To all the people who think that the moon landings were faked: Think of the amount of people who would need to keep it a secret, nobody would be able to, like Micheal Colins (Apollo 11) said: "I don't know two americans who have a fantastic secret without one of them blurting it out in the press. Can you imagine thousands of people able to keep the secret?"
I can' believe somebody would ask "who's behind the camera"...sheesh, who's manning the cameras in the liquor store you robbed? If you think the lunar landings were fake, then you are dumber than me, and I'm not so smart. Remember: The dumber you are, the smarter you think you are!
who rolled the camera out away from the LEM to take the first step on the moon ever photos? Just asking.....I've wondered that since I was a kid and saw the original moon "walk"
@beastshawnee On Apollo 17, the very first step off of the LM was not televised. As for the picture showing the LM and the ascent stage lifting off, Gene Cernan had parked the LRV 3 away from the lander on its aft side about 200+ feet away. He then walked back to the LM. An Engineer named Ed Fendell operated the tv camera by remote control and had to account in the delay in transmission to obtain the liftoff and first :30 or so of ascent into orbit. He did a remarkable job from so far away!
@beastshawnee If you're referring to the original Apollo 11 landing, Neil Armstrong (while heading down the ladder) pulled a rope to activate the Modular Equipment Stowage Assembly on the side of the module, deploying the camera
at the end it looked like it was falling back down and the footage does just stop WHY? wheres the rest of the footage i wanna see it was like it was on earth and the power ran out and was falling back to earth

@cbmdg8551976 that was the guy that had really bad gas on the way up the other two conspired to leave his stinky ars behind ! lol
PS; remote camera was on the Rover controlled by a Nasa feed from earth.

@trimbonz the camera on the LEM could be remote controlled from Earth.

Nice fire in space! HAHA, last time I checked the triangle of fire requires oxygen.

All rocket fuels include their own oxidizer.

@cbmdg8551976 its called "LOX" ( oxidizer ) thats the third side of the fire triangle that they bring with them, lol !

I guess they had some kind of pre-programmed controller making the camera zoom and tilt like that after all the people left the surface?
trimbonz 3 years ago
@trimbonz
It wasn't pre-programmed, the camera was on the LEM and remote-controlled from the Earth.

@localroger camera was mounted on the Lunar Rover................
