2) secondly, No one is going to learn how to setup a modular synth by watching a 20 minute video of a musician on yotube

3) That chain smoking's gonna get him if he doesn't quit while ahead. Eventually, he'll hack a lung in the shower or burn his upholstery and get so pissed of that one day he will really make a concerted effort to kick that shit. It might take him a few trys but burn a key or a knob or forget one buring on the synth, and its over

@Daluxer Hmmm...that would depend on what you budget is, and what quality you are looking for. I use the Presonus FireStudio, and it's really good quality. but if you are starting out, try finding something perhaps on Craiglist ( have alot of success with it ) and you can usually get a really good deal. Just search in Musical Instruments for USB Audio Interface.
