wopw i get better fps then this with my amd athlon x2 7750 oc'd to 3.2 ghz and 8800gt i get over fucking 50fps man on 1280 by 1024 everything on high ill make a video ok :)
I use a Scythe Ninja Copper with a 120mm fan, although, I've got 4 case fans and they're all at high, which keeps the case temperature to about 27c. The stock cooler should give sufficient performance without an overclock, but for a real gamer I'd reccomend you buy an aftermarket HSF. Something like the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. They're a gigantic improvement over stock, and very inexpensive.
Hope this helps, and good luck with anything in the future. :)
I'd definitely reccomend you this motherboard if your after something mid range. Although, you could buy a newer board with a faster chipset such as the P45. A good, cheap P45 motherboard is the Asus P5Q-Pro.
Thanks for the comment, PM me if you need any more help. :)
You will struggle mate, Pentium D's are close enough to as bad as it can get with gaming. You might want to invest in a processor upgrade to make frames shoot up in Crysis by atleast 20%.
Upgrade that machine of yours to a modern dual core processor. You will be able to run Crysis maxxed out at 1280x1024. You will also get a nice ~40fps.
Wait are you playing this on High or Very High? Because in your description its not really clear.
:o
This is actually the PC I'm building except Im not sure if I should get the 8800GT or the 9600GTX. Im also getting 8GB of RAM 1200Mhz for some reason and all this will be connected to a 680i SLI mobo. Any suggestions on what else I should do? Thanks.
Im playing the game on High, got footage on my account of playing at Ultra High, but its recorded with a camera so the quality isnt the best.
About your PC, do you mean the 9800GTX? If so, dont bother with that card, not much of an improvement from the older cards but yet priced dearer. Go for something like the HD4870, but if money is no object, get 2 4870x2's and Crossfire them.
One last thing, 8GB will be useless unless your doing major rendering or movie-development. -->
I saw it at frys for really low price and its less than a 8800GT with improvements! But Im thinking to just go really into it and buy one of the better GX2's. I dont really trust ATI becuase I had problems with a previous card and I dont want to go through that again. Haha yeah my friend is getting me those 8GB RAM sticks which is too much but whatever more for me!
xD
I do some video editing and rendering so it helps.Thank you!
4GB is by far the most you will need, I dont use it all playing games like Crysis. I'm already thinking about downgrading to 2GB of Dominator and upping the FSB to get 4GHz out of my proccy.
Oh yeah, and your operating system is a big choice, If you use more than 3.25GB of RAM, I would highly reccomend a 64bit Operating System. This will not only prove better in games, but prove better in benchmarks and also bag you some more points in things like 3DMark06 or 3DMark Vantage.

Hi what cooling system do you use ? Is the BOX freezer packed up with E8400 able to keep it in acceptable temperatures without OC ?

2GB DDR2 SDRAM
nVidia eVGA GeForce 7950 GX2
650 Watt PSU
300GB Hard Drive (200GB XP Professional, 100GB Vista Home Premium)

I'd get a dual core e8400 or e8500 and overclock it (if possible).

Yes it really is about the cpu for crysis because I have a 9800 gtx and a Pentium D and get 25 fps high. low res

Yes I have 32 bit Vista Ultimate and 64 bit. I look forward to this new PC so thank you very much for the help dezeya.

Yeah, as an added note, unless your OS is 64-bit it will not even recognize more than 3.25 GB.
