Now, that's something I've not seen before, a crossing signal with flashing lights positioned to show in three (or four?) directions simultaneously.

Is it an unusually angled street intersection, or is there another railroad intersecting with that set of tracks?

@writesong I believe the road crosses at an angle, and another road meets it at a T adjacent to the crossing.

The lights facing toward the camera are for the aforementioned side road.
