I've got several of the Blinks, 2 S-14 Pentagons, and the Mini-Pentagon as well as an original MACVSOG 5th Special Forces knife. I have had these knives for quite a few years and have carried the Blink and S-14 daily since their inception. These knives are tough and dependable and worth every penny IMO.

One good thing that came from the Vietnam Era (besides Gunny R. Lee) was SOG. They made tools for us to try out & use. SOG used OUR input to perfect the tools best for us. I have the Sog Flash II Part Serrated, Sog Flash II Plain Edge, Sog Aegia AE-01 Plain Edge AND the Sog Aegis AE-02 Tini Black Plain Edge. I EDC these on a daily basis. Only problem is which one I'm gonna EDC today. AAAHHH..probably all four.

i think for price and quality cold steel has better knives ka bar is great too ontario isnt far behind cold steel and kabar their knives dont look as fancy but they perform much better

@icychillgrill3 cold steel is overhyped crap. A friend of mine picked up two machetes from them and both of them had chips in the blade, Straight out of the package!! They weren't minor either, it took me a good hour with a stone to improve it, and i didn't get all of them out. Ka-bar and ontario makes some great knives but they are really no cheaper than SOG. I've never owned a sog but the flash II will be my next folder.

@Dstompe222 yeah there machetes havent beeen too great lately but they have better prices than sog i have had problems with their srk and i have been considering buying from sog again you are right in coldsteel isnt what it used to be i think maybe sog is better ive heard good things about them but my sog knives werent so great

@icychillgrill3 yeah, i can't really attest to cold steel's past quality, or SOG's quality for that matter. I have heard some good things about sog though, and i mean the seals use it, so their stuff has to be somewhat decent right?

@Dstompe222 ya wanna know something ironic just before buds the guys are given a chocie between the sog SEAll pup or the cold steel srk so technically the SEALs use sog and coldsteel but lots of guys get a better knife for deployment like a scrapyard or RAT but at the same time many keep their coldsteel or sog or buy a better knife from sog or coldsteel
