  • a Hi-Point AND a pinky ring. you sir have won

  • I am new to guns so i have a stupid question, do you need to do this every time you clean it?

  • @Tonycalvo1991 Well I talk about a complete cleaning. Normal use may not need all that done to it. You should scrub the barrel and clean the bolt as much as you can in order to ensure proper operation.

  • Great video Brother.

  • wow didn't even think that tool that came with it would fit, i tried it a few times at first, but didn't get it working right, but finally got that pin out.

  • Also what size screwdriver is that? I have some small ones like that but none of them seem to work, they either seem to big/small to fit (then again I'm using a winchester multitool as a hammer... so that might be it!

  • @yinjara You don't have to use a screw driver. go to the hardware store and pick up either a pic set or use the tool they sell with the gun. I think that flat head they sell with the gun fits in there. As for the size I can't remember which one I used, I have a container full of these and many fit in there.

  • ok what's the deal with all this hate against the hipoint? my buddy kept talking mad shit about how my gun will jam every other bullet, and the firing pin will break after 4 clips. I shot a whole box of 50 rounds, on my used hi point (i'd be at least the 3rd owner), and it only jammed one time. I've shot "better" guns that have jammed more. Sure it's not accurate over 20 feet, but my apartment isn't bigger then 15 feet :) Great video. Thanks!

  • @yinjara Yeah I have no idea why people are saying crap about the Hi-Point. Sure the 9mm gave me a lot of issues but the 40 cal is flawless. Actually my 40 cal is highly accurate and I have hit targets past 50 yards. Its weight contributes to its accuracy. Well worth the cash I spent on it. Might consider buying a second one just to have as a backup.

  • @InfantryGeek really I would hear complaints about the firing pin, that it should have broke already. My friend said because my is used, it was the firing pin was probably replaced with a pin stronger then the regular default pin. (o.O doesnt make much sense to me, but possible I suppose). But everyone I've talked to said you least need to clean it every week, regardless of firing or not because it gets dirty even sitting around.

  • when mine gets too dirty i just throw it away and buy a new one.

  • @LooksLegitBro well feel free to mail it to me.

  • I stopped the video right when u called the magazine a clip....there's a difference

  • @Snyper408 That's good because I don't want someone who thinks they know it all watching my videos. I admitted making the mistake, and know the difference probably better than you do. Have a wonderful day may God be with you.

  • I puchased a Hi Point C9 About 5 years ago. My first firearm purchase. Got it from a dealer at a gun show for around $180.00. I have since fired about 300 to 400 rounds out of it without ever cleaning it. Last time I took it to the range with a friend of mine (after carrying it in my truck for protection without shooting it for one year) and it jammed upon trying to loed the first round in the chamber everytime. After useing this video and cleaning it. It works like new. so thanks,

  • @murderfase82 Yeah i had the exact same thing happen with the exception of the amount of rounds put through it. This video helps a ton thanks InfantryGeek

  • Great video and much appreciated.

  • NAHC......HAHAHA

  • oh yes, that's why i wrote that. you are wearing the ring. LOL

  • @AnonimouxMike thanks

  • is there a way to take out the barrel to replace it? thanks.

  • @dozzy000 Not that I know of. You know the Hi-point has a life time warranty. If you have an issue send it in and they will fix it.

  • The Juwes make really good guns like Uzi. Tobad that highpoint is american

  • @securitygaurd81 nice masonic reference. lol

  • @InfantryGeek an educated man. Not to many of those these days.

  • LOL, 4:34 "pieces falling out. It's okay - I know where they go".

Thanks for the video. This teardown convinced me not to get one.

Requiring the use of a Hammer for tear down is deal breaker for me.

  • @frankgon4 Thats OK, it was designed with the idea of making a gun as cheap as possible so everyone can afford it. If you want a better tear down fork out more cash, if you want a gun that fires and doesn't cost much get the Hi-Point.

  • @InfantryGeek Now that's an Honest and Fair reply.

  • Great video !!!! Extremely helpful stuff !!!! (Love that ring u got on too, square)

  • @ronefresh1 Thanks, yeah I keep losing my rings for some reason. Guess I best stop fishing with them on. lol

  • The reason you need to hold the slide back past the second safety notch is because your safety wasn't bent enough. I had the same issue. about three degrees back will fix the issue. It's a normal problem.

  • Not too many blowback medium and large caliber pistols. would love to see how the barrel is attached to frame.

  • worked great other then got the spring on the first try thanks for the help cleaning saved me 35.00

  • are these good guns to have concealed or for home defense?

  • @dreamz20091 I find the 9 mm is finicky. It only likes a certain type of training round and I really haven't tested it enough with hollow points to judge which is the best round for it. I think the 40 cal hi-point is a better handgun because I haven't experienced any issues with firing this handgun. It really isn't a very comfortable gun to carry concealed, its heavy, bulky, and not very concealable. However its a good first gun for the price and when used with the right ammunition.

