hey speedjunkie, quit kiding yourself. eclipse's are nothing to be proud of. you might as well go with a toyota camry. one of my friends has a standard 2000 eclipse gt with an aftermarket exhaust and it's been lowered. I raced it in my standard 2001 v6 stang with only a cold air intake and beasted on it. the only thing eclipse's have on v6 mustang's is top speed, which i'm about to take care of with a svt chip. if you lived anywhere close to me i'd show you what's up.

@davidsonjosiah ....the 2011's still have a live axle....what are you talking about? but i do agree, the 210hp 4.0 was garbage, i used to own one of them before purchasing my 5.0, the 4.0 was a tough engine to add forced induction to, it was flimsy and didnt like the power boosts, the 2011 5.0 and 3.7 both still have the live rear axle, so does the shelby, live axle is perfect for drag racing, and its decent for road racing with the proper parts

I own a standard 2001 eclipse GT. Completely stock It's like 7.2 sec 0-60 and 15.5 1/4mile. I haul ass everywhere i go and I promise you i can beat any stock V6 mustang. Even kept up with an STI on curvy Babcock Road in SA. I actually tend to annihilate any highway challenges, especially since I top it out a 145 on at least a weekly basis. They make turbo kits fot the 00-05 four and six cylinder models. and a turbo'd gt is no joke they're fast.

There is no way that thing's turbo. The interior was that of a '00-05 eclipse. Those never came stock turbo, so unless they put a turbo in, it isn't. But IF they did put it in, that is just sad because it should be able to walk a v6 stang. so if it is turbo, that's just plain sad..
