When a warp end breaks they were stopped by electrical drop wires, some of the older ones were mechanical sawbars that stopped the loom if a end Warp yarn ) would break..
Nice video,i worked in a big mill in Lancashire as a loom fitter (1963)on pemberton looms, crossrods and dobby plus drop boxes, never worked on underpicks, all line shaft driven, had to take the belt off while the shaft turned enjoyed evey munuite-thanks for post
Hi! I believe the people at the NHP did say the looms would stop if a warp end broke. I was guessing they were electric, but I didn't think to ask. I should probably add a link to the Lowell NHP website - they might have answers there. I'll go do that...
Hi, this video brings back memories. When I first started weaving in 1988, I ran Draper looms like these. Well, with the exception that they were powered with an electric motor, rather than the belts I see here. My company made rug backing fabric. The company still runs these looms today. Do these looms have an electric stop motion? Just wondering if the loom would stop if an warp end broke. How is the pully power generated? In the old days they were steam powered.
hi du...ich kenn das wenn ich ein viedeo habe mit wenig aufrufen und keinem kommentar ;) deshalb schreib ich dir mal eins:D.....naja war auch schon alles schickes video also die musik is cool :D
Memorys first thing I learned was (I think it was 20 ends) So why fool with 10 or so ends
so I would rip a few more, anything over 20 ends you put the red light on and the smash
piercer would fix my little smash.

The music is basicly from the Album "The Moldau" from the composer B. Smetana...

I'd rather hear the looms running. I like the music but being a 3rd generation weaver the sound of the looms are wonderful.
