  • It looks like there's some Barbary in that lion....

  • ooohh! big kitty

  • Look at the mane on that lion! I've never seen a mane as thick and fluffy as that!

  • Damn that lion got big mane

  • @Nederturk010 its a bison

    !!

  • i think that a permanent home for these beautiful creatures should be in the wild where humans dont hunt them down

  • @mrtwylor thats exactly where they are hunted? why would they be hunted at the rescue?

  • 1:43 god that lion has a huge mane!

  • there should be a law against animal exploitation. It's not hard to prove when an animal is being exploited.

  • @BigCatRescue are you gonna release the white tiger to the wild? oh and the Lion too?

  • @papergaal No, this never happens, we get the question a lot but there is no where in the world that releases captive bred tigers or lions back into the wild. Especially our cats that are cross bred and inbred the genetics are not good. White tigers do no t exist in the wild either, they are a man made animal, suffering form many health problems due to the inbreeding :(

  • @BigCatRescue so what are you going to do to them? :S thats really sad...dam it I hate people that did this to them!

  • @papergaal We rescue cats then provide them with a permanent home for the rest of their lives, this is the best we can do for them, we educate the public about the plight of these cats in the wild and in captivity and are constantly pushing for the laws to be changed to prevent private ownership of these animals among other things :)

  • @BigCatRescue I have one question, how are white tigers man made animals?

  • @Choy178 They are extremely rare in the wild, one in 10,000 tigers born is white and they don't survive long in the wild because they are white and with only around 3000 - 3500 tigers left in the wild they are rare, rare, rare! They are selectively inbred in captivity by people and all suffer from health problems, there's no reason to breed them but the public demand to see them so they are bred.

  • AWW ID LOVE TO HELP! BUT MY PARENTS WONT LET ME...

  • zabu is my tigress friend - girlfriend - shes sooo cute .

  • This is realy shit scratting for donations pathetic get lots of zoos together and then help each other then it would solve the problem

  • wooow masive mane what type of lion is this

  • @resareno80 Cameron is an African Lion :)

  • @BigCatRescue how much does he weigh

  • @catownsdog365 I'd say around the 350lb mark, he's a picky eater and his massive mane makes him look a lot larger than he is!

  • wooow masive mane what type of lion is this

  • wooow masive mane what type of lion is this

  • That lion has one of the most massive manes I've seen. Is that a Barbary lion?

  • @TheFerruccio Cameron does have an impressive mane that's for sure! He's an african lion though :)

  • you guyes should save a liger!!

  • We rescued a liger in december 2008, her name is Freckles :)

  • @BigCatRescue if you guys save a female tiger and don't know if she is going to babies and she had birth the day after she got there what well happen to her cubs

  • They don't want to be in some jail cage, let them go back to Africa they get fed dead animals, they never get to enjoy what they live for which is sinking there teeth into a breathing animal you idiots think you "rescuing them".

  • Big cats can't simply be released back into the wild, we rescue our cats form bad situations and provide them with a permanent home for the rest of their lives :)

  • @B3astmodee Remember "Born Free"? Elsa the lioness was captive from the time she was a small cub. The Adamsons were able to rehabilitate and release her, but she had to have a lot of training and trial and error learning skills her mom would have taught her. It was a major undertaking.

These two cats have never been wild. They don't know any life different from what they have. They don't long for what they don't know. There is less and less "wild" to return them to.

  • nothing can compare to a male lion

  • What a change in Cameron since his arrival! He and Zabu are extraordinary!

  • Have these two ever mated? Just out of curiosity, as they share the same enclosure.

  • No since we rescued them, we do not breed and they have both been fixed to make sure we don't have any unwanted cubs :)

  • Will Cameron join the pool with Zabu?

  • Nope, Cameron doesn't like the water!

  • Man I love them both. I was looking at zabu for sec and Im like she's huge! then, I saw Cameron and I couldnt believe my eyes at his bulk! Can I please ask if Cameron is Asiatic or African? He looks like a Barbary lion to me!

  • Cameron is an african lion, he has a massive mane which makes him look bigger!

  • what kind of lion in cameron? He seems to have his belly mane, which are some characteristics of barbary lion.

  • They both are beautiful, that's to say, the Bengal tigress and the Asiatic lion.

  • goog job

  • That is the first time I've seen Zabu in her pool! She loves it!! She is sooo beautiful, with her lovely blue eyes. I know its wrong to breed white tigers, but Zabu is exquisite. Thanks for taking care of her and Cameron, the handsome boy!

  • he/she is beautifull i want him~ ahahhahaa :P

    SO CUTE

  • Thats lion looks like a Barbary lion...Interesting

  • We get that a lot Cameron as got that look about him, but he's an african lion :)

  • he's a barbary lion. from the barbary coast of west africa, i believe. it's (previously thought to be extinct) sub-species of african lion. redicovered in captivity by pure luck sometime in the last 20 or so years. i recall watching the news itewm as i have a more than passing interest in anything feline related.

  • Haha, the whole time during the video my cat was watching it with me. It was so adorable XD Like she recognized her family members. Lol :D

Anyways, I love your organization. Its so comforting to know there's caring people out there like this. Such beautiful animals too.

  • Thanks we're doing our best, you should play the lion roar video see if your cat reacts to this!

  • Is that a Barbary lion? He does look like one because the mane covers like 60% of his body.

  • Nope Cameron is an African Lion, but you're right we get this question a lot because of his impressive mane :)

  • is it male or female? looks big and heavy

  • Zabu is female :)

  • big cat

  • ahhhh :'(

  • I wish all animals could be as lucky as Nabu and Cameron, and all the other inhabitants at BCR. Good job guys!

