@dsmcclellan Regardless of their sexual orientation, Elton John, George Michael and Freddie Mercury are some of the greatest vocalists of our era. Really dont care what they do or did in their personal lives, im glad they've given us the music they have.
-
I don't like the term "regardless of their sexual orientation". I think we could really get to the point where we CELEBRATE their being Gay as being blessed, as I know many Musicians & Artists who are. Rob Halford & Ricky Martin are too.
George looks good in his tight jeans! And that style is back now. Although I think tight jeans look better on men than on women! Where I live, every friggin woman has skin tight jeans on and many of them really shouldn't wear them!
u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and past
good that some of us don´t have any personal probs and have time to judge the sexual needs of others - just embarrassing and annoying to find such stupid comments in utube though - this is just poor. Feeling so sorry for you - "superpoor"...
I seem to remember that elton john had a problem with his voice back then. Man that was awesome concert. Got smashed the night before and woke up on the river bank. Sand in my hair. Sand in my car. Sent my buddy off to the Marine Corp that night. heh he was messed up.
Do you have Wham's performance uploaded. I never saw it as they cut it off to show the US coverage and I still havent seen it to this day. That would be very much appreciated if you could upload it!! Thanks.
I don't like when people say "I don't care about their sexuality" That should not even be brought up. A person's sexuality is their own decision and unless you are deluded you will see there is nothing wrong with any sexuality. Thats right, there is nothing wrong with being straight.
George Michael is the best,I consider him the successor to Freddie Mercury!I was not around 25 years ago in 1985,but I'm pretty sure those who attended the concerts had the time of their lives. The 2005 Live Eight was actually quite boring.
I agree... His skill to sing this song back in 1985 seems to have a little way toward the perfect performance he did in 1991 with Elton John. But his potential vocal talent was like an unpolished gem. Thank you so much for this great video!
I bet GM was nervous to do this whole song the first time. I can see the differences between this one and 1991 version. 1991 version was flawless. He had more confident.
So cute!!! You hear that George at that particular moment has not yet the right skill to control his fabulous voice entirely but his true vocal talent is already very obvious. Soooo incredibly nice to see this back. I think that Elton at that time was thinking " O my ,beware my best days are over.." ;-) :-) Hahaha!! There was GM, a young half-greek God and so sexy...(LOL)
WOW!! He (George) was sooooo young when Live Aid was broadcast. Not too shabby....butt IMVHO...the BEST recording of this song would have to be when George was out of the shadow of his Wham days and he and Elton teamed up a few years later for their live duet of DLTSGDOM....
When it comes to singing live, this guy is tops. I have been a fan since he started his career in the early eighties. To date he is still one of my firm favourites.
Haha.. yeah.. you're right.. I saw this Elton's "second positions"... a little funny.. because they .. I think so.. they always sing this song together.. so I think they like each other..
Regardless of their sexual orientation, Elton John, George Michael and Freddie Mercury are some of the greatest vocalists of our era. Really dont care what they do or did in their personal lives, im glad they've given us the music they have.
Finally someone that thinks the exact same thing that I do, It's about the music, that's what's Important, they are awesome (except I don't care to much for Elton lol)
Why even bring up sexual orientation, if music is all that matters. :( Sorry, I love your comment, but if it didn't mater why bring it up to begin with.
It's not quite as good as Queen, but it's damn close; if they hadn't been there, George would've stolen the show, just like he stole the Freddie Mercury concert with "Somebody to Love"
the point of live aid was that everyone was essentially flying without a net; it was the only way they could fit everybody on the schedule. This was the greatest artists just going out and giving raw performances. Sometimes the passion matters more than the technical stuff

great observation on the voice. George still sounds like George now but a much better, richer, and broader voice. Also maybe the official version released later could have been transposed. but anyway great observation.
Originally the plan was to have Wham! perform their own set but the same power problems that started during The Who's set prevented that from happening. Elton allowed George Michael to do this song and then went on to do another after which Queen performed "Is This The world We Created" followed by Paul Mccartney.
I know that feeling well !! went to see 25live 3 times .. 1st time I was so amazed to be there after waiting 15yrs to see him again I was frozen ... 2nd time at the closing night of the Arena tour I think I cried mosta the way thru it was so emotional and the 3rd time the nighe he opened Wembley Stadium was one of the best ever nights of my life !! .... No one compares to George !!
Just like me it looks like the drummer didn't take out an old age pension. Still working.Nice to see the multi talentless Andy miming F-cking parasite.
