  • In a few billion year's time, when the sun will expand into a red giant, swallowing earth, this might be a time for paradise on Titan. Titan has all the essentials for life, and scientists even believe that earth once upon a time looked like titan. Right now, the surface temperature is a nippy -190 C and when the sun expands, it might as well make titan warm, and warmth means a speedier process in which life can form.

  • music?

  • i had to do a project on it its pretty cool

  • Nice contribution to youtube. Thanks

  • What song is this from mike oldfield, cant find its name in the description...

  • If the world end I want to hive at titan

  • would it be possible for a satellite to orbit a satellite? do any exist that we know of?

  • A remarkable collection of images and facts. Maybe, in now-more-distant future, we as a species might actually get to the outer solar system and see this for ourselves.

  • thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge & musical vibrations :) Namaste

  • This is such an AWESOME WORLD! I don't know which is my favorite! They are all INCREDIBLE! Titan is SO interesting, because of its thick Nitrogen-rich atmosphere! I love Science, esp. Astronomy! I always have! Imagine being able to walk the face of these worlds! It's such an incredible feeling! I was shocked when the mission was successful! I remember it like it was yesterday! Imagine the moons we haven't sent probes too! We need too! Anyways, INCREDIBLE JOB! THANKS A LOT! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

  • You have a unique genious for communicating the Beauty of Science. I will now look at all your postings. Thank you.

  • This music is from Braid :)

  • So if Titan was in the habitable zone (the zone which Earth lies;not to hot, not to cold)

is there a chance that life could exist?

  • @robert0joe

    No.

because all the Methane or what ever they have there instead of water would melt and the ozone would be fucked.

  • Nice vid.I would love to go there.but that ain't happening in my lifetime. Hope us earthlings could make it there hundreds of years from now:)

  • Beautifully made, well done

the thick atmosphere might make it viable for a future mission in the form of a balloon flight or an extended glide. If the problem of the extremely low temperature could be overcome where the probe could remain viable for a few days we might get some really high definition video

  • do not smoke on titan !

  • marvelous...

  • Titan is the coolest place EVER!

drop me on Titan and I would die a hapy man.

  • All of u should check out bbc2 (if u live in the UK) at 9pm, sunday nite,,, its totally amazin and we were bein told that this moon has liguid, gas and rain etc made from methane.... fasinating! Loved ur fim btw and thanks for takin the time to put it together <3

  • Titan is great. The atmosphere is so dense, and the gravity is so low, that if a human strapped on wings, they could fly effortlessly. I could see it becoming a great tourist destination in the distant future.

  • great video, when it gets warm enough maybe Titan could have life, maybe mars might have life. Earth wont last forever but the universe lives on forever

  • This is absolutly stunning!!! The music sheer heaven and the wonderful images.

  • AagmanUk really you done great job & I like your efforts!!

    Thanx

  • I wanna go there!! although it would stink of farts

  • @craigosbournes LOL thats the first thing I thought of when I watched it!! :L

  • Hey Derek, I just read about the famous "Cassini-Lucifer project" and how Saturn will be made into a star. Do you think this is possible? Wouldn't Saturn be too small to even become a brown dwarf? With that in mind, they're also hoping Titan would be habitable by the time Saturn becomes a "star"...I think this is all bogus..

  • @sharinganx12 that IS TOTALLY BOGUS

  • @sharinganx12 - That rumour is based on a scene from the film 2010: The year we make contact (based on Arthur C. Clarkes "2010 - Odyssey 2"), in which Jupiter becomes a star. Superintelligent aliens had done this to make the evolution of life on Europa go faster.

    It's a fun idea, but it's impossible.

  • now if we could stop putting money into military wel could put that money into space exploration and advance our species.

  • If we stopped putting money into research, then how would the U.S. dominate the space we explore and more importantly control the wealth from space resources? (I am being facetious.)

  • @StevoElsupremo

Screw that, we need to put all our effort into finding different ways of killing people on the other side of OUR planet first >:(

  • Actually billions spent on wars caused by religion is defiantly the best thing to do, who the fuck cares about the human race.. Idiot sceintists.

  • Indeed how interesting everything can be, Saturns associated with agriculture and whaddya know, it's moon Titan is organic! Hahah, I hope you get the joke...

  • ~~~ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING~~~

    AggMan, that was Outstanding...!!

