@twisted5abi This is ASC/DSC light. From BMW 3er users manual: "Automatic Stability Control plus Traction (ASC+T)/Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) l Indicator lamp flashes: The system is active and governs drive force and braking force. The indicator lamp stays lit: ASC+T has been switched off via the button, or it is defective, or, the DSC has been turned off, ADB is in ready mode."

@greg13xx oh so its for traction.. thanks.. but the light came on in while the car was in park but once i restarted the car it went away... so maybe i might have pressed a wrong button

That would be your "Traction Control"...Either disengaged or not functioning properly. There's a Buton Right ahead of the Shifter that engages/disengages the feature.

all you need is a wire...

open up the cap of the diagnose contact under the bonet, tak a wire an hold it on terminal 7, and the other end on ground, then hold it for about 10 sec with the ignition set on 1 (first click) Thats how you reset it, in a simple way... It works on e36...
