  • @peanutmaster1231 omg ya that's scary

  • i remember reading that they swim in giant schools and thats when they are more safer to be around and should be avoided if seeing one on its own

  • Barracudas are fucking creepy... I was snorkeling in the Bahamas with my friend and we saw a four to five foot one about ten feet away from us... The worst part is when you swim away and they follow you.

  • Evil exists

  • Shit, I saw the exact same kind of Barracuda while snorkeling in Curaçao. I looked at it for about ten seconds, saying "oh shit" to myself in my head before speed-propelling myself to shore. It was the freakiest thing.

  • i think barracuda poisoning causes u to feel hot as cold and vice versa... search in google for more info

  • One of Satan's minions.

  • 3:l

  • i saw 1 wen doin my first scuba dive. it's not the size , it's the teeth that freak u out.... thumbs up if u got bored after 30 secs

  • This is no great one, its "yellowmouth", Mediterranean barracuda. Škaram, za sve Slovene. ;)

  • they arentscary i as snorking off key largo and they swam away from me when i tried to approach them they have bad eye sight andwill get close then swim away and follow u in a way they would follow a bigger predetor.. i know this im in marine biology for the past two years

  • i once got followed by one of these bastards while diving,

    damn that was scary

  • i used to scuba all the time seeing these guys and never had any problems

  • hahaha that was fun @jakegamesnake ... THEY FUCKING KILLED NEMOS MOM AND FUCKING BROTHERS!

  • nice going

  • He looks so angry...

  • I've seen video where a barracuda did more damage to a mans face in 1 second than I could with a razor knife in 15 seconds. the only thing that saved the center part of his face was his mask. There is no telling what sets these critters off, and I wouldn't think of getting as close as this diver without lots of plastic armor.

I like that comment about eating them in chunk with lime, maybe smoked, or as sushi.

  • Cudas will fuck you up. There was a girl here in the Keys whose hand got completely mutilated by one of these things. Had to fly her to Miami for reconstructive surgery to see if the hand can be recovered. It was an awesome video of one though. Best on Youtube.

  • What camera you used to record it?

  • today i went to the beach with my friend to snorkel and then all of a sudden i see a barracuda right in front of me so i didnt move and i prayed to god and then all of a sudden it swam away.THANK YOU GOD

  • Barracudas are good swimmers as hell, they swim pretty fast. They are worst than piranhas and their bite are deeper than a shark's bite. They can perforate you as fast as you can't realize what did hit you. You feel like you were shot by a torpedo.

They are small but monsters. They are my nightmare in the open sea.

  • @Jaaz7

    1) A group of phirahnas would kill you, a barricuda might bite you, and that would be because it mistaked you for prey or felt threatened

    2) You should be more concerned with sharks rather than barricudas, barricudes never go to do the surface and arn't curious enough to bite you. It would think you were a predator.

    Scary though

  • @jakegamesnake i see them at 1 feet from surface all the time, just waitin behind boats

  • swam with hundreds of these buggers in cuba. first time i saw them I darted back to the beach and was convinced by divers that they wouldn't mess with me. After that I didn't mind them. Whenever they would sneak up on me i would get scared at first but figured its the risk i take in open water. They're really fun to catch when fishing. The locals eat them.

  • i swam near a school of them once in mexico

  • Just like the car - big engine, sleek body... but this one is really dangerous, and you're lucky to be in one piece.

  • @minigunhunter AHHAHHAHAHAHAH

  • i remeber when i went on holidays in feji i was chasing one around lol was funny

  • nice how close were you to the fish ...also great video thx

  • OOoOoOooo BARRACUDAAAAA

  • DIVE SAFE AND HAVE FUN

  • It's impossible to tell the gender of a barracuda by appearance. And for those certain people out there, no, Fish shoot out their eggs and sperm. So you won't see the "knob"

  • nice vid and pretty ballsy move there

  • ive gotten attacked by one in mexico it torpedoed at mee and it hit me with its nose

  • Big fish won't mess with this fish

  • do they have teeth?

  • that's one mean looking fish - I love it!

  • Tem cara de poucos amigos. rsrsrsss

  • lol its just like chillin

  • i live in curacao

  • what of it?

  • Very nice footage. I just saw one about a week ago in Jupiter, FL while I was snorkeling. It was about 3.5 ft long, and kinda scared me when I first saw it!

  • i saw a bigger one

  • THATS WHAT SHE SAID!

  • damn, nice scenes! Last year I swam near 2 of them, but they weren't as big as that one. wow

  • When I was 13 or 14 and on vacation in Cuba I saw one of these. I was on a snorkleing boat trip kind of thing. I had no idea what it was, so of course I followed it around. It was lurking below me and my friend just swiming in circles. I took a picture of it and my Uncle told me what it was... I got pretty damn close to the thing too.

  • i've never seen but if am in the water with one i'd feer for my fingers they just seem like the type of fish that bytes your pinky and then just leave

  • @diztorcion666 Your pinky. When these things attack, they can tear your muscles and skin clear off your arm or legs enough to have your limb removed.

These fish are a miniature shark, though least likely to attack.

  • @Brisa440 Though *least likely*? Barracuda attack more humans every year than 95% of all shark species put together. Most 'shark attacks' are believed to be from one of these zooming in, taking a nice bite, and then swimming away before they can be clearly seen. Very fast, very powerful, very dangerous if you don't know how to approach them.

  • Its a beautiful fish!