    Would that I could see this Giant up-close and first-hand;

but since I cannot, I Thank You Captain

    for a Most Memorable Voyage...

  • Wow is all I can say - Interesting doesn't begin to cover it - plus you've captured the feeling of awe and wonder so many of us feel when we look at our sibling planets, not to mention stars, quasars, black holes, and all the other incredible things out there -

  • Many thanks for watching and the great comment! All the best! :O)

  • Nice work, I'll use this as my Science Saturday round up comment.

  • Comment removed

  • Many thanks! :O)

  • Great video and very educational. Thanks for the great work.

  • Your very welcome, thanks for watching and the great comment! All the best! :O)

  • wow your videos are so awesome

  • Your very kind! Thank you very much for watching and the great comment! All the best! :O)

  • Beautiful videos. Leaves you in awe at the majesty of it all.

  • It's a wonderful universe! Thanks for the great comment! :O)

  • like the audio

  • Maybe there was over 30+ planets orbiting the sun or even more!

  • I think Geordi vision may be the real colors of titan as I have seen other photos with the same colors and clouds.Watch Titan- Astronomy . NASA is always making everything reddish orange no matter where you go, Mars ,Venus is orange brown instead of white and blue when you look up in the sky, they just do not want us to see the real deal. Why no true color live T.V. high definition footage from any of the probes going to all these places? Nope, all we get a computer generated cartoon!!!

  • I really don't mean to be rude, but... You really need to think over what you have said on this and another video. You comments just show that you don't know a great deal about the subject. Geordi vision, the real colours? Then why call it Geordi vision? Have a look around for why different colours are used to view the planets. This will explain it all to you.

Why, oh why, oh why, would NASA not want us to see the so called 'real deal'?

  • Blue is what we get for when we look up in the night sky ACCORDING to certain atmospheric conditions here as seen from Earth. I think that's what you mean? Because sometimes our moon might appear to be "blue", red, brown, whatever color it may be. Most atmospheres of the planets are bluish due to light scattering...

  • this is brilliant.. i'd love to sit on titan just to gaze over at saturn. theres a sight i'd love to see!!

  • You and me both! Thanks for watching. :O) All the best!

  • I'm afraid you'd be better off picking another moon. :P Titan's atmosphere's so thick and cloudy you'd be lucky to see Saturn at all, and most of Saturn's moons including Titan are in its equatorial plane so the rings look edge on!

Your best bet would be Phoebe, it has no atmosphere, clear skies and an eccentric orbit, so you could see the rings from different angles. :) It's much further out than Titan, though. :(

  • i'd die in a second if i sat on either but ya maybe phoebe would be better.. i'd like to see the rings!! cheers fo the comment

  • I was wondering if there were real, actual images of Titans surface along with its atmosphere...

  • 4:11 is one. For the best images type...

"Raw images from the Huygens probe descent on 14 January 2005"

into google with quotes. Then go to the esamultimedia web site and lots of great images. :O)

  • Wow thanks! They're amazing..

  • Hi AggMan :-), Timmy again. I realy like this videos of the moons from our gasgiants. But there are so many other moons and they are very interesting too! Like Dione, Iapetus, Rhea, Tethys and maybe Mimas... Maybe you have plans to create a video about these moons? Anyway, it would be great to see a video of these beautifull moons. And i'am abble to help you on it, if you like.

    Grtzz

  • Hello again Timmy! :O) I do have plans to do some of these moons, but sadly not the time to do them right now. Many thanks for the offer though!!! :O) Hopefully i will post a video in the very near future. All the best Timmy! :O)

  • You were right, maybe we can live on Titan because....

*It has water, and water has oxygen

*maybe it has oxygen on there

*if there is water, there has to be signs of life

OMFG your a genius for putting these videos up!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL! Your very kind! Thank you very much for watching and the great comment! All the best to you! :O)

  • Well, wiki quoted that Saturn might be the most important and most valuable of the three other gas giants, because of its relative proximity, low radiation, and excellent system of moons. Titan was said to be the most important moon because of the vast rich organic resources on there. Life is possible, however humans would have to adapt to low gravity and such. Native-born Titans would experience difficulties on Earth perhaps? But overall you're right, we might be able to live on Titan one day..

  • Also Saturn was named after the Roman God of Agriculture, and its moons seem to be resourceful in organic compounds. How smart the Greeks and the Romans were to name Saturn after a resourceful agricultural God...

