The bore riders don't surf that spot very often,especially when there's crowds of visiting surfers, so they weren't there. Had it happened near any of us, I'm sure we would have helped out.
Kid was on his own, you would have to be a brave man to go in after him. There were lots of people just watching but if he did get into difficulty there were plenty of failed surfers around. I do have a photo of the aftermath where he looks extremely wet and pissed off. The clip was shown on the news who failed to film it,I got £50 and the news item from ITV west, the main thing was that he was alright after his dice with death. i will post the news clip if anyone wants to see it if allowed.
