  • Andrew Ridgeley went on stage and disappeared?

  • @imaginator .... At 4:30 you can see Andrew singing backup next to Kiki Dee.

  • @imaginator .... And not singing at all at 5:25 ...... no big surprise there... ;)

  • dsmcclellan you said it perfect.

  • @dsmcclellan Regardless of their sexual orientation, Elton John, George Michael and Freddie Mercury are some of the greatest vocalists of our era. Really dont care what they do or did in their personal lives, im glad they've given us the music they have.

    -

I don't like the term "regardless of their sexual orientation". I think we could really get to the point where we CELEBRATE their being Gay as being blessed, as I know many Musicians & Artists who are. Rob Halford & Ricky Martin are too.

  • George looks good in his tight jeans! And that style is back now. Although I think tight jeans look better on men than on women! Where I live, every friggin woman has skin tight jeans on and many of them really shouldn't wear them!

  • good that some of us don´t have any personal probs and have time to judge the sexual needs of others - just embarrassing and annoying to find such stupid comments in utube though - this is just poor. Feeling so sorry for you - "superpoor"...

  • oh mon dieu ,

    yes.

  • OUCH SiR MIchaeL george and Sir Elton JoHn piano !! oh my god!

shhuttt , , big thnaks for this aids

never don't let the sun EVERYBODY.

  • The two best singers in the world

  • I seem to remember that elton john had a problem with his voice back then. Man that was awesome concert. Got smashed the night before and woke up on the river bank. Sand in my hair. Sand in my car. Sent my buddy off to the Marine Corp that night. heh he was messed up.

  • Look at the size of George's dick wen he walks no underpants on lol

  • @stebrom1 wtf???

  • its freaky how much george looks like joe mcelderry here!!

  • the only other person ..that can do a elton john song justice.....!

  • Do you have Wham's performance uploaded. I never saw it as they cut it off to show the US coverage and I still havent seen it to this day. That would be very much appreciated if you could upload it!! Thanks.

  • I don't like when people say "I don't care about their sexuality" That should not even be brought up. A person's sexuality is their own decision and unless you are deluded you will see there is nothing wrong with any sexuality. Thats right, there is nothing wrong with being straight.

  • I watched this as an 18 year old in New Zealand, it was the BEST 24 hours ever!! I have loved looking back on it, thanks You Tube...so many memories

  • just great stuff

  • George Michael is the best,I consider him the successor to Freddie Mercury!I was not around 25 years ago in 1985,but I'm pretty sure those who attended the concerts had the time of their lives. The 2005 Live Eight was actually quite boring.

  • George does a much better version of this than Elton ever could.

  • Don't let George go down on me! I'M KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! George was always a great

    singer! Great talent, For sure!

  • Awesome! George did a great rendition of the song!

  • **Thank you for the video**kisssssssssssss

  • george is the greatest singer our time! IVE SEEN LOADS OF GREATS! BUT NO ONE BEATS WOR GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great show, thank the lord someone un-plugged the wrigley gum boys guiter, Andrew Wrigley ??

He was not needed in this show what so ever.

    You go GM !!

  • @HaustenPowers

Andrew Ridgeley was good also, don't ridicule him like that! he was an important part of Wham, especially in terms of the duo's image.

  • I agree... His skill to sing this song back in 1985 seems to have a little way toward the perfect performance he did in 1991 with Elton John. But his potential vocal talent was like an unpolished gem. Thank you so much for this great video!

  • I bet GM was nervous to do this whole song the first time. I can see the differences between this one and 1991 version. 1991 version was flawless. He had more confident.

  • I agree with you very much. It is incredible how much confidence he had built for those 6 years.

  • So cute!!! You hear that George at that particular moment has not yet the right skill to control his fabulous voice entirely but his true vocal talent is already very obvious. Soooo incredibly nice to see this back. I think that Elton at that time was thinking " O my ,beware my best days are over.." ;-) :-) Hahaha!! There was GM, a young half-greek God and so sexy...(LOL)

  • I think Ridgley thought he was going to sing the first verse!

  • ray cooper is a veteran percussionist

  • so elton john and george michael peformed it before 1991? they should have released it a for charity

  • wow... George is amazing, and Elton ofcourse

  • ELTON LOOKED like he was going to sing the first verse? LOOK!

  • before the peter puffing

  • i am!!!

  • they gave us the best of their lives should we be thankful????

  • those were the days!!!!!!!great

  • WUHHHHH!

