@comali2212 Nothng dramatic would happen. The only rotating mass is the wheels, there is not too much force involved if the car jumps off. Tires smoke a little and after a few foot it is stopped. The safest place in a dyno room (besides inside the car) is in front of the car.

a) Physics. The engine, transmission and body are not in a forward motion.

b) Experience. We dyno cars evey day

@KraftwerkPerformance I realized that you have experience with dynos, but I don't believe the reason is the engine not being in forward motion. The engine gives all of the pistons' up-down motion to the crankshaft's circular motion, which is transfered to the flywheel, and therefore to transmission and wheels. That means most of the engine's motion makes the wheels spin. So if you wanted to stop the car instantly, you'd have to stop the wheels, the transmission and the engine together.
