It's kinda ridiculous, because even if the replaced soaps with game shows, they would still be losing money and nobody would be watching it anyway... so why not sontinue airing GL? if not they should just shut down CBS daytime completely
It's interesting that they never updated the montage scenes involving Maureen Garrett (Holly), Michael Zaslow (Roger) and Jerry ver Dorn (Ross) from the ones they used in the montage/spinning light house opening as it appeared in 1992. The other scenes they did update, but not for those three actors/characters in about a five year time period.
@WhenenRome that was brody hutzler, who played zachary from 1996-1997 as an angel of sorts who helped vanessa fake her death and was briefly interested in michelle.
the person who replaced this Michelle, Joie Lenz I think is her name or something, played the early clone version of Reva, if that is who you are thinking about.
@denverbeast.......yeah i know that michelle did play the earlier reva clone. the michelle after that one didnt she play harley for a while, while the other harley left for a while.
@mute4rmdaboot None of the actresses that portrayed Michelle ever portrayed Harley. Beth Ehlers portrayed Harley from 1987-1993, and then again from 1997-2008. When Beth Ehlers went on maternity leave in '99 and '01, another actress did fill in for her, but that actress was never Michelle.
I believe they're thinking of Hayley Barr (ex-Courtney Baxter, ATWT). She did, during her few stand-in stints as Harley, have a similar look to Nancy St. Alban's Michelle. Prior to Barr, Amy Carlson (ex-Josie, AW) also stepped in for Beth Ehlers as Harley.

This is shortly before Paul Rauch took over the show and shortened the opening credits to about 15 seconds. P&G hiring Paul Ruch as executive producer back then was a huge, huge mistake.
Do you guys realize that this was the only "Opening Sequence" that featured Three African American Characters, one of which is Sharon Leal who acted in Dreamgirls, Why Did I Get Married as well as on The TV Series Boston Public.
I stopped watching GL in the 90's. I hate the look they the show has now. It looks like a reality television show now. Are the shooting the show digital now? Anyway, I hate it.
Loved this intro but didnt like the guitar. They really dropped the ball with Nola Reardon's return. Wendy Moinz was such a beauty, look at that face.
I was one who was not fond of the guitar version. Hated it, in fact LOL, but it was not as bad as the shortened version of the GL theme in 1997 when Rauch came on. When the OJ trial was going on, do you remember there being an even shorter version of the HOTL theme, where it was nothing but the midbumper music as the opening intro song? (The rock version came in mid-96, btw. :) )
In June 1995, Wasn't Mindy and Eve's phots removed fromt he long closing credits and Reva was added.

The actor between Ross and Dahlia played Zachary The Angel.
I don't know his real name. Start there.

Are these the Titles that were designed by Wayne Fitzgerald?

The Dinah end is a knockoff of the one Harley had. I never knew Vivian was in the credits. I don't like this version of the theme.

yeah i like that one with harley dancing

Wasn't there another version of this intro without the electric guitar? If anyone has it, can you put it up?

There were actually three versions of this theme. The regular version,a jazz version and then this one.

Great clip. This version of the GL theme was used from July 8, 1996 to March 5, 1997.

Did Laura Wright (Cassie) ever make it into any of these openings?
olemoneybags 4 years ago
No, she didn't. The shortened version was being used when Laura Wright joined the cast.

I know that the jazz theme had its own ending music, but did this theme? What was the ending theme when the guitar theme opened?
vvmowen5 4 years ago
Isn't there another version of the 1997 opening with Annie in the middle with a feather coat on and it ended with Reva walking down stairs?
postdebut149 4 years ago
Yeah, there are quite a few versions of the 1991 opening, including the one you mention from '97.

I've uploaded that particular opening to my account.

Oh, yes. I realize that. The reason this version is labeled "1997" is because of the visuals. :)