GM was just 22 then -

    GREAT VOICE AND GREAT PERFORMANCE!

  • George michael was so calm on stage it was like his second home.

  • WOW!! He (George) was sooooo young when Live Aid was broadcast. Not too shabby....butt IMVHO...the BEST recording of this song would have to be when George was out of the shadow of his Wham days and he and Elton teamed up a few years later for their live duet of DLTSGDOM....

Thx for posting this vid....nice memories....

  • When it comes to singing live, this guy is tops. I have been a fan since he started his career in the early eighties. To date he is still one of my firm favourites.

  • No, exactly its matter ..

  • WTF?? Hahaha !! Had Elton John not also to sing?? Every time when he wants to start, George starts before him. I think he was very pissed.

  • nevermind, elton john is a really cool one - he stands above such narrowminded vanities, nevermind

  • Haha.. yeah.. you're right.. I saw this Elton's "second positions"... a little funny.. because they .. I think so.. they always sing this song together.. so I think they like each other..

  • What a voice.. incredibly done!

  • i love andrew ridgely

  • Don't let your son, go down on me...

  • Whahahaha, bad taste but still very good....

  • bloody hell..george sing it as you not elton...great ass tho;)

  • Great performance by the one and only George Michael he is a one of a kind!!!

  • @nightowlinky

    Good call!

  • another great song........

  • Ooo George look so good in the jeans! *pants* and that song he song turned out that he made years later with Elton john was evern better!

WOW! Anything George does is incredible!

  • Tosser sat in all day waiting to see george then he comes on at 10.30 at night a sings this shit still bitter 23 years later..........

  • He looks cool! even in 1985 he had the faith look!

  • Regardless of their sexual orientation, Elton John, George Michael and Freddie Mercury are some of the greatest vocalists of our era. Really dont care what they do or did in their personal lives, im glad they've given us the music they have.

  • Finally someone that thinks the exact same thing that I do, It's about the music, that's what's Important, they are awesome (except I don't care to much for Elton lol)

  • Why even bring up sexual orientation, if music is all that matters. :( Sorry, I love your comment, but if it didn't mater why bring it up to begin with.

  • Just showing that the idiots that have brought up that subject in the past, are wrong. Its all about the music, yes.

  • Amen.

  • @dsmcclellan

    true...true..

  • @dsmcclellan WELL PUT!

  • @dsmcclellan well said....grt men grt music !

  • @dsmcclellan the first two both came from my home town :) WATFORD/ BUSHEY

  • @dsmcclellan - No doubt about Freddie, looney as they get! But man was a genius!!

  • @dsmcclellan YES YES YES !!!, Always loved them I also don't care how they have fun, Their music is awesome

  • It's not quite as good as Queen, but it's damn close; if they hadn't been there, George would've stolen the show, just like he stole the Freddie Mercury concert with "Somebody to Love"

  • Fantastic Incredible..

  • a1mint. you're right. about the pants.

  • that's class !

  • I recall being a Kid in Beaumont Texas watching this Concert WOW

  • He looks so cute in this!

  • I looooove it !

  • Haha Well it's nice to hear that from someone otehr than my mother! lol

  • It's like George is on American Idol! He tries a bit too hard. The 90's version is so much better and refined.

  • dont think so!

  • the point of live aid was that everyone was essentially flying without a net; it was the only way they could fit everybody on the schedule. This was the greatest artists just going out and giving raw performances. Sometimes the passion matters more than the technical stuff

  • Elton looks hopped up on something. What happened to AR?

  • ya this looks more recent then 1985...

  • look at george's tennis shoes...that is so 80's!

  • People take freedom of speech too far when they say rude comments (and you know what those are)about George Michael. I am straight and I am wondering why people have a BUG UP THEIR FUCKING FAT ASS about gays, GET OVER IT NERDS!!!

  • you wish u were there!

  • i had this song on an 8 track... does anyone remember 8 tracks...lol thanks for posting this ... never forgot about this moment... when the eighties were of bands uniting for a cause... a decade of giving... love u george .. u owned the song and the crowd.. WOW!....

  • aw i love him so much. im only 14.. i really wish i was alive back then. im such a loser i have every wham! and george michael album and i listen to them on the record player my dad just got me.. :-)

  • ur one lucky kid

  • love that man so much, such an amazing voice, and god why does he have to be so freakin "HOT"!!!!!!!

  • hah! yeah!..i love him..

  • sure this is 1985?

  • Yes, at Live Aid

  • what the hell did Andrew do?

  • back up

  • what an ass!

