They'll update all the character models closer to release, I guarantee you. Just like most MMO's do, or have done. Their engine is built by them so they'll implement the appropriate features and re-render the models.

That's Hero's Jorney game from Simutronics. You can see their "Hero Engine" logo in top right part of the screen. Hero Engine is used in Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG, btw)
