Current research is insufficient to prove that the Armenian Genocide is real. The Ottoman government is innocent until proven guilty. Excuses about how evidence might have been covered up or hidden is not how one judges history.

Not at all. His use of the term "Meds Yeghern" was a warning to Turkey: "I have consistently stated my own view of what occurred in 1915, and my view of that history has not changed. My interest remains the achievement of a full, frank and just acknowledgment of the facts."
It means that he expects Turkey to come to terms with its history.

Don't doubt for a second that he believes that it applies to the Armenian case. He refrained from stating the obvious because he doesn't wish to alienate Turkey at this time. You might consider to take a look at the Turkish press. Turkey is up in arms because of the President's statement.

Because he wasn't forthright about it. "Meds Yeghern" is not a legal term, whereas "Genocide" is. His use of the Armenian term only served a sentimental purpose, in that it was a gesture of consolation for the sufferings of the Armenians (past and present, for the genocide and its denial).

There was no genocide! in 1915 Ottomans did force the armenians to leave Anatolia, because they beterayed ottomans for taking side of ottoman enemies! Turkey is all but dead without the U.S. If Turkey decided to form a legitimate alliance with either Russia or Iran, it would soon find itself usurped by the powers that be. Turkey is only a buffer against Russia and Iran, but not a reliable one. If Iran ever turns Westward (and it will, someday), Turkey becomes irrelevant.