  • george is bloody amazing

  • Andrew, I love Yoouuuuuuu!!!!!!!

  • Andrew, I love Yoouuuuuuu!!!!!!!

  • I love george michael

  • great observation on the voice. George still sounds like George now but a much better, richer, and broader voice. Also maybe the official version released later could have been transposed. but anyway great observation.

  • them are some TIGHT jeans, George!!

  • Looks a million times better than those stupid baggy pants that those fart teenagers wear today though.

  • hey I'm a fart teenager lol

  • george has the best vocals ever and also he is the sexiest and the best performer in the world! there is nobody like him, LOVE YOU GEORGE FOREVER!

  • Originally the plan was to have Wham! perform their own set but the same power problems that started during The Who's set prevented that from happening. Elton allowed George Michael to do this song and then went on to do another after which Queen performed "Is This The world We Created" followed by Paul Mccartney.

  • Very powerful indeed!

  • George is by far the best male vocalist of our time.

  • Amazing how much George's voice improved in the years following. Compare this to the released version in the early 90s. Very different.

  • Whenever I Hear The Crowd "Roar" Like That For Him/Them I Get Goose Bumps And Tear Up:))) I Love It!!!

  • I know that feeling well !! went to see 25live 3 times .. 1st time I was so amazed to be there after waiting 15yrs to see him again I was frozen ... 2nd time at the closing night of the Arena tour I think I cried mosta the way thru it was so emotional and the 3rd time the nighe he opened Wembley Stadium was one of the best ever nights of my life !! .... No one compares to George !!

  • Just like me it looks like the drummer didn't take out an old age pension. Still working.Nice to see the multi talentless Andy miming F-cking parasite.

  • dnt talk about andy like tht u creep

  • great george michaels sings well elton is great on piano and i always love eltons suits

  • Elton John wrote this song!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow!

  • This is a rare footage. I have only read about this in Smash Hits 1986 Yearbook magazine. Now, I had the good fortune of watching it! Great performance as usual by George Michael. Good to see Andrew Ridgeley on backing vocals.

  • Andrwe: not the music! LOL!

  • Cool hearig this song when George Michael was younger and his voice was stronger and intact

  • Good performance by Andrew Ridgely!

  • I think this is the performance that really showed what a superstar George was going to be. Amazing.

  • Maybe the piano player "drained all the energy out of him" before he got on stage and he felt "weak"? Rehearsals....can do that.. ;p)

  • This was not George's at his best(ohh now),he did this far better years later.Lets face is.But still think he's the best ever. :)))But covers like "sexual healing" and "if you where my woman" and sombody to live make that really GOOD.He's all forgiven. XXX

  • i love George Micheal & the song

    thanks ^^

  • i love George Michael who cares if hes gay u cant go around judging ppl for spmething they cantt help that they feel... he has the best male voice and is so hott!!!

  • I would like to see George doing the four knuckle shuffle. I think hed be great at that.

  • Because you are some expert on that? Ha, ha

  • This was on my mix tape that was stolen in 1986 - I have been dreaming of hearing this song again ever since. The duet from a few years later was never this good. Seeing/hearing it again brings tears to my eyes, not least for my lost youth. I was 17, George was 22 and the years have not been that easy on either of us. Though we both still look great, might I add ;o)

  • GEORGE MICHEAL IS A FAG!!!!!

  • So What You Got A Problem With That.George M Is The Best Singer In The World, Hands Down. I Am Straight But I Love Him.

  • sure ur straight

  • are you !!!!! lol

  • I here ya! I was born in 78 so this is huge for me, love this music, too bad they just don't make this kind of music anymore, I feel your depression and saddness!what's it going to be like for us in 20 years, it kinda scares me actually!

  • HHHHhhhhmmmmmmm Elton is awfully JOYFUL to be playing for George ? George is really good ! He seems so young here ! :) It's cute ! Poor sad Andrew...in the background....with that "get up" on of his......is he wearing a PicNic blanket and a cloth Napkin?????

  • i always liked G Michael the way he sing... i don"t care he is Gay...Freddie Mercury was gay but he had a golden voice,,,Elthon John have a great voice also

  • I felt bad for A.R. he was simply a background person. He could have played the guiter...

  • I miss my 80s, my teenage youth, my generation, rockn roll....how are everyone? I feel disconnected and sad and lonely. Did not know 80s would have so much impact in my life.

  • Awesome performance!

  • I didn't know they had sung it together prior to their famous duet in the 90s!
