  • I ordered your blade and it works great...arrived in 2 days. I have never crocheted before, but your instructions are easy to follow, though I am still having trouble keeping the yarn tension even, and not pulling too tight. I know this will come with practice. thanks so much!

  • Fantastic! I've never crocheted before in my life. bought a hook and have started my fleece blanket for my sister's baby. UK stockists of Skip Stitch blade don't seem to exist though!

  • I can't find the rotary tool and skip stitch blade at Michael's or JoAnne's. What brand and where can I find both? Size?? 28 mm or 45 mm?

  • On the second row of using the half double or shell how many stitches per corner. I am making one fleece with the half double edge and another one using the shell. Not sure how to incorporate it in the corners. Please help!

  • Why does it get bizzarely slow halfway through?

  • @DayglowWolf

It slows down so those of us who are new to crocheting can follow along! I get very frustrated with some of these videos that go 90 MPH thru the project, not thinking about us newbies! :-)

  • i love the jeans

  • @jenjamsam I'm new to this part of Linus. where can I find the "Edge Perfect Blade" ?

    Appreciate your help.

    Sacramento,Calif.

  • I LOVE this, but I can't find the darn skip stich tool anywhere. Can you say where you got it?

  • I bought one of those cutting thingys and it did not work, i want to know if there is a vidro on i want to atttach a lining under a baby dress(like a slip)

  • I just love this tool do you know where I can buy it?

  • @Denise46000 it is called a skip stitch blade and can be ordered online

  • You can tie off after the first round.

  • do you have to do the double crochet? or can you just tie it off after the first round?

  • no you can definitely tie off after the first round.

  • Where can I buy a skip stitch blade?

  • I want to order my skip stitch blade but dont know if they come in sizes..If so what size did you use in this video??

  • A regular size blade was used for the video

  • @bradhneuman1230

i went to the Project Linus website and there are 3 regular sized blades. Do I need a size 1, 2 or 3 for this project?

  • you may have said it and I missed it did you say what size hook you used?

  • size G or H hook.

    Good luck!

  • How do you do the corners with the double crochet edging at the end of the video?

  • @SweetSavor -When using the alternate foundation stitch of two double crochets in each hole, the corners can be made by making three double crochets in the corner stitch. Similar to using the single crochet foundation, 3 stitches in the corner hole should make the turn and allow the material to lay flat. An alternative would be to do 2 double crochets two chains and two more double crochets in the same corner hole.

  • Can you just stop at the first row and not do the second row? I like the look of a fatter blanket type stitch. Thanks.

  • Yes, the "foundation" stitch makes a very nice edging on it own. I enjoy the simplicity of it.

  • Thanks for taking the time to answer my question! I don't crochet but believe I can do what you show in the video (thanks) - how would I secure the last stitch if I was just doing a foundational stitch (one row)? Not sure if that is easy to answer in this format but thought I would ask anyway. Thanks again!

  • It is an easy stitch. Simply insert the crochet stitch in the first stitch (last stitch) and pull the loop through and tie off.

  • Can you use 2 layers of fleece for a crocheted edge? Will it hold together okay when it washed or will it bunch up?

  • We only use one layer for Project Linus. I am sorry, I do not know whether two layers will work.

  • @bradhneuman1230

I used two layers and it worked beautifully. I pinned the two layers together and then used the skip-stitch blade around the both fabrics and pressed a little harder on the skip-stitch blade to make sure it perforated both pieces. I also left the pins in place until I finished all the edging.

  • This is absolutely brilliant! Now to find that blade!

  • Hi,

What size crochet hook and yarn works best for this?

    Thanks!

  • Size G or H and a regular worsted weight yarn works great. We often use washable decorative and texture yarns for an interesting effect too.

    Good luck!

  • When you yarn over you go behind the yarn, I have never saw anyone do that. I go in front, have I been doing it wrong for 40 years?

  • Whatever works for you is great!