  • @xxanimexx66 Yeah but its f-f-f-freezing isn't it?

  • @xxanimexx66 you forgot the temperature - only simple bacterias can possibly live there

  • Who knows... maybe when our Sun has become large enough so that life on Earth dies, but that Titan is heated up more, life might emerge on Titan. Too bad neither of us will ever know... :(

It's really the only thing I miss about the fact that I will completely cease to exist in... half of century, if lucky: to know that there's so much to know and that I'll stop being while knowing so little, enjoying so little of the universe

  • Oh well, life IS a precious priveledge for all of us and its best to enjoy the time we're given..cherish every moment we have now. Generations after us might not have the luxury of clean air that we do now due to global warming and increasing CO2 levels, we're so lucky..

So another thought: (maybe) lets say life was possible and humans have settled on Titan, don't you think it's funny to revolve around a planet instead of the Sun? I don't know how the Saturn system works but interesting..

  • I think that if life ever evolved on Titan, it would be a lot different than the life on Earth.

As for us living on Titan... it sounds very improbable, but if we did manage to, I think it would be quite interesting to revolve around a planet rather than a star. I've always wondered how it would be like to see the planet rise, or to see Suns rise and so on. :)

Looking to the sky and imagining... there's no greater reason why I am sad that I'll one day die than knowing I won't know the universe.

  • We all might die someday, it's a cycle of existence.. pardon me if you're atheist, but if you're not:

I believe in afterlife (heaven/hell) and all that..maybe some day we're all good we could reunite in a special paradise and travel through the wonders of the Universe..peace to you and everyone!

  • You don't need to excuse yourself. ;)

Yes, I'm an atheist (former christian) exactly giving up (self-imposed) belief in the afterlife is what has drawn me to astronomy and physics in general, actually. I'm only just beginning, unfortunately, but I can assure you that all of these wonders are a lot more meaningful to me now than in the past.

But of course, it felt good to believe in an afterlife of sorts when I still did, and I'm glad that you're happy and comforted by your faith.

  • TigrulZburator is right. You certainly don't need to excuse yourself. :O)

I am also an atheist (former christian). I also have to say that when i gave up religion, the universe actually started to make much more sense to me. It also became more beautiful in a weird kind of way. :O) If your faith gives you happiness and peace, then there is nothing wrong with that at all. :O) All the best my friend!

  • well I'm a muslim and anyone is my friend regardless of their beliefs...

  • If only everyone was as enlightened as you in the world. :O) Your a Star my friend! All the best to you always! :O)

  • Anytime my brother..and I just got to know you, we somehow share similar interests. While that I also like astrology and its connection to astronomy, just for the fun of it..

  • Well, your idea about Titan is a very good one. I for one hope it happens! Yes, i too wish i could live to see it. I think that is why i try to cram everything in now. :O) I am 41 now, and i still get excited about it all as i did when i was a little boy reading my first space book. It truly is a wonderful universe! :O) All the best!

  • Well, the Norwegian coastline is so full of other liquids than water that the conditions are pretty similar to the ones on Titan :)

  • LOL I hope its not that bad! :O)

  • I guess they aren't ;)

great video by the way ! :)

  • AggManUK

I hope you are going to post some more videos, the ones you have are absolutely top notch!!!

  • Very good!!!

  • Thanks for watching! All the best! :O)

  • Another classic. i never realised titan was full of oceans

  • Well, they are a bit small to be called oceans i guess. They are lakes, though i have to admit that the one near the north pole is very big. :O)

  • lol i relaized you state this further on in the video, its just at first i thought i read somewhere,

''no liquid water can exist on titans surface due to temp....''

    thanks anyways dude

  • LOL. :O) Your very welcome, and thanks for taking the time to comment!!! All the best! :O)

  • Can i just add, Titan has lakes on its surface, the water on Titan is liquid Methane and liquid Ethane, which can survive in its liquid form well below Titans surface temp.

  • You can! Thank you very much for doing so! All the best! :O)

  • Wow...beautifully done! 5*****

  • Your very kind! Thanks for the great comment! :O)

  • brilliant!

  • Thank you so much! :O)

  • thanky again for these...i'm reading a fiction work about Titan and this gave me some info i didn't know..also... loved the video and oldfieldage

  • Many thanks for watching! All the best! :O)

  • Es Astronomía convertida en arte!!! Gracias por estos videos, AggManUK. Felicidades!

