A lousy 10 mph over the speed limit on the Ice road Can cause the ice to break and have your truck go under the ice and possibly in the water. So he threatened his own life, and could have shut down the Ice Road closing the life line to the north.

and it being so cold the cracks heal or mend in a short time. i drove over 3 miles on ice that was 3-4 inches thick at 45mph(not in a rig but a pickup)

Also it usually takes a trucker going through the ice to find out the road has broken. It's good they stand by their decision to ban, he was not only putting his life at risk, but other truckers and personnel and the livelihoods of everyone associated with the road.

Bottom line is heavy speed on ice roads breaks the road. No road equals no living for anyone. If you can't drive slow don't drive a truck on ice. And for your own sake and for the drivers behind you don't bring your finical worries on to the ice roads with you.

These guys go through hours of classes, lectures, and training for the Ice Roads. They all know about speeding!! He just wanted more money, he was speeding to try to get more runs. He obviously has financial issues.

I feel he deserved it because it isn't a small fender bender, he could of cost lives and lot of money to his fellow truckers. Episode 2 a guy broke down and mile line of trucks were backed, every trucker in that line was loosing money cause of 1 break down.
