awesome! i have done one O-flight so far. it was awesome! we got to fly over a prooving ground. the only bad part was having a sterile cockpit the whole time :/ but it was so worth it. good luck in civil air patrol! i just got promoted last week. yesss!
thank you very much. The song in the backround was holiday by green day mixed with sounds of the airplane. I am glad you like it. I would send you the original but it was deleted.
glass cockpits are the best because you can make the controls the same on both sides, so you are not always looking over to the other side of the cockpit to see your heading, altitude, etc
hey man its Sig Air again, two things are comming up in december for me! We are doing a lipsinking vide at the next O-flight and we are gonna be using the song "learn to fly by foo fighters." Also, we are going to canada to see how the Canadian version of CAP works
To get your liscense or take a CAP special cadet class I think you have to be 16. But to do an o-flight all you have to be is 12 and have a full CAP uniform.
You can join CAP when you are 12 and at the age of twelve until you are 21 you can fly on 5 powered orientation flights and 5 glider rides. In CAP you can also attend the National Fligt Academy(i think thats what its called) and then you can get your wings and solo all by yourself. CAP is a blast! There is tons and tons more stuff you can do other than just flying. I can tell you if you are interested. :]
I think the yearly dues are like $30 and some types of uniform are provided. However the BDU's (the camoflauge) must be purchased, but most squadrons have a store of BDU's and other uniforms they will let you have.
to get promoted you have to take 2 written tests and a physical test, thats about the most school type stuff there is. There might be a class teaching you stuff about airplanes, or how to speak in public though. Cap also has lots of group trips like a trip to the WWII museum in New orleans or to see the blue angels, even things like camping trips. There is even one activity where you get to stay at the worlds largest airshow for a week.
CAP squadrons meet once a week for about 2 hours, and you dont have to go every week, you can skip the meetings if you have other things to do. Cap also has one week long encampments where you get to learn alot about CAP and the Airforce and even get the chance to go on a fighter jet refueling mission with the Air Force.
My squadron meets every tuesday, and I guess if you have the entire uniform, you should wear it. The uniforms aren't that bad though. And like I said you dont have to go to every meeting if you have school work, or dont feel like going, or something else.
That's a 182... It has a constant speed prop, aswell as the G1000 upgrade CAP has been putting in it's 182's!

@thunderdragon14 Looking at the beginning of the video, you can see "N633CP". Well, N633CP is registered with the FAA as a 182T, not a 172...
