  • Very nice photos and video.

  • I see purity and innocence.

  • that's the beauty of the game. it should be like that. i plan to make it so for kids who already love the game but have no opportunity to play.

  • are you still requesting donation for this.

  • not requesting anything more for this summer. in the future, i'll invite artists, photographers, dancers, teachers, etc., from all walks of life to spend two weeks working with the kids in my hometown. i will model what the YMCA or Boys and Girls Club do here. whatever the kids home want to learn, i will invite someone from that field to work with them in the summer and EVENTUALLY have a program year round... you interested in 2010 and beyond? two weeks on a tropical paradise?

  • Sure am, put me down and I'll see if I can get some of the sisters from the circle to join in. All I need a an outline to post on the site and time to gather the funds to get there.

  • the plan is to have a nonprofit by fall 2009. volunteers/counselors would submit their summer project ideas to me by february 16 each year. outline, budget, curriculum, supply needs, etc. i look over the proposals, query the local kids and see which ones they want to do for the summer. the nonprofit would help purchase airline tickets, supplies, etc. you or anyone interested would work 2 weeks and have the other week to vacation.

  • I understand there is something similar to this going on in South Africa. I had overheard about it. Thanks for sharing. It's ingenious to communicate values to children through the very thing they love the best - games. It's a nice merge. Wish I had taken advantage of it when I was younger, instead of cowering.

  • what was this cowering? you've mentioned that word on other occasions. have you forgiven yourself for not knowing your potential back then? no more cowering these days, right?... you have something to teach. i will ask you to visit the island in the near future and teach the kids.

  • i'm not really giving back. more like giving forward. i came from the very town in the video and went on to fulfill most of my dreams thus far. why not help another youth do the same? if you can help or know others with the same desire, contact me. and it doesn't have to be football. i'd like to bring knowledgeable folks from all walks of life to provide service for the youth. one idea can transform a life. i've seen it happen in my life and plan to make it happen in others.

  • This is so wonderful Thank you for giving back to your homeland .I myself plan to do that in the near future, as much as we are overseas we should never forget where we came from.