  • Su muy amable! Muchas gracias por tomarse el tiempo para ver y dejar un gran comentario. Todo lo mejor para usted! :O)

  • All of your videos so far have been mesmerizing ....The music hauntingly beautiful pulling you in as you watch in complete wonderment. Just Bravo! Another masterpiece!

  • Thanks so much. :O) Mike Oldfields musiic is truly fantastic and goes so well with space i think. Thanks for watching! :O)

  • possible typo: 3:29 - u said "Liquid Ethane" instead of Methane :P

  • Hey! Hope your enjoying the new year! :O)

I did actually mean Ethane. Here is an explanation from Wiki "Ethane is a chemical compound with chemical formula C2H6. It is the only two-carbon alkane, that is, an aliphatic hydrocarbon. At standard temperature and pressure, ethane is a colorless, odorless gas."

Thanks for keeping check for me though!!! :O)

  • :D ok! just making sure! I didn't know if it was a typo or not, that's why i said it might be a possible one. either that or im uneducated in a bunch of elements! xD

  • Your a smart one Zetsu, to me your a Star!!! Thanks again my friend!!! :O)

  • Haha just wanna ask a useless question if you don't mind, is it methane or ethane drinkable? what would happen if we were to drink it?

  • You would have to ask a chemist about that. I really don't think i would like to knowingly drink either. You would be able to light your burps! :O)

  • cool

  • sharinganx12

If you ingested either then you had better own a very fast car to get you to A & E very quickly or you would only need a very slow car to take you to your funeral !!

Both of these chemicals would displace the oxygen in your body causing asphyxiation and ethane under the right conditions would freeze you as solid as glacial ice !! Both are extremely flammable when they mix with oxygen in the right quantities. So you would burn/freeze or die from asphyxiation.

  • Whoa interesting! Yet I'm only 14..and learning new things, thanks for the great knowledge! I wonder how liquid ethane and methane would react or BE at earth room temperature...

  • sharinganx12

Both "methane" and "ethane" are found here on Earth, "Methane" is a naturally occurring gas that comes mostly from the decomposition of animal and plant matter and "Ethane" is isolated on an industrial scale from natural gas, and as a by-product of petroleum refining. Both at room temp would be a gas and only liquefy at much lower temps and higher pressures. I hope that helps.

  • I see you've already received a great answer to this, but in case you were also wondering about the alcohols... ;)

The alcohol which is drinkable is the ethanol (CH3-CH2-OH) which is basically ethane which has had one H atom replaced by the hydroxide. Of course, it is not a good idea to drink pure ethanol, but if diluted enough, it's drinkable.

Methanol (CH3-OH) is however toxic to humans, causes blindness very easily and may lead to death. Methanol is methane alcohol, one H atom replaced by OH

  • You are welcome, my friend.

  • great clip .

  • Thanks my friend! I would not mind visiting Titan, not sure about living there though. At least not for many many years. :O) Thanks again!!!

Gracias mi amigo! Yo no le importaría visitar Titan, no está seguro acerca de la vida, aunque existe. Al menos no por muchos años. : O) Gracias de nuevo!

  • AWESOME VIDEO AGGMAN! :D

  • Thanks as always Zetsu! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. :O)

    Zetsuとしてはいつもありがとう!私はあなたに素敵なクリスマスが期待している。 :o ) 日本語で右を見るか?このような美しい言語を見て、私はそれを読む可能性があると願っています。

  • ^_^ You're good in Japanese! just a tad off, but I hope you have a good christmas too!

  • I used a translator, so at least it's not too bad! :o)

  • :P I thought as much... btw, what does the "AGG" in aggman stand for? ._.;

  • It is what everyone has called me for a very very very very very very long time! :O) About 35 years i think! :O) It's a long story, but it's just a nickname (not my real name) that stuck with me, passed on from my brother Alan. So AGG is my name, MAN because i am male and UK because... Well i think you can guess that part. LOL! Thanks for asking! :OD btw Does Zetsu mean anything in Japanese? It's a lovely name. :O) Also your English is great!!!

  • :D yes actually, It meens "Reed" o.o like... the kinda grass things that stick up in the ground some times that are annoying... ^_^; and thank you, I've been living in the US for like... most of my life... >.>; so... thank you! X3