  • I to am a brother and proud of it. how can you speak bad of us Freemasons if you know nothing about us or our cause you should do some research before you judge us sir by the way great video I love my 9c

  • @john43081 ? Not all Freemasons are in the occult knowledge realm. Maybe you need to come out of the closet on your enunciation of such realm? At that age you cannot be too far on the lingo ladder.

  • I agree with you. I chose the .45 over the .40 due to the areas and environment I patrol. I need the heavy stopping power. Would you do a quick breakdown of the .40? I just cant find much of anything on the larger caliber HiPoints. I have a slight rattle where the mag is not fitting snug inside the gun. I wonder if its a defect, or if there is an adjustment.

  • @PaganEgyptian I have a video up already of me breaking down the 40 Cal. Its called Hi-Point JCP Breakdown

  • Fired 50 rounds through my .45ACP today. It was flawless. It is the new design btw, with the new trigger and double recoil springs. Low recoil, and very consistent. Not a single jam yet. I like mine, its a good General Purpose Gun, but I will still choose another Brand if I am more exposed to threats.

  • @PaganEgyptian Oh with out a doubt, if you are constantly relying on your weapon then choosing a high dollar weapon like the XD would be a better choice. Not to say the Hi-Point wont ever hold a better standard but for now, its a great starter weapon for someone on a limited income. The 40 cal is a much better hand gun than the 9. mm hands down. I was very impressed with the long range accuracy. Check out my other video of me firing the 40 cal.

  • great videos man ive been watching them and they're real helpfull

  • @fallen4201 Thanks, I will try and keep them coming.

  • Thanks for the info. The gun shoots great and accurate. Now that its cleaned inside.

  • i hate masons and freemasons. they are ruining our country.

  • @mycrx89 What an ignorant thing to say. You obviously know nothing about Masons to make such a blind statement. Did you know that Shriners are Masons, yes the guys who drive the little cars in parades with the funny hats. Did you know they donate money to help burn victims and have there own hospitals? I personally help clean up my community, by participating in River cleanups, Road side cleanups and help by making donations. So exactly how am I ruining this country?

  • So I couldn't help but notice the sign of Freemason in the background. How long have you been a Freemason?

  • @ofaixa 3 wonderful years

  • I own two a .380, and a .40 S&W. I taught my son how to shoot with the .380, and he loves his gun. We use them for hip carry when in the woods riding four wheelers. I own some higher ends guns, but zero trouble from the HI Points! Thank u for challenging the gun community on these guns. I have extended mags for sale for these guns. .380, 9 milli. They have proven that being cheap is not always bad!

  • if you remove the lock out pin will it fire with the magazine out?

  • I dont see why it wouldn't, though I wouldnt recommend modifying the weapon. Mods to the gun will void warrenties and may make the gun unsafe.

  • @b2mic1

    No, but still be safe......

  • It's called a magazine, not a clip

  • If you would have read earlpressley comment, you would notice he more politely corrected me already on this. If all you do is criticize peoples videos then you miss the point of the video all together.

  • Hmmm wasn't criticizing the video, simply the term you used. There was nothing "unpolite" about my last comment. don't be so thin skinned

  • @UrbanKnight12 this guy urban is a cum-eating-douchebag...he gets his kicks being a fukkwad to hi point owners...

  • @maciverandy yea hes a dick, ive had a few words with him never really has a good argument just kinda runs off at the mouth.nothing wrong with a good pistol thats cheap and reliable.i like my friends feg pa-63 but when i held it and noticed the thin profile and very very lite weight didnt occur to me it be so dam snappy, doesnt hurt or anything you just gotta practice to be able to hit anything

  • @UrbanKnight12 you look like a joke man , you bash a certain product but at the same time search for and watch every fucking video you can find on it . PS fuck knights

  • @Proedge352 damn that hurts my feelings

  • @Proedge352 oh i forgot, this "joke" is currently fighting in Afghanistan, so if anyone has a right to their own opinion its me, seeming as in contributing to the safety of this country and the right to free speech :) It's just Youtube, stop being a thin skinned nancy boy (And you can fuck knights if you want to, sounds like a personal issue to me)

  • @UrbanKnight12 still a joke

  • Is it ok to use a can of compressed air???

  • Sure is, I use can air all the time to quickly blow out the dust. I have a KelTek p-9 that fits in my pocket, it gets lint in it all the time. Cleaning it with a rag and oil is a waste of time if it really isnt dirt, so I hit it with the can air. You dont have to baby this gun, you can run it through a lot of cr@p before it will stop working.

