@BrooklynStyle106 So you want to use the mixer for the vinyl and have the midi working with the Traktor 2 software to control it. Seems possible. Try asking the question in the Traktor website. We are sure someone has asked the question and possibly come up with the answer and a solution. Let us know what you find out.
@GIOVANNI71able You probably are talking about updating the Firmware on the NS6. Download the latest version of Itch from the Serato Website and you will be on your way; not too much work. Let us know how it goes. You can also go to our dedicated NS6 Itch page on our imixmag.com website for more up to date information.
@imixmag everything came out great , but know I have a problem with installing serato itch , but i think its my computer because its loads slow when installing in my laptop. It loads half way and freezes on me. ANY HELP OR ADVICE?
Hey I just bought this Last night...and I love it. No problems so far, just a little getting used to...though I do have a question...on the pitch itself, when I put the knob to the middle, the little white light is supposed to come on, meaning that its at 0.0...but are the little lights supposed to turn off? There are times when I have the pitch right at 0.0 (on both sided of the deck) and they seem to turn off and then it comes back on when I have a song ready to play...?
@imixmag No sir...I did notice that the light does not come on when a track isnt loaded...but while im mixing, and Im using the pitch at different percentages, then when I do go back to 0.0, the white light just dosnt come back on. I hope im not confusing you...does that make sense?
@djlexx86 okay, now it's clear. Of course you're on the latest firmware and version of itch. Go to our dedicated NS6 page on the imixmag website. It has more up to date info.
Will get back to you on the lights when we look it over.
@imixmag Ok,..thanx for your help, other than that It has given me no problems YET...Its only been some days now, so ill get back with you within 2 weeks to a month...I have done a lot with it already and its been great...thanx again...let me know what you might be able to find out.
@Beatkaus Wow, thanks for volunteering yourself. What qualifies you as a real tester? Better yet, put a video up of yourself explaining the reasons you qualify as a real tester. How about it???
@feisualize I'm almost sure you can; get back to you on that one just to be sure. You can also use any computer speakers for your output or any ipod/phone docking station which has auxiliary (aux) in. You'll just need to correct adapters.
@imixmag thank you for your time and quick reply to my question. at this moment I dont have any computer speakers since im just using my imac's build in speakers..
@feisualize It doesn't have to be expensive speakers. Any pair of speakers will do the job. You can buy powered speakers and just plug them in. Gemini and American Audio are two companies which make good and affordable powered speakers. Good Luck
@whenallturns Thanks for commenting. Those who know DJ equipment and how it should respond know exactly what the video is explaining. It's funny how a video that doesn't show any details and praises a product gets great responses but one like this one on the NS6 which states the truth gets ripped up by those that don't even have the NS6 or have true DJ experience.
i can't believe i got to the 3rd review video!!!! I was so excited about buying this controller by any other video execpt (and only) this video. and guess what i am still buying this unit. I can't believe this guy has (or is even advertised) by a website (which by the way sucks!!!) Any how, you wanna rate something? well i rate this video -100 if u want a tempo to go down that low. Ps!!! is this guy even a dj??? stop making complaints and start djing instead bullshittingggg!!!!!
Why are you compairing the NS6 to Pioneers CDJs. Its not a CDJ. Its a controller, and a fine one at that. I am going to look around for your Pioneer controller experience on YouTube. I have both. The NS6, and the DDJ-S1. I love Pioneer. I have been useing there CDJs and mixers for years. There controller is not near as nice as the NS6. So I want to hear what you say about the DDJ-S1. If you say its better I will flip. Its plasic and not up to par with what Pioneer puts out.
@zephyr427r Thanks for commenting. The goal of the Pioneer CDJ was to respond like a turntable, and it does a great job of doing that. The goal of a controller is to also to respond like a turntable or the industry standard Pioneer CDJs.In the video it clearly states that I'm not comparing Pioneer and Numark Controllers, at least not yet. Check the review on the Pioneer DDJ ERGO V. Will not compare Pioneer or Numark controllers until the next itch update which is needed badly.
@zephyr427 Thanks for commenting. Most videos you are referring to aren't reviews, they are overviews. The goal of any controller is to emulate a turntable, and since they have -100 it is a feature controllers should have. These aren't complaints these are reviews based on facts. Once you buy the NS6 let us know if you run into any issues. And if you you have any issues we won't say that you're not a DJ or suck. We'll just see them as issues and your assessment of the NS6.
@zephyr427r You right mate, I had DDJ T1 and it sucked the only good thing was syncing, I bought NS6 instead and I must say the only problemit with NS6 I have is that I recieve the error message by windows7 that the program needed to close even I closed it myself other than that it works perfectly just the anoying message. I don't know about others but it seems a lot of cheap laptops out there. I use my laptop only to work wth NS6 and have used every settings to optimize windows7
@imixmag its a memory issue if it stalls in the middle, if it was an itch problem it would not open at all, if its a ns6 problem you would not get a response wit the unit
I just sent my ns6 back to get thoroughly checked out for multiple irregularities...loosening my crossfader, audio dropouts, skip function never worked for me (tried the skip function on 2 pc and 1 Mac and still the same result). Had problems from the start...soon as I upgraded the firmware (like the quick start manual instructed) that's when it started. I spent hours trying to get itch to recognize the ns6. I had to call numark for help. Once they got it to recognize, I had no audio. I unplug
@steviebsdjservice Thanks for sharing your experience. Please join us on the imixmag facebook page and share your experience with us. Through shared experiences and shared knowledge we grow as individuals and bring a general forum where we express a commitment to expect the best from the equipment we use.
