  • Such an amazing song, these guys rule!! Anyone get their new CD/DVD Live, Volume 3?! If you're an Avett Brothers fan then you will love it because there is nothing like them live! Definitely recommend it!

  • The first time I listened to the album I was like "Wtf is this?" when this track came on, because it feels out of place. It's grown on me a lot since then, love it.

  • they're so much more upbeat and intense and scream so much more in concert, It's amazing.

So on June 28, 2010 at 8:51 a.m. she was gone to heavan. I miss her like crazy. I became really close to her. I recieved a Double Lung Transplant when i was 16. July 13, 2009. To this day im doing great. I don't understand what went wrong with her heart. But she is not in anymore pain. This was her favorite song. I love it!!! I love you Grace

  • I love this song! and i love the avett brothers! i've known about them for a while and i love their music! i love how they rock out! lol :)

  • saw them at Winnipeg Folk Festival, was an awesome performance!

  • this song is amazing so is the cd

  • great song!

  • Music is so great, no matter what it improves your life if it's good, happy, nice.

    You get the drift.

Thank you Avett brothers for making my day

    <3

  • this song is kind of cheesy for sure. Not as goods as there older stuff, but i like it for some reason.

  • Impossible to keep still while listening to this- LOVE it.

  • i love this song

  • Those of you who like this song should check out this video. Listen for the song that starts at 0:42. It starts and stops a couple times throughout the video, but by the end you get to hear the whole song. That's Seth singing all the way through.

As for the screaming at the end, I think it works because the whole song you feel the excitement building. Notice it pushing out at the 1:04 mark then with the screaming at the end it finally explodes.

  • Oh sorry: The video is: Avett Brothers EU tour part 2

    Check it out

  • one of my favorite songs from the avett bros... any suggestions for other music?

  • @waitingforyoucolasan you should try friska viljor .. a cool swedish band.

  • @niekdbh thanks I will look up that band! sorry I didn't reply earlier...

  • This song is so cheesy!

  • @Rickduden clealy you dont understand music if you dont like it then find another song and dont comment!

  • @Rickduden but adorableee. (:

  • i think the screaming shows the intensity of his love. I think it suits the song well.

  • @PuppetSock97 I completely agree.

  • LOL, wow, didn't think my comment would get so many replies! I just don't think the scream fits the rest of the song at all; it's so bright and cheery and simple and then suddenly he's screaming. Every time I listen to it I get taken out of the song a bit at the end there. Of course it's all a matter of opinion, but I have the right to dislike it just as you guys all have every right to think it's great = )

  • I disagree. The ending seems to fit with the rest of the song's theme: after all, they do choose a much more resonant and dominating instrument than the more peaceful pianos or xylophones that are also featured in the song for their title. The intent of this appears (to me, anyway) to represent (using volume) the intensity of the singer's love.

  • the screaming at the end ROCKS!!!!!!

  • Wow... I'm from Holland and bought my first Q magazine today, and I saw this song and decided to listen is... best idea today! Very nice song!

  • love this song and yes the screamin' makes it great :)

  • i too am a fan of the screaming

  • I have to disagree. I dig the screaming at the end.

  • The piano work on this reminds me of Regina Spektor's Folding Chair. Both great songs!

  • Well, if you guys don't like the end, then you don't like the Avett's...sucks to be you!!

  • @WhOStoLeGitsum I think there's A LOT more to The Avett Brothers than one lone hoarse scream at the end of an otherwise ass-kickin' FUN song! Hell, I know there is, "cause I'm listening to the album right now!

  • @screwyootube1 Well, how about you start listenin to the stuff that dates back to 2000 and go from there rather than start with their radio friendly unit shifter. If you don't like the screams then you wouldn't like alot of their stuff, cause that's how they roll, they scream their asses off in concert.

  • @WhOStoLeGitsum Dude, I'm NOT against a good scream in a rock & roll song! But if they're gonna include it on the studio stuff, surely they can edit out the ones that sound like they're voice is gone. The warts-and-all approach (fine for live performance) will only take them so far. Otherwise, what's next... coughs and wheezes?

  • @WhOStoLeGitsum If it takes polishing up by a professional producer like Rick Rubin, that's the price to pay to succeed these days! Now they're getting national recognition, instead of being stranded in obscurity.