  • aw iv never seen zabu in her pond before! how cute! she looks like shes smiling :)

  • Isn't that cave Zapu's? That's nice Cameron is enjoying it too.

  • WOW!! This just makes me think SO much about these cats!! God Bless these animals!! And all animals!! and God Bless BigCatRescue!!

  • How long did it take for Zabu to get into the water? I image she did not have that option where she lived before you got her.

  • Not long, especially since she came from new england to florida, she soon got in there to beat the heat!

  • How does Cameron's mane get so huge?!

  • It's just good genetics and he must have lots of testosterone!!!

  • is cameron an atlas lion? you know, those ones extinct in wild. By the way, you're doing a great job caring this animals. I hope I could visit BCR if I travel to florida sometime

  • Nope he's an african lion.

  • I am gathering so many friends and family so we can start donating monthly to this great place. It brings me so much joy to see these animals finally be rescued from their undeserved situations. Were they both fully grown when rescued?

  • MaiForosh, Thankyou for your support, we really appreciate it. Cameron and Zabu were fully grown when we rescued them and now share a 2 acre enclosure in the centre of the sanctuary!

  • On average, what is the size for a single big cat? I know there was a video one female lion that could not be socialized, and there are probably more. Two acres must be appreciated by Zabu and Cameron.

  • I'm so glad there are groups like Big Cat Rescue out there working to save these magnificent animals. If we humans don't do something to protect our animals, then who will?

You guys are doing a great thing, keep up the awesome work! I really appreciate it and so do other lovers of these amazing creatures, we should all do our part to help spread the word.

  • they are both georgeous! it would also be a good idea to have at least 3 big cat rescue sanctuarys in every country! x] i wish that could happen!

  • They really are magnificent creatures, created by God the same as we are. They deserve to be respected as such. After all, God didn't go to the trouble of creating such beautiful creatures to have them disrespected.

I love all cats, big and small, and I love watching videos of the tigers of BCR.

  • This video got me a bit emotional. Its unbelievable how much abuse these animals probably went through and how many of them are going through right now. Ive always hated circus and items with animal fur and will try to spread this video and message around more. You guys are doing a wonderful thing, keep it up.

  • Genie990, THANK YOU for the kind comment. Spreading the word is the best way to begin change. We apreciate you saving the video as a favorite and adding it to various groups around YouTube. That would really help spread the word. THANK YOU, again.

  • i love tigers:) nice colors dunno ..don't have words to discribe:X:)

  • The male lion in this video is so majestically beautiful

  • Elbert37, his name is Cameron.

  • Precisely what is the point of breeding these creatures to have an existence behind Bars? I remember see these two rescued a while ago, you had to work hard to get them. BCR Rocks to the Defence of our Big Cats. Peace and Love Rosalind

  • Point well made!!!

  • Nice.

  • That lion is huge. How much does Cameron weigh?

It's an awesome job you guys are doing. Because of it I am not going to circus shows anymore. Keep it up.

  • I've never seen the original footage of Zabu & Cam being rescued. Thanks a bunch for posting!

  • i wild like to thank big cat rescume do helping the african lions-white lions-asian lions and all another species

  • i hope the government does something for these special creatures specially those who are being abused. i have watched your video about Circo Rey Gitano and i hope that someway, somehow the message reaches to those agencies that can help these wonderful creatures. more power to BIG CAT RESCUE!!!

  • wow that white tiger is awesome

  • Thanks for sharing great videos, keep up the good work.Peace and unconditional love.

  • :( how sad

  • thats a beatiful video bout savin the animal

    i luved it

    fav

  • My two young Granddaughters and I sat and watched all the videos on Hope, they were amazed and loved them very much. I promised the I would send new one of progress to them they are hooked lol Thank for all your work, Peace

  • The Lion was MAGNIFICENT . It's so sad that due to endless irresponsibility of "the most intelligent" ape these precious creatures have to suffer . thank you bigcatrescue !

  • Wow, thanks for saving them. I wrote a letter at CatLaws. I've got a question, since white tigers are made by matine the father with the daughter the mother with the son etc., it isn't the same with white Servals is it? But then how do white Servals come to be, or is it the same way as the white tigers? And how long have Zabu and cameron been at big cat rescue? Thanks, bye! shanimanu <3

  • All white exotics, tigers, lions, servals, etc. are the result of inbreeding. That is one reason why we will never breed the white servals at the sanctuary, even though we were offered 75,000 each for them. Their parents must have been closely related. Back yard breeders do not keep good records and that is why none of the cats they breed could ever be released back to the wild.

  • I'm really glad Cameron and Zabu are doing okay. The Big Cat Rescue is doing a great job to try and support these cats. I wish the team good fortune.

    be well,

    animalchemist

  • they dont look starved to me...maybe they werent getting enough exercise

  • Dear AirRick16, The lion had lost more than half of his body weight according to volunteers who had been caring for him before his rescue and you can see how the tigress' sides were caved in by her hips from the sudden weight loss.

  • I donate...

  • The thing that gave me chills is at 1:13, when the lion paces along the fence. He seems to be pacing the size of the cage he was in for such a long time...

  • Wow...are there any organisations like you in Australia??

  • I feel so bad!:(

  • Big cats are so adorable!

  • Thank god for bigcatrescue!!!!!!

You must feel so good everyday to see these cats knowing they're in good hands but also sad of all the others that can't be with you.

keep up the good work! i wish that I could do more....

  • Beautiful cats~

  • So sad! I loved the clip of Zabu swimming.

  • sweet first view rating and comment. 5/5 guys keep up the good work!
