There are many Turkish mosques, building and grave yards and when tourists come we tell them they are Turkish, we don't say they were build by Greeks. We don't lie and deny in our history.

I come from the Chios Greece (Sakiz Adasi as you call it) Very close to Cesme. Chios was taken over for over 100 years. There are many Turkish mosques, building and grave yards and when tourists come we tell them they are Turkish, we don't say they were build by Greeks. We don't lie and deny in our history.

How you can claim that we call all the greek monuments as turkish, was you ever in Turkey? I visited many byzantine monuments in Istanbul and they always told the byzantine builder of all these monuments. It would be very stupid if we would deny the byzantine roots of these monuments. For example how you can say that Istanbul was formed by turks if whole world know that was formed by Constantine

@xxTurquiaxx one day Greece and Turkey will wake up and see that these political problems have cause friction between the 2 countries and these problems are making other countries rich. Greece did the mistake of joining the EU and this is why we are in economic trouble, I hope Turkey takes example and doesn't do the same... As for war, I don't think there will ever be a war between us because if there is it will trigger world war 3 to begin and I will explain why....

I agree with you in the theme of infringements of the borders on aegean sea, you also have right with the theme that USA and Germany will continue to create problems as long as they are making money from us. Because of this reason we have to wake up and look together forward. If we haven´t ability to make this, than we shouldn´t give the hate over to the new generation. I´m 21 and have greek friends and we have the ability to not make the same faults wich our old generations made

@xxTurquiaxx Turkey is allies with USA... USA is running out of friends and allies. Greece is strong allies with Russia, and the rest of Europe. If Turkey goes to war 27% of the Turkish population is Kurdish and they will take this opportunity to uprise and cause problems for Turkey from within. Greece will have problems with Macedonians and Albanians and then the Serbians will start slaughtering the Albanians again. The Bulgarians will help Turkey and the Armenians will help Greece....

We won´t be the sacrifice of our history. We have to learn our history but we have also to learn what we made wrong in the history to get a better future and you can only get a better future wich Peace, because every fight has 2 losers and the winners are always the 3rd. ones. Turkey was always a political allies of USA. The turkish population always dislike them and some european countries also, but our region is changing a lot these days

Turkey won´t to go to a war, but even if we would go you can be sure that our kurdish population won´t be a problem for us, because our fight was/are/will be never with our kurdish population it is with the little minority group of radical kurds wich try to damage the unity of Turkey. We have millions of turkish-kurdish mix families and a saying like this "Turks and Kurds are brothers the radicals are the betrayers" only with this mind we could live in the same country

You also have to know that these kurds was also there, where we had to fight with british, french, greeks and russians in the same time. after the fall of the ottomans and in these times they fought side by side with us and i am sure that the majority of them would do it again. In the other side Turkey is considered as a hero of islamic nations by muslims now. We formed an economic and social union with Syria, Lebanon and Jordan and opened the doors for other arabic nations.

Our relations to Tehran was also never so strong like today. Our islamic conservative government strengthen our relations with whole Islamic world. The biggest advantage of Turkey is the Turkic nations in Asia wich get free from russians after the fall of soviets. We have a strong economic and social cooperation with Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The strong natioanlist Turks wants an Turkic union (Turan) with these brother countries.

There are silent killers out there that are taking lives away and they don't care if you are Greek or Turkish or white or brown or Christian or Muslim, I'm talking about things like cancer that is the number 1 killer in the world. Things like h1n5 flu which is a constant evolving and mutating avian influenza virus that threatens to plague the world and kill millions.... Now we have spreading radiation from Japan!

One more thing what i have to say. Istanbul is the INTERNATIONAL name of the city. Only greeks call it still as "Constantinople" otherwise the rest of the world from japan to USA, from Iceland to South Africa call it Istanbul. I haven´t anything against the name "Constantinople" but don´t claim that only turks call the city Istanbul, because the whole World (except greeks) call it so.

@xxTurquiaxx I can claim it because I have been to Turkey many many times and very rarely have I heard a tour guide say the real truth to tourists. The educated ones that don't deny the truth, tell the truth! The rest, well not so much and I once got into an argument with one over the monuments in Ephesus.... Anyway to make a long story short I don't like to argue on the internet over who did what, and who is better and blah blah blah, it's a waste of my time and yours...

Maybe there is some ignorant tour guides wich try to deny the byzantine builders of some byzantine monuments in Anatolia, but you can be sure if i know that all these monuments was build by byzantines although I was born and grew up in Germany than a turk from Turkey know it as well. In the other point to deny the builders of some monuments are better as to deny the roots of people wich some greeks still make for western thracian turks,but like you said all these are long stories

Me and one of my best friends Hassan (a Turkish Cypriot) have argued over these things many time and we have come to one solution that most Greeks and Turks agree on. As people we get along because our cultures are very much alike. Our governments politically will never get along. We fight about things that happened

At a result my greek friend. Turkey and our region is changing a lot and in this new time we want also Greece as our friends. Turkey want to enlarge the oil pipeline from Azerbaijan to Turkey and ask Greece for this to guide the Azeri oil to Europe. We also have a oil pipeline from Iraq to Turkey and we undersigned the protocols of a gas pipeline with Iran. So Turkey can be the energy central of Europe and Greece as our neighbour can take advatange of this.

You were raised in Germany, I was raised in Canada, we both come from countries that are more advanced then Greece and Turkey. Our mentality is more progressed then the people back home. I hope one day they will wake up and see that while they are fighting over pieces of land and what happened 100's of years ago, the wolfs are closing in on them. I just hope by that time it's not too late.

Just look at all your monuments most are Greek monuments that were built by the Greeks because all those cities along the Aegean once belonged to Greece.