  • awesome

  • be fun to mosh to this lol!

  • so funny that this is the avett brothers, i knew them back in 2007 with emotionalism and i heard they had a new album out and i heard this song and i was like "no way, this is that song that i was trying to find".. anyway, excellent!

  • I need to learn this song on piano... anyone got any sort of notes where I can start off from?

  • this song always plays at my work and its the only good thing about my shitty job

  • I know the feeling man, music is cool like that makes everything better huh?

  • this song was the intro on the new show parenthood! Finally some nationwide recognition for a great band

  • this song is so addictive and catchy

  • i loooveee this song its wayyy too catchy [:

  • this song is awesome

  • this song reminds me of daylight by matt and kim. both are kick ass songs

  • Haha yeah.

  • I almost completely love this song... if only he didn't randomly get screamy near the end XD Oh well, the rest is so great I can forgive it. Especially love the last line: "It's not the chase that I love, it's me following you." What a sweet song.

  • @youjik33 My thought exactly! The ending scream is out of place, but otherwise, it's a great song, a lot of fun! I love when the piano kicks in!

  • @youjik33 fun little fact, the reason he screams in the end and in alot of his songs is becuase they use to be a punk band so he hasnt quite worked it outta his system yet lol

  • @toughmerc13 They started as a skiffle group like The Beatles and then eventually turn into rock. Notice the blue grass tone and Rock Tone of Carolina Jubilee and Mignonette, and then Emotionalism they changed to more of a rock base.

  • @youjik33 The screaming is amazing!!! Haha! : )) Well, if you prefer just this kind of music, it's understandable. My playlist

    Black Veil Brides

    Avett Brothers

    Lady Gaga

    Senses Fail

    ESATMZ

    ......

So, I'm kinda well rounded.... I like it.

  • @youjik33 i love the kinda screamyness :)...it makes it for me

  • @youjik33

Eh, I think the screaming adds more soul to the song, but it indeed is a fine piece of work.

  • @youjik33 The screams are such an avett brothers thing though haha

  • @youjik33 actually him screaming randomly at the feels like he's really into the song. I dont know, i just like the quirky in his vocal performance. And what a great melody, full of hooks etc.

  • @youjik33 The screaming is my favorite part :3

  • @youjik33 the screaming is what makes it great. no disrespect but its refreshing to find folk music where he randomly screams, its BEAUTIFUL

  • @TheFirstSanin Mumford and Sons has some of those exept it kinda works up to the screaming ( Both bands are amazing :D )

  • @youjik33 the yelling is great

  • this song is the shiz

  • holy shit, i'm tapping my foot ! That means i like it :D

  • lol

  • just bought emotionalism..like this even better...Wilco meets Weezer on some tracks

  • yes, there is a laugt there at 1:12. its a popy song so the laugter fits

  • totally agree

  • Love this song. Does anyone else detect a slight laugh at 1:12?

  • Mar 5 MPLS love.

    good song

  • i dont live too far from where there from.

    sweet.

  • i like it.

  • The new beetles. The new sound. Its time for a brand new revolution in music. This is the beginning. I need to stock up on some Doritos.

  • @smashingrapenuts twilight loser.

  • Fucking awesome,

  • I'm so glad to have found this band. It's great finding happy music that is very meaningful.

  • @bettro13 me too:D i was flipping through radio stations and this song was on a countdown, found this and other great artists i never knew about. they were all bands from england i think

  • @bettro13 welcome to the avett brother fan base haha check out their old albums...i think carolina jubilee is my favorite...then emotionalism

  • not bad, i like it. but for those of you who are saying "best song of their's" you should listen to some more. these boys are great, and they have much better stuff

  • love it! thanks mysterygoogle!

  • Such a perky song. :D

  • I can see this song accompanying a hipster montage in a motion picture.

  • Best song they've ever written!

  • such a fucking cute song!!!

  • i love it :)

  • the song is ok, but very different than some of their older stuff

  • lol

  • Well, that is because you don't know the specific thing this album is about. They're not just random songs, it's telling a story, sort of like a 'folk-rock opera'.

  • exactly right. some people just dont understand :)

  • I LOVEEEE THIS!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Song.

Just one of those songs that gets stuck in your head every time you hear it.

    Love it.

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss best song ever
