  • The Bovina Town Board banned wind turbines from this scenic Catskill town. Bovina is the first town in the Catskills to take a clear position against industrial wind development. The Bovina vote follows a twelve-month moratorium during which residents made their views known to town officials through open meetings sponsored by the board, hundreds of letters, a town survey, a petition, and a poll sponsored by industrial wind opponents. The vote was three in favor of a ban, one opposed.

  • For every Megawatt of "Wind" if and when it blows enough the state needs to add an equal amount of conventional standby electricity (Oil gas etc) to cover when the wind DOES not blow which does happen you can probably agree with that. The big 400 ft plus Turbines have a cut-off when the wind blows over 25 miles an hour - for safety reasons - they do have their blades fly off - they do go on fire when they do not shut off automatically.

  • You really have to feel for these people you have no idea of the reality until a 410 foot (40 story building) is absolutly ruining your life - and financial well being with your home value reduced to one quarter of its worth - at least the LLC Energy scammers can but a new mercedes and second home - probably not next to a wind turbine.

  • The Alliance for Bovina is very pleased that the survey results show most Bovina residents oppose commercial wind turbines in our town and that this issue not just a "second home owner" issue. We welcome everyone in Bovina to be a supporter of the Alliance in its fight

against commercial turbines in our area and our future efforts on other important issues which need more community involvement.

  • One of two citizens' groups that staked a claim in the future of wind turbines in northeastern Delaware County has agreed to drop its opposition to plans by developers.

In exchange for a financial contribution with which to create a conservation trust, the Roxbury Association for Environmental Preservation said Thursday it agreed to not oppose plans by Invenergy LLC to site 34 turbines along the six-mile Moresville Range between Stamford and Grand Gorge.

  • Environmental Preservation I guess thats mean sell out if the price is right for you.

  • Environmental Preservation means sell out when the LLC (Invenergy) scammers in Stamford through a few coins at them and they fold like a weak poker player. It really is a shame Roxbury and Stamford are one of most beautiful areas in Delaware County. These Environmental Preservation people should hang their head in shame.