@keazzey Thanks for responding. These aren't complaints, these are known issues with the NS6 and itch. Would you rather see a bs review about how good it is only to find the flaws after you purchase it, I think not. As DJs we strive to be great and we should expect the same goal of excellence from the equipment we purchase. I'm not upset with younger people taking over, in fact it makes me proud that the younger generation seem to more creative and professional than the DJs of the past.
@keazzey Thanks for commenting. Do you have any specific questions or feedback on the commentary? If you do, I'll be more than happy to address any of them.
Hello guys! I just bought my NS6 3 weeks ago. The equipment is good, but is not for a professional use. I notice a problem. If the scratch button is turned on, and you put your hand close to the platter, the music is gonna stop!! you dont even touch the platter with your hand or forearm, like 5 centimeters away from the platter, and the music stops. It happen because the platter is not touch sensitive, is thermal sensitive. so if you put your headphone on top, the music still playing
@caiofogliene Very good assessment and we also noticed the overly sensitive platter issue which we addressed in our full review on our dedicated Numark NS6 page imixmag.com/ns6seratoitch.html Thanks for contributing and remember, DJs Make it Happen.
ok i have a question!..can the microphone have effects!..like if your talking threw the mic and u put the echo effect will it work cuz i have a ns6 and i've tried to do dat bt it dont work!.does the ns6 do that or not!????
@BbmTheBuilder This is a an all in one unit and for a beginner you might want to look at Numark Mixtrack Pro with Virtual DJ. Then if he gets really into it you can sell the Mixtrack Pro and get into something a bit more elaborate.
I just downloaded itch because your review seems to be the only bad NS6 review. To do the "-100 effect" aka "turning off the platter", go into Itch, go to setup, playback, and there you'll find a section called "braking". If you adjust the curve to a more gradual brake, and then pause the playing track, you'll find the effect you're saying is unachievable.
@ccendana Thanks for your comment. When you adjust the brake curve it sets it to a predetermined point, the track will slow down and stop within the same time frame every time. With a Pioneer CDJ 850 you can adjust the braking effect on the fly; the Pioneer DDJ-S1 has this capability using itch. The review isn't a bad one, it just points out some of the weaknesses of the unit and software, which is exactly what a real review should do.
@IamCrownA Since it's relatively new to the market and still not time proven, you would need a backup with you just in case. Used it at a few events with no issues at all.
This fucking guy....He thinks he's badass when he shows the looping...just look at his face after he makes a buildup at 3:19....and then "this breaker effect everybodys talking about"...it sucks ass.
@Rylegit Thanks for viewing the video. Nothing incredible about showing the looping, just going through the features of the NS6. Yes, the breaker effect is horrible, that's the whole point of showing it. If you have any further questions or comments feel free to leave them.
Checked out your page, pretty cool graphics. Was that your work? Dubstep hasn't really caught on in New York City, maybe someone will come out with a NYC Dubstep style which will..
Dude, just go buy a pioneer unit and be done with it. All you've done here is a very long winded moan about your own personal gripes with this unit and displayed your own inadequacies to work out pretty simple issues. Not a very informative or objective "review". I guess it's important to remember that your always more likely to hear from the one person who has had problems with a product rather than the twenty others who haven't. All you need is a HandyCam and a public forum.
@ahdubious Thanks for your comments. If you were to go to the Serato forum you would see that the issues we faced are very wide spread. If we had no issue with the NS6, we would have said such. I'm happy to say that the NS6 is now performing very well however it does have some minor kinks to work out and definitely could use better effects. Thanks for viewing and remember, DJs Make it Happen.
dude your fucking garbage 3 vids on this and it just seems like your just looking for problems and insinuating that the mixer has problems before checking out that there are updates for the shit. dumb ass
@BtrayinMF Thanks for commenting. No, the NS6 has no problems, it simply needed software updates which Serato/Numark have quickly taken care of. These software updates were not originally available and videos #1, 2, and 3 show the progression of the NS6 with itch. Itch 2.0 will soon be available and most are very happy with the improvements. Thanks for viewing and look forward to more of your comments.
@shuuee1 I contacted Serato through the help forum. They sent me a link to download a file with instruction to remove the firmware from the NS6. Another link was to a midi program which allowed me to install the new firmware ( you need to follow the instructions carefully). After the installation was complete everything worked fine.
@DjN0J0ke Since Pioneer is the standard, and what most use a clubs, I use it as a reference point for jog wheel control accuracy with the itch software and music playback..
Nice job on the Video Review. Keep those Reviews coming.I find them very informative. As for the Software,I would like to See how The NS6 Reacts with Virtual DJ.
Good stuff... I was thinking the same thing about the keyboard when I started seeing the videos for the pioneer all in ones where the keyboard sits underneath the unit!!! LOL!!! im thinking what if you actually have to type in the name of a song. That said I do think the navigation section on the NS6 & 7 are pretty good for the most part. but yeah some more cues or sample triggers would of been better...
@gilboogie Heat, possible spills, and not being able to type in the name of a song. Silly, isn't it. Thanks for the the comments and remember, DJs Make it Happen.