The meat is white, dry and very tasty!

  • damn nature, you're scary.

  • oooooh barracuda!

  • wow=)

  • Do you know barracuda makes a delicious dinner? They have excellent recipes with barracuda in Curaçao!

  • they are surprisingly good, especially fried in chunks right after being caught and w/ a little lime =).

  • @jesusfish305 dammit now i want some barracuda!

  • @jesusfish305 I want to try fried barracuda.

  • @jesusfish305 They're toxic to eat. What you ate wasn't a barracuda.

  • @RuckaInc cant take a joke can ya?

  • @RuckaInc where do you get the idea that they're toxic? many cultures eat them

  • @taylorbortnerathing I can't tell if you're trolling or unbelievably retarded.

  • @RuckaInc i got that info from wikipedia. unless the numerous editors of wikipedia are retarded all retarded

  • He's all like "What the hell you looking at?" ... Then you got closer and closer and he's like "Screw this noise I'm outta here" lol nice video 5 Stars + Favorited

  • Cool video.

  • At of all my times sea fishing......Ive never met a well behaved Cudda. Theirs pissed and roid rage.

  • Barracudas are freaking SCARY!! I Saw one myself when I was diving in the Caribbean :S

  • Oooohhhh...Barracuda!

  • i have come face to face with a shoal of barracuda whilst scuba diving in the med trust me they are very intimidating one of these things will rip a tennis ball sized piece of flesh from you in a blink of an eye they are so fast in the water you wouldn't stand a chance they also feed in a frenzy so imagine several hundred after you

  • barracudas can effing kill you. i'd be more scared of them than sharks.

  • @KMWC2008 I used to go diving off the coast of Miami and saw a whole of school of them. They don't bother you unless you unless you wear shiny metal and even then the chances are slim.

  • @gmccord1970 hahahahah I don't remmeber that comment :P but that's awesome! I wanted to be an oceanpgrapher, I love the ocean, so neat :D

  • @KMWC2008 At most it will probably bite your hand off

    Not kill you

    There actully scavengers, not predators.

  • @KMWC2008 Dude i was fucking snorkeling today on vacation in the Caymans. I was probably 100 yards from shore in about 6 feet of water. I'm just snorkeling along looking at all the cute little fish on the bottom when I get this weird feeling. So I turn around not 10 feet behind me there is a barracuda this size just floating there motionlessly staring at me. It took me about 3 seconds to analyze the situation and book it back to shore with my brother. The fucker followed us all the way there.

  • @psplayer444 Whhhhhhhhhhhhhat!!!!!!!!!! That's sick I'm not going to lie, I would want to see one, but to be honest I'd have probably shit my wetsuit or something hahahaha!!

  • i was like 2 meters away from one of those when i went scuba diving i was so scared

  • Fear barracuda an don't fear sharks

  • @Del249

Barracudas aren't a small fish. They can grow up to 6 feet long. Also, sharks, bears, and tigers aren't to be feared unless provoked. People aren't on their diet.

  • i went snokoning and i look to my left and i see one of these bitches staring at me, i was fucked and it was my frist time, lucky it swam off =]

  • Del249 barracudas WILL hurt you just like a shark, without being provoked. they can really grow and are lightning fast if you come face 2 face with one of them badboys u better hope its in a nice mood cuz they will bite and can really cause damage.

  • Ive been snorkeling since I was a little girl and I always see these beautiful creatures...I always felt scared and still do when I see them but its like a respectful fear, they only attack when waters murky and they see ur jewelry reflecting or if provoked, still, if I see one I keep my distance...

  • Barracuda attacks usually take place under certain circumstances, including: (1) when the water is very murky; (2) when a diver is carrying a shiny reflecting object, like jewelry; (3) when the barracuda is provoked; or (4) when a diver is carrying a wounded fish. Attacks can also be caused by excessive splashing or other irregular movements in the water, especially in murky conditions.

  • i was diving in egypt wenn suddenlyall fishes werelying on the reef .. and then there were 2amazing baracudas.. amazing fish ..

  • iv seen some 2 times bigger. in real life. but nice vid.

  • prob max 3ft

  • how big was he... by the coloring on the top.. he looked to be young... no more than a couple of feet long?

  • he is fucking scary

  • i love fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think its awesome how you can swim up and close with them. they are actually really curious and harmless unless provoked

  • that thing looked at you like it was going to eat your ass.

  • You're an expert on the 'I'm now going to eat your ass' look, then?

  • oxfordbikeer, what the HELL are you talking about im pretty sure it was a joke anyway

  • me and my dad went snorkling and a barakuda ate my dads 145$.94 watch. P.S. i went wit my dad cause im only 12

  • thats because shiny objects practically hypotize barracudas, so they attack them

  • lol fuking evil looking thing

  • P.S. my favorite barracuda Video on youtube.

  • I've encountered barracuda dozens of times while snorkeling in The Bahamas. They're usually not aggressive, just very curious...scary looking though,eh?...such an awesome fish..

  • I think he's getting cleaned.

  • me and my dad went snorkeling once in the red sea and we came round a shallow reef and there was a huge 2metre long barracuda right at the top of the water.. we watched it for a while and it shot after a parrotfish extremely fast, unfortunately it didnt get it (not that i dont like parrot fish i think theyre great its just it would of been interesting to see how many different things would of come if they smelt the blood)

  • i am goning snorklingdo they attak a lot

  • it looks pissed lol
