe is a good guy, so perhaps many of these protestations of "good" are the theist trying to convince himself, more than us.

  • I just thought of something else. Don't small children learn that their strong parents are good, protectors. Even abused children regularly excuse their parent's behavior. Children that ae unjustly punished find ways to emotionally deal with this. It may be a survival mechanism from birth.

  • did u get a new camera? the resolution on that was kickin'!

oh yeah, i agree with all that stuff, god is worse than all monsters put together, good thing he isnt real.

  • Actually, I did - This video was recorded with my Canon 5D Mk II. Pretty good for an SLR, eh? ;)

  • yea, it looks great.

  • here's a joke for you, what's the difference between God and Hitler? Hitler wasn't made up.

  • lol

  • You sir, are a fucking genious.

  • Thank you very much, Krank!

  • Profound observations as always - pointing out the apparent paradoxes in religious way of thinking. The attempt to explain why god is good, although he has caused deaths, is called theological apologetics.

  • Thank you, dew!

  • They want to avoid that like of thinking at all costs because they believe it's blasphemous and God will punish for it (talk about irony!)

Besides thinking is hard work. It's easier to just dismiss the idea and go with the flock.

  • That's true -- also, it's harder to question something (or someone) that you've emotionally bought into.