  • hi!thanks for the videos!i watched all 3 of them, but i do have a request, could u make a review of this gun using a muzzle compensator?i've been looking for a videos using the compensator but i havent found one in the whole youtube,it would be great if u could be the first one to post a video about the compensator and how to assemble it. thanks again man.

  • That would consist of me purchasing one. Currently the cost of one is about 15 dollars, I will see if my local dealer has one.

  • oh well, dont worry man,i thought u might have it, but u dont need to buy it,thanks anyway,i thought it was more expensive though,if i get a C9 i ll buy the compensator and post a video so u can see it 15 bucks its a nice price for it,i've heard it reduces the recoil even more since the weight of the C9 absorbs quite a bit of the recoil for a short barrel. thanks again.if u can do the review it would be awesome! :)

  • Infantry, does Hi Point give instructions on how to field strip their weapons within the manual? Just out of curiosity, they seem to not expect their consumers to field strip their products with the more complex (manageable, but still tedious for a pistol) steps to take to simply clean a firearm.

From my previous comment, thanks for the response. Do you think that the fixed barrel is to allow continued accuracy?

I will give Hi Point a plus though in the simplicity of removing the firing pin

  • No the instructions really don't show you how to disassemble or reassemble the gun at all. I think they expect you to take the gun to a professional or some thing like that, not sure. The fixed barrel concept was created to make the assembly of the weapon much simpler, from what I understand. The guy who designed it wanted to create a reliable gun for the cheapest price, he wanted to make it affordable for all Americans. I like the fixed feature.

  • nice vid brother mason i been a mason for 20 years. pahrump 54 pahrump nevada Pythagoras 249 southport nc. scottish rite zelzah shrine lasvegas. O.E.S. southgate chapter lasvegas

  • MM and SD Battle Creek Lodge #12, been a mason for 3 years now. Thanks for the positive feedback. If I am ever out in Vegas I will look your lodge up.

  • I have never seen how differently made a hi-point is compared to quality brands, the construction is just really strange compared to most semi-auto handguns. Informative.

Is the slide plastic? Never been a fan of polymer type frames, but a plastic slide, that's something I just would never put my hands on.

P.S., Don't go to a shooting range calling a magazine a "clip", you'll never be taken seriously again, but thank God there are people like me that understand what you mean.

  • Sorry old habits are hard to kick. 7 years U.S. Army Infantry. I know they are called Magazines but in the heat of battle its quicker to ask for a clip. Yeah I was pretty surprised by the design myself. First the barrel is attached to the frame; As you can see in my video. If you also notice the firing pin and firing pin spring are slid into the Slide. The frame is a high impact polymer

  • and the slide is made from a mold but its made of some metal, pretty heavy if you ask me. You know a lot of handguns have a polymer frame, Glock, S&W, and KelTec all have some type of hard plastic frame. Why not they hold up to a lot of abuse. I like the High Point because it cost me $150 and it has a life time warranty on all parts.

  • The down fall to the High Point that I noticed so far is the release is touchy, ammunition tends to get stuck in the chamber when trying to load another round after ejection. I believe it has to do with the spring tension but I am sending it in for repairs, that way High Point can resolve the issue. I like the weight of the weapon. Its a bit heavy for the weak armed man, but the aim and shot group at 50 yards is unbelievably good for such a cheap gun. I love to go hunting with this gun.

  • Thank you very much! It's folks like you that make the shooting sports more enjoyable for everyone. Thanks again.

  • Thanks for the positive comment, I enjoyed creating this video. I also have one on the KelTec PF-9 9mm hand gun.

  • Great Video..... Cleaned my C9 and the job was exactly as you described! Best instructions i've seen anywhere..... !!!!

Thanks for taking the time do create this informative video !

  • yea thanks, im painting mine and needed the slide off...thanks

  • Would like to see pictures of the paint job afterwords. Good luck

  • yes great video, just cleaned my hi point i know how to clean a gun just needed the break down thanks so much this vid is dead on, peace bro enjoy your guns =)

  • OOO YEAH! didnt tell you mines the cf-380 and yes its the exact same breakdown, the only diffrence i found was theres only one black ring on the firing pin not 2 in mine, just one on the back, great vid man thanks a mill =) happy shooting

  • You are correct, the firing pin spring sleeve only shows as having one in the cf-380. No biggy though all works out the same. glad you like it, good luck finding ammunition for that weapon.

  • yeah this is a great vid! and same thing with my .380 it came wtih 1 ring instead of 2

  • Hey great video, thanks!

  • @HiPointFirearms Your welcome, if you are a representative for Hi-point Firearms and wish to use this video feel free to link it. If you want me to review and make other videos I am willing to as long as you are willing to shoot me out some equipment. Wink Wink. Great firearms.
