  • hiya paul.. thought this was the best vid out the lot. did u get the email about me decidin i want to play the solo 4 dani california. let us know before thursday!!

  • I was wondering if that was a from a site you got those chords... since a practice guitar too (at a lower leven of course) i could use a site where there are chords to be chosen so you can improvise on them... did you do it that way, or do you know about such sites?

Btw, very impressive guitar you play, i'm getting really demotivated :p

  • Great playing, thanks for the post. Love it when you weave in those diminished lines. I would love to play like that...one day.

  • Thanks! The guitar went through a line 6 toneport straight into the Pc. The amp sound is software generated and I think was the Vox Ac30 TB model in this case.

I added a touch of delay too.

    Paul

  • Amazing. Could You tell us the amp and effect You used?

  • (cont.) Robben Ford uses this as a basis for his solos as far as i can tell.

I'm mostly using licks from these scales rather than thinking of the whole scale.

  • Thanks for the comments everyone.

Sorry for the low quality of the vid. I squashed the file down to 10mb (I forgot you could upload up to 100mb!).

    I'm playing mostly round Dminor.

There is an A altered chord, over which you can play A alerted scale (Bb melodic minor).

I hear a Bb7 too over which an F melodic minor or D Blues scale (D pentatonic minor with a Ab note added).

  • Nice playing! Are you using aeolian scale throughout or switching to different modes?

    Ron

  • Well done. I want that LP

  • Hi Paul, I'm glad you're back! I liked all your videos and this is no exception. Great playing as always. Too bad the video's frame rate is too low to visually get all you do. Best -- gromek

  • You are right, this backing track has indeed be used many times but rarely in such a brilliant way. Fantastic playing and a beautiful sound. Very impressive!!

    Greetings from Germany,

    Markus

  • Thank you Paul,

    Very nice like each time!
